I'm going to take a stab and say it is surgery done on the colon, or the large intestine. My grandma had it done last year. Her's was for cancer, but I don't know what JR has, and it isn't alway for cancer.

My prediction is that Patterson got him on the way out the door.

Oooh, that can be pretty serious and dangerous. Colon cancer (of which there's always a fear when you say the words "colon surgery") is pretty damn nasty. Hope he ends up ok.

There's a brown shoes joke in this somewhere. Unfortunately, I don't know what it is.

Well I wish J.R. good news and good luck...seems to me that if the Mc's truly knew about J.R.'s situation, they would have left out Linda giving him a shot in the groins, wouldn't you think?:nono: He'll be missed and this new UFC guy better be DAMN good to replace J.R. ...of course, no one can truly replace someone with as much talent as he has, and I know King will miss him being on RAW just as much as the rest of us :( :'(

Umm Goldberg turned down the offer.
ALL HAIL <s>JOEY STYLES, PAUL HEYMAN,</s> Mark Madden :(
The UFC guy, Mike Goldberg, didn't take the offer.
In all seriousness, I hope JR is alright - we'll need him in 6 weeks when the plan to replace him blows up in their face.

Um yeah, if you guys havne't figured it out yet, they "fired" JR as an angle to explain away his absence while he recovers from butt surgery.

Theres an update on WWE.com now. Apparently they have found a massive growth in JR's intestines, and as of yet, it is not certain what said growth is. However, JR is scheduled for surgery next week to have the growth and part of his intestines removed, and as a result, will be hospitalized for 3-5 days.
I hope my favorite Sooner will make a speedy return to good health, and once again grace my TV with his unmatched expertise of fatty food hallucinations.

Naw, I think that one's called a colonoscopy, or something close to it. Ever watched Jackass? Santa gets one of 'em ;)

What's wrong with Madden? He's got the most successful sportstalk radio show here in Pittsburgh, and a few months back got the Sunday morning spot on national ESPN Radio.

DAMN!!
Well i wish J.R all the best. That sounds like it could be pretty painful. Ive just had a 24 hour bug and had terrible stomach pains - couldn't sleep! :(
So i can only imagine the pain he's in. The timing sucks too!
All the best J.R - "BAH GAWD MY INTESTINES AIN'T MADE OF VANILLA!"

Same here, there's a history of colon cancer in the family so I had to be checked out. The worst is the diet of laxatives the day before to clear the colon for the optical fibres. I swear I've never been in so much agony... cold sweats thinking about it now.

I think JR’s removal from the raw was Ross’s idea or at least was a factor. Its obvious he has lost his passion for his work, has health problems and is getting on in years.
Apparently the Colon situation and him being removed are not related at all.

“They found something massive in my intestines,” said J.R. in a phone conversation with WWE.com. “They don’t know what it is, but they will have to cut out part of my intestines.”
If it wasn't for the potential gravity of the situation, that would just be prime for like sixty horrible jokes.
I wish him the best in this... as much as we rag on him, I don't think any of us actually wish disease and harm on him. If this ends up being something like cancer, that'd thoroughly suck. Low survival rate AND a ton of pain before you succumb.
