One of the few memories of WCW that I have left is the home video Diamond Dallas Page: Feel The Bang! The opening of the video has several quick clips of him hitting his finisher, which to me is the best finisher in wrestling , and it got me to thinking what his best "Diamond Cutter variation" was. I can think of two that stand out: Starrcade '98 against the Giant, where he countered a top-rope chokeslam into a diamond cutter, and an episode of WCW Saturday Night before he turned face, where did a pancake toss-diamond cutter combination on some no-name wrestler.

The Diamond Cutter he did on The Giant is the one that has always stood out in my mind. Thumbs Up

Hmmm...I think this thread belongs in the wrestling forum, not in Q&A. But anyway, I agree that the Diamond Cutter he did on The Giant stands out, as well as the one he gave Billy Kidman at Slamboree 1998. (Kidman was hanging from the cage, and DDP bought him down with the Diamond Cutter)

Didn't he reverse the Jackhammer into a diamond cutter??? If so that one

WOW! DDP hit SO many great variations on that move that it's hard
to pick just one.I remember that there was quite a nice variation th-
at he hit on Eddie Guerrero on a WCW Saturday Night broadcast...If
I can find the tape with the match on it,I'll let you know exactly how
it went, but I remember it was quite nice.

I'd say the cage one to Kidman and the jackhammer reversal. I marked out so much for the jackhammer one

I remember seeing the one he did on Eddie G. Basically from what i remember it was like a Canadian Backbreaker( i think thats the name of the 'setup move' for that particular version of the diamond cutter, basically how albert setups his opponent for this finisher currently). Once he got him in the position of the Canadian Backbreaker he basically fliped Eddie G over in mid air and caught him with the diamond cutter. Kinda hard to explain but very cool to see :)

I remember that one and has got to be my favorite variation. If it helps anyone who might have trouble picturing it, imagine Faarooq lifting up an opponent for a Dominator or A-Train setting up for his Train Wreck backbreaker. Once the guy is positioned on the shoulder, his body is flipped outward so he's face-down and is brought down into the Diamond Cutter. If nothing else, check out SmackDown!: Here Comes the Pain and the move is called the Lift & Cutter at the Create A Move section.

I remember an episode of Nitro where Scott Hall was trying to get DDP to join the nWo. Hall held out his hand, Page shook it, and as everyone started booing, DDP pulls Hall forward into a diamond cutter. Not exactly a "variation," but it was sick none-the-less.

Yeah, it wasn't a variation, but it falls into the "never saw it coming" category. Another one would be when Page dressed up as La Parka on Nitro and wrestled Randy Savage. I never knew who it was until he nailed Savage with the diamond cutter after Savage missed his elbow drop.

I forget what name it goes by, but that move is in HCTP.

I remember that - that had to be one of the best swerves ever in wrestling.

I never saw DDP do that, but I've seen Tommy Dreamer do it a few times in ECW. He called it the Tommyhawk, I think.

I completly marked out like a bitch when I saw that. I remember 'La Parka' getting up and then just hitting the Diamond Cutter and everyone was like WTF!? then Page took off the mask and the place went nuts.

Awww the memories :'(

I seem to remember him doing that because he wasn't allowed to wrestle Savage until the next ppv or something.

Wait, now that I think about it, part of that match is on the DDP video. They just showed the ending of the match, and the trippy thing is that when page diamond cut savage, you can hear everyone in the arena chant "DDP!"

Hitting the diamond cutter on the giant would be one of the best, but the one that stands out in my opion would have to be where he was fighting Curt Henning at one of the WCW PPV's where Curt Henning through DDP into the ropes and Henning went to clothesline him and DDP spun around and hit the Diamond Cutter for the win and his first title.

I beleive it was at Starcade 97 For the United States Title, however it wasn't his first WCW Title, He was the Television Champion the year before, I can't remember who he won it from but I know he lost it at World War 3 96 to Johnny B Badd

By The Way, I liked the one where Beniot was going for the Headbutt on Bigelow and DDP just like jumps in the way and drives him on the way down

Page beat "The Renegade" for his first WCW Title (The TV Title). The one on benoit from a diving headbutt sounds pretty cool! He just Diamond cut him in mid-air? When did it happen? Also, a question i've been meaning to ask: When did Page first use the diamond cutter?

I beleive it was Great American Bash 1999?
I know the Match was Saturn/Beniot v. The Triad for the WCW Tag Titles
