Christian Bale's performance is fucking brilliant.

Every scene where he pretends to be happy or makes it bland that he likes killing (without people ever understanding him) is priceless.

post here your fav quotes from the movie...

I don't really have quotes per-se, mostly its when hes acting happy, like the scene where he kills Paul Allen with an axe.

(with a smile, happily) "Hey, Paul!"

*stabs him in the face with axe*

or like the scene where he runs around the builidng shooting people, the he goes through one of those spinning doors and comes abck and shoots the janitor.

Or when he confesses to Evelyn that his only was to fulfill his needs is by going to a mass murder scale.

or the ATM "Feed me a stray cat" bit.

edit-
ok here we ar,e taken from IMDB quotes.

Patrick Bateman: Do you know what Ed Gein said about women?
David Van Patten: The maitre 'd at Canal Bar?
Patrick Bateman: No, serial killer, Wisconsin, the '50s.
Craig McDermott: So what did he say?
Patrick Bateman: "When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things. One part wants me to take her out, talk to her, be real nice and sweet and treat her right."
David Van Patten: And what did the other part think?
Patrick Bateman: "What her head would look like on a stick..."
[laughs]

Christian Bale is the man. Would never have guessed he's actually welsh.

Patrick Bateman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/): Ask me a question.
Daisy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0576702/): What do you do?
Patrick Bateman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/): I'm into... well murders and executions mostly.
Daisy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0576702/): Do you like it?
Patrick Bateman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/): It depends. Why?
Daisy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0576702/): Because most guys I know who work with mergers an acquisitions really don't like it.

The scene where he's telling the two chicks how to fuck eachother was great.

BASTAD! ;)

Thats my fave one!

AP is one of my top ten, seen it about 50 times but I also like the part where he is trying to convince Evelyn at dinner towards the end of the film lol.

Just thought I would like to also add to the debate - Bret Easton Ellis who wrote the book, also wrote Rules of Attraction - which is linked by the fact Patrick (AP) and Sean (RoA) are brothers. Youll see when Sean (James Van Der Beek) answers the phone when Paul rings Sean's dorm, he asks if he is Patrick.

Im reading AP the book, and there is a scene where Paul meets Patrick!! - excellent reading.

I've briefly seen it. Whats the deal with the end? Is he-

actually a murderer although no-one will believe him?
suffering mentally and making this all up?

Yinno I never actually bothered to find out if what I thought was correct.

But the way I see it is, you could say he is suffering mentally and all the acts of violence he commits are fake and cunningly coded to actually be false - Evidence of this can be seen with the fact the detective concludes Paul Allen is/was in Paris, cant quite remember.

Or I was thinking everything he did was real, and the cop was fake, and represented his fear or consciousness....NO..NO.NO...as I type this I remember his secretery could see/acknowledged him so thats a fuckin shit theory.

Everything was probably fake, cus think the book doodles represented what he WANTED to do???

But then there is all the shit with the stained sheets, whores, etc.

I dunno, and dinner is on..

The movie comes no where close to doing the book justice.
