I believe he should as since joining SD he has cemented himself as the #1 heel on the show over JBL and the quasi heel Eddie Guerrero. Opinions?

He does seem to be the next champion although I don't see him winning anytime soon. Maybe even as far as next year. I think that Eddie and Batista will face each other at Survivor Series or the last PPV of the year and then Orton and Batista willl face each other at WM 22.

So Batista holds the title a whole year?

I see Eddie turning on Batista at Survivor Series but I can't see Eddie winning so I think Batista will hold onto the title and then I think they will hold off the big Orton/Dancin' Dave match until WM. So yeah.

As Vince usally has a heel going in to wm with the belt its a good chance that young Randall will hold the belt soon. The only other possibilty is Eddie but we dont know where the wwe is going with his werid face turn.

Orton has the title going into Mania against Taker the challenger, and Randy retains.

Orton should take it at WM 22 after winning the Rumble, without his dad

No. He is improving all the time, but he just doesn't have "champ" written on him, in my eyes yet.

But he's already been champ :shifty:

Undertaker wins the title in some triple threat match or something.

Randy Orton wins the title off UT at WM in the undercard main event, coming full circle from WM 21.

I'm leaning towards Eddie swerving Batista.

I don't want to see Orton with the title until I've seen the stench of being a little bitch has been cleaned off him. No daddy, no chickenshit heel who gets punked out, just that cocky sumbitch people actually LIKED>

And I still can't believe it actually happened. He was still at least 2 years away from at that time, IMO. It's like they were only getting started building him up.

They basically prematurely ejaculated his title win.

I think Orton will, get the title, but not from Batista. Eddie's gonna take this one. Heel Eddie with the title would be the shit, like Eddie with the U.S. Title was. Though I can see Orton getting it sometime between the Rumble and Mania. Shit, Orton might even take the Rumble and have his shot at WM itself.

Yeah, that Orton win was a cheap way to get him out of Evolution, and a cheap excuse to take it off Benoit and get it on Triple H.

I'm fond of the double turn idea at the series, preferably with Eddie getting the belt (hard to book I know)

Orton should win it at Survivor Series

Get some good credible Wins and drop it to Mysterio at WM :)

If it menas a SmackDown wrestler wins the Rumble (and remains on the show) I'm all fo it being Orton! SD! could do with a boost of credibility (ie a Rumble winner)

I am projecting Orton or Taker as the next World Heavyweight Champion.

I think he should feud with Michael Moore. Meanwhile, Anne Coulter gets tombstoned by the Dead Man...

I do think Orton's second title run should be a while off in the future. Maybe not even until 2007. They ned to have him wrestle solid matches, and develop a character that isn't so up-and-downy. Right now, I see no end to the reign of Dave Batista.
