Rented it last night...and holy fuck the murders are all thoroughly depicted. No cutting away from the killer or anything, you see fucking EVERYTHING. Now, certainly this wasnt in the theatrical version cause it was way too sickening and violent. If you enjoy watching extreme blood then SLASHER fans....this movie is perfect for you.

SO BASICALLY STORY IS THAT THE KILLER WALTZES INSIDE A FARM HOUSE AND KILLS AN ENTIRE FAMILY. THE MAIN CHARACTER HDIES AND WATCHES HIM TEAR EVERYONE TO PIECES...LITERALLY. AND THEN ...well i dont wanna spoil anything cause that alone takes about an hour. MOVIE'S PRETTY TENSE BTW, had me stuck on the screen the entire time the killer was on.

highly recommended to sick people who love watching thoroughly depicted violence. AKA SLASHER FLICK FANS.

Nah it actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Basically I see it as:

Her motivation is that she is bat-shit insane. Alex was not her friend. Alex and her family had never seen her before that night. The initial car ride and meeting the family was all in Marie's head. The first time Marie entered the house was when she killed the father. I think she really was sitting on the swing, smoking and watching Alex in the shower. She then "masturbates" (in her head) and her climax coincides with the killer (her) showing up at the front door.

Basically I love the movie except for this. It seems like they felt they needed some sort of "twist" like most horror/thrillers do these days when this movie would have been perfect without it. But to me, the rest of the movie makes up for this mistake.

Personally I found the ending to be flawed and overdone, and really ruined what could have been an amazing movie.

Ok..

yea i agree the ending wasn't necessary to have that twist ,the whole movie was pretty damn good, and it woulda been classic with an actual ordinary ending.

So would the movie be worth a buy then, if you love gore-fests, like myself?

I've read reviews that the movie "tries to be too good" and "none of it could actually happen".

As long as the story is decent and there is gore, I'd probably buy it.

Also, do the people speak in English? I read that English was just dubbed over.

It's a French flick. The DVD gives you the option of watching it in French (if you speak it), or with English subtitles. Or the shitty dubbed English version. Dubbed movies tend to hurt the film though.

Then again there is barely any dialogue after the first 30min so it doesn't really matter.

I just rented High Tension (Unrated) and The Machinist.

Um yeah, that movie was fucking AWESOME except for that I really wasn't in a shock mode at the twist.

Odd. I've heard from multiple people in RL that this movie was one of the stupidest they've seen, and one actually demanded his money back after seeing it in theatres.

It was really good until the ending. Going back through the story you realize it makes no sense at all. Seems more movies go for the twist kind of thing at the end more than not and it kind of sucks.
