Good job assuming everyone knows every detail of what you are talking about.
Good job of shutting the fuck up.

I dunno, I can see why they want to do it but I think they went too specific in what you can wear. Like no hats of any kind anymore etc.
Anyway, Stephan Jackson is just a dumbass, and AI didn't look too smart when he was talking about it either. Who knows, but the NBAPA didn't reject the idea when they signed the CBA last year.

I don't see it being THAT bad as the players are making it out to be. Most of them have been pamperd all their life and now that there's somekinda restriction above their head they start pouting and cryin. I mean don't all big businesses ask their employees to dress appropiatley when representing them? They can still wear their jerseys and baggy clothes outside the games so they could just shut the fuck up right about now.
The thing is maybe it's cuz this ruling came outta left field and Stern let it get to the point where the players had all this freedom ,now all of a sudden he wants to change it...but hey , times change.

LOL it is a big ass joke.
The fact that the guys wear chains, baggy jeans, crazy ass suits + hats, or whatever isn't the reason people look at NBA as being shit. It's that whole guys going into the stands and starting a brawl thing.
Again, big joke. What's even worse is Stern basically said whoever doesn't like it can suck his dick and go play elsewhere. What's the point of the guys wearing a suit on a damn plane? Like some of the guys said, maybe on the bench but come on.

They dont even have to wear suits though. They just need to wear a shirt with a collar.
I think its funny how everyone is trying to get all deep into this. Who cares what the NBA is trying to do with the image. You make millions of dollars to play a game - I would love to be "forced" to wear a collared shirt on the bench of a basketball game.

I believe you are a cracka ass cracka. Therefore you are thinking with cracka ass logic. As my fellow "homeboys" would put it, "dat shit be whack, G. Dey gettin' all up in our grill, trying to hold da brotha man down".
It's kinda retarded that they can't wear hats or headphones, though.

i think the dress code makes perfect sense. the NBA is a business, and the "empolyees" should treat it as such. all these dumb fucking players should just STFU about not being able to wear some lame ass gangsta cross and chain and just play the fucking game.
when the bulls had their run in the 90s, did you see Jordan & Co. dress like a fucking slob or gangster (ala A.I.)? fuck no. those guys pimped out the $5,000 suits every night. and if one of the rookies didn't have a nice ass suit, you better believe that MJ or Pippen would pick one up for them.
i also find it funny that hockey players on average make less money but seem to be some of the best dressing players in any sport.

Rodman pimped out the wedding dress.
Stephen Jackson actually would be making alot of sense if he wasnt Stephen Jackson.

yeah, it's simple, the NBA isn't making the money it used to, the sponser are leaving, the big companies that buy the $150.00 court side seats and the luxury boxes are leaving and that's where the money is.
No marketing, no NBA. Royalties from shoes and jerseys won't survive the league alone.
Stern figures it's an image problem, he might be right... but if he really wants to fix the "image" problem, maybe they should stop putting 18yr olds fresh out of high school on the court.
You can't expect "kids" to be "Adults" without them learning how.

It's business plain and simple. Much of the fan base is older white America. To be honest with you I much prefer NCAA basketball to the NBA. It's different. I certainly miss the era of Magic, Bird and Isiah.
There may not be an I in team, but there is the word professional in professional athelete. Fuck I have to dress up more than those guys every day and I'd be lucky to make as much in a year as some of them do in a game.

The thuggish image and the way that the NBA has become integrated wth a rap/hip-hop image certainly drives away corporate sponsors and the like, and lowers its mainstream appeal somewhat, but instead of this dress code bullshit maybe the NBA should focus on the fact that the game itself has become by and large fairly unwatchable most of the year.
There are too many teams, nobody can shoot a jumper, and the officiating is just ridiculous. (There's one female official that's so bad that even the other referees roll their eyes at her calls.)
Maybe the ratings wouldn't have dropped from the Magic/Bird/Jordan era days if there were still Magic/Bird/Jordan caliber teams and games to watch.

I have no problem dressing up ... because I know I'm a nice-looking guy. But as far as chains, I definitely feel that's a racial statement. Almost 100 percent of the guys in the league who are young and black wear big chains. So I definitely don't agree with that at all."---Stephen Jackson is a dumb nig

The problem with basketball, in general, is that these folks can't play as a team. There's no soul in the game. That, unfortunately, is Jordan's Legacy. They focus on his individual aspects while ignoring what little team work he had. We're looking at 5 individuals playing against 5 individuals. While that is sufficient in that sense, it's why we were "embarrassed" (bronze medal is a huge embarassment, I know... :shifty: ) at the Olympics. I'd personally take a well oiled machine than a bunch of spare parts.
As such teams > individuals.
This, of course, coming from a baseball fan.

It's not some new idea that teams have to look professional on the road. When our teams travel by plane everybody is required to wear a tie, and I know we aren't the only program that does that. STFU Stephan A. Smith.

It's not a new idea, but this is rrecent to the NBA. They will end up crying for a while, and people will get used to it or they won't.
Honestly, if someone would pay me to play a game such as this, and pay me millions of dollars every year, they could dress me in a suit, a dress, S&M gear, or one of those giant diapers, I wouldn't care.
