WoW, it's been a while since I did one of these things I guess.
I had a trip planned this weekend to go to Orlando, Florida for TNA's PPV - but thanks to the f'd up weather, as usual in the 'POS state', it looks like I have to cancel it out. I was looking forward to seeing Nash / Jarrett, but I guess it won't happen :-\
I was also looking forward to seeing The Dudleys one more time, after not seeing them live since LAST November, back at a WWE house show. They wrestled Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki with Hiroko. Alright match, thanks to the Dudleys carrying the whole thing and working surprisingly old-school style.
It was nice to see a real tag team working an old-school style again. Not that many 'real' teams left in wrestling at the moment, even independently. Dudleys, MNM, Rock N' Roll Express, Midnight Express, The Power Company Twins, and a few others come to mind - and most of those teams are more on the way out than the way in. Sad state for tag wrestling, but at least those guys have the psychology of it down.
----------
-IF-, and it's a fairly big if, TNA can get their shit straight - I can see them doing alright. They have a lack of recognizable names with guys like Naturals, Shelley, Sabin, etc. [most of whom I cannot stand], who are all 'fresh' faces, but so does SD!; so they're on an even playing field, minus the timeslot.
----------
I don't care too much for Lashley on SD!. I caught some of his other stuff, pre-WWE, and now his WWE stuff - and the guy is NOT ready for television. Yet another stupid move by WWE, comparable to TNA calling up an overrated guy in Roderick Strong, who also, even with heavy editing, wasn't ready for TV.
----------
WWE pisses me off to no end. They've even ruined the WWE / JAKKS Classics line for me - announcing another rushed set for January of 2006, featuring a deserving Curt Hennig, possibly Sean Waltman, and.....Sabu. Yeah, WTF? The guy belongs no where near a set like this, yet there he is. I guess they won't work with the actual legends, so the next best thing is a washed up loser in the form of Sabu. Whatever.
And still no Tony Garea, Rocky Johnson, Tony Atlas or Ivan Putski. :n:
----------
I won't spoil SD! for those who haven't read results, but I'm pissed at two things on that program. Damn shame that they do things the way that they do, as they kill off any heat one could gain from any situation. Assholes.
----------
OK, I'm done ranting.
The next time around there will be more of my usual structure and witty comments. I had a planned article I did, but unfortunately, it was erased completely from my computer :( , so I decided to just vent my thoughts.
