Yeah I heard some rumors that their might be episodes 7,8, and 9 in the works. I think it could actually redeem the saga if they brought back the old cast :y:
check http://www.theforce.net to see
Yeah there are rumors, I'm guessing it would take place a long time in the future (or perhaps go along the storylines of some of the books) since I doubt they could get much of the old cast. Harrison Ford said he probably wouldn't return to play Han if asked, Hamil would probably do it though as he has nothing better to do.

The timeframe'd be about right. The later episodes happen like 25 years later.
LOL 15,000 isn't that high compared to some, especially since I've been here over 3 years.
Now take Buzzkill's advice please.

I think the X-Wing series could make really good movies :y: Pretty much most of the earlier books wouldn't be too bad.

I doubt very much it willl happen.
The force.net every now and again report of such rumors.
But it has been said time and time again my Lucas they wont be happening.
While he originally planed for it, he doesn't ewant to do them now.
Lucas could let someone else do them, too.

Yeah, the same things he said before doing Episodes 1-3.
Oh look, he's doing them now.
Funny that.

whats star wars without Lucas....non existant.
Gotta remember it is all his companies that contribute to making the movies, and have all the rights. he would have to be invloved...

Yes, that was his revisionist statement.
Note the word revisionist there.

He would have to license it out. He doesn't have to do the movies.
There's a pretty big difference.
I mean, the guy had ghostwriters for 2 of the first 3 movies released...It wouldn't be that hard to go the extra step...

If the next one sucks, it's all over for Star Wars in my opinion. They shouldn't look too far ahead.

See, I think the next one will suck, but I don't think it's the end of Star Wars. Why? Continuity. Imagine how confused the moviegoers would be if they went into Episode 3 and saw a movie worth a damn?
Imagine how awkward it would be for people to buy the Trilogy +1?

With like 900 books out, it'd be easy to find good source material.
Shadows would be the way to go IMHTTO.
Dash Rendar, an assassination plot against Luke, and Prince Xizor...

Thrawn Trilogy. 'Nuff said.
They could pull off the Hand of Thrawn Duology, too, since they've got a poster chick for Mara Jade. Slap some blue paint and red surface inserts on Hugo Weaving, and you've got Thrawn.
Edit: And yes, I know I continued after "'Nuff said."
As long as it continues to make so much money they are bound to make more movies.

I don't care what they do, as long as the movies spawn more awesome PC games

Some guy I know told me that the guy who plays Chewy (who still plays him in the new movie) has something in his contract that says he has to do 7, 8, and 9 if they ever happen.

Which has motivated him for many things.
Speaking of which, there are rumours of a new revision of the original trilogy, this one similarly how he "always envisioned it."
Ironically, it involves removing the "Greedo Shoots First " scene.
I'm tempted to beleive it on the grounds that I've seen so many times where George lucas has backtracked. He dances on issues like a politician, he does...

if this next one flops, the mainstream legacy of Star Wars is over. It's already on shaky legs
After Episode III is done, Lucas is planning on re-making the original trilogy in 100% computer animation. Not only will the movies be totally computer animated, but the plots will also be slightly altered to fit Lucas' constantly changing vision of the Star Wars universe. Lucas claims that he will never do Episodes 7-9, but that his successors after his death may end up doing so.

See, the funny part is where you talk trash about Star Wars geeks, but have nothing better to do than to spend your time attacking them.
So basically, you're an anti-star-wars-nerd nerd...
