I never thought id hear myself say that but i'll be damned if it isn't! :D

Gameplay - Seems like they finally got rid of that whole playing the game on tracks feel. You know like you can't shoot from anywhere you like, only pass it in certain ways, all that kind of shit.

Well now you CAN shoot from anywere you like - I scored from 40 yards out, drilled the ball into the post and it went in off the keeper. Coolest thing ever.

You CAN pass the ball however you want to now. Long balls down the field. Little chips over the defence its all possible now.

Sound - Is probably the best ever for a Fifa game. Commentary is amazing and the music, sfx are refreshing and cool.

I only have this game as a rental right now its for the PS2 i got it from gamingr.com but this really is the shit. Transfer system is great because ive signed Owen, Luque, Solano for Newcastle United - Doesn't seem to be any limits on who you sign. Which is great if you dont abuse it! ;)

The gameplay is a cross between Fifa and Pro Evo. I have to say this is the best Fifa.. EVER.

Im even thinking of buying the game and thats strange for me because ive always felt Fifa was simply an update rather than a new game each year.

Anyone else share my feelings on the new Fifa?

I highly recommend you rent it at least and see if you like it. :y:

I take it your on the Pro Evo band wagon then? :n:

Pro Evo has a lot of fanboys who seem to love it to death. Me truthfully i think its too slow, sure the goals are amazing but everything else about the game seems cheap and clumsy to me.

I can see how some people would love it but this Fifa pisses all over any Pro Evo ive played.. PERIOD.

Rent it for the weekend. Thats my advice mate. ;)

Should be in blockbusters by now, games like this they have about 4 or 5 copies of it because its one of the more popular rental games every year.

I was suprised how good it was, i mean sure the graphics could be better - shit i cant wait for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version because if they keep this gameplay, and revamp the graphics it will simply be the best football game of all time. :y: :D

The gameplay is by far the greatest for a Fifa game but it still isn't up to Pro Evo standards. The only thing that puts this game over the top is the manager mode.

It's better than 2005... But just not good enough. For one the stanima of midfielders in season mode.... and the crappy decisions you have to make regarding player hairstyles and the like.

I've seen like half a dozen goals like that in my lifetime, if you can do that with even a shred of regularity I won't bother. I likes my Pro Evo, far more realistic. I know you posted this in the other topic but Pro Evo probably is a tad slower, but the animation and movement is *far* closer to the real thing than Fifa ever has been.

Having said that you're not the only one who has said this year's is a step up, so I'll probably take a look at some point.

I've always loved the Fifa games, I prefer them much more than the Pro Evolution games. Was going to buy this last weekend but then I remembered that I owed a mate some money so I couldn't. I play Fifa 2005 all the time online and I think it's a great game. Might make a trip to Blockbuster tomorrow, check it out.

Yeah but ive played around 7 or 8 matches so far and still havent replicated it so i think its a one off.

The keepers seem so much better and you are more than often closed down before you strike it.

Thats your view on pro evo but im not the only one who thinks its too slow. Perhaps the next gen consoles could solve that problem? i dont know..

It has the foundations of a great game but its not great.

Id strongly advise you to rent it and check it out personally. No harm in doing that, why not have a look on google for gamingr. Im a member of that site and its a very cool rental site - 9.99 a month one game at a time, send it back and you get another one. I prefer this to blockbusters because if you love the game you can keep it AS LONG AS YOU WANT.

Plus when you think about it its great value - oh and sometimes you get money back!

I used to be a fifa guy, but then i got bored with how easy it was, so i found a copy of pro evo in a bargain bin and never gone back,

Yeah i was the same.

Manager mode for me helps keep this game interesting - buying and selling players and playing full matches is great, or seems great at the moment.

Started a career at wolves last night and the presentation and commentary seems even better than in a normal game.

Got Papa Dioup and Shola Ameobi in just before the transfer deadline, tried for Ashton but they knocked my huge bids back! :nono:

Like i say rent the game and see how you feel, i just think with the things they've improved this year - shooting, keepers, passing system, skills, commentary, manager mode, that this games definetly worth a rent at least. :y:

Ok seriously I'm not trolling here but were you smoking crack when you played this?

This isn't up to PES3 standards, let alone the new one. It's mostly details that bug the shit out of me but there's still some major stuff that I hate and have always hated about FIFA

-The players still move as if they're on roller skates, and the animation is such that they just are not as responsive as they should be.

-Passing is dreadful, you either hit it directly to the guy's foot or nowhere near him. And there seems to be no pattern as to whether you can actually find a guy or not.

-Shooting. Ugh. Little to no control over placement of the ball at all. And whether a player is left or right footed seems to go completely out of the window. I ran 40 odd yards with Seol dribbling with his left the entire time...after which he blasted it in with his right :|

-...eh, I dunno. For me all the little touches that Pro Evo has put it way above FIFA. And there are a *lot* of them. It's the difference between some guys knocking together a game after having seen a few matches from the corporate hospitality box and some guys who've been on the terraces all their lives putting every little thing they can think of into a game, for me.

You either love it or hate it.. just like marmite!

I can see where your coming from but i loved it for the short time that i rented it, had a lot of fun and some great back and forth matches.

I agree the passing system needs some work, and as good as the shooting system is id like to see more detail - like being able to drive it low or bend a shot like a banana if you want to that kind of thing. Aftertouch i think its called.

Seol is actually rated well on this game, then again he's the same on Football manager.. ;)

Pro Evo still has a long way to go for me though, but then so does fifa. There's still no perfect football game is there?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However I dont see how Pro "has a long way to go" It has, the latest game, lifted the bar to the point that aside from the licences, i could not right now give you a list of things i'd like to see in pro 6. Yet when i played fifa and i played it for a full weekend so im not going on a whim, i could constantly be critisising it. Like MMM said it really isn't upto Pro3 standards, although they are going in the right direction, trying to mimick it. The only thing my fifa weekend achieved was it made me shite at pro for ages because i had just gotton used to the controls of fifa when i got 5, so ballooning shots, not being able to change men etc.

In short fifa is excellent for 7-11 year olds, pro imo is for a more serious gamer.

Having played both Fifa 06 and PES 5 I got to say I think PES 5 is much better. For example as some people have already said there is no control of the shooting in FIFA the passing goes from one extreme to the other and if you just put crosses into the box I find that you can score all day long.

I admit Pro has its flaws as well (most notably the licsences) but I think the gameplay is much more realistic, you have to think about where you pass it, you have more control over the shooting and you cant score the same way on every attack.

I played my mates DS version of FIFA 06, it's fantastic. PES on PSP is a bit shit for some reason and FIFA I havn't played on PSP yet.

If you're looking for a handheld football game, you can go much worse than DS FIFA

I've only ever played FIFA, but only because I've never seen Winning 11/Pro Evo anywhere in stores or video stores.

I played the demo of FIFA 06 the other, and it is so horrible compaired to PES. What the hell is up with the camera angle for starters? I don't think I'll ever buy a FIFA game again.

I knew Fifa 05 was flawed when within 20 seconds of playing it, I'd put the ball in the top corner from 45 yards.
