I don't even know what's going on in the movie anymore. I had to watch the first hour like 5 times. Now I'm at the second hour with that guy that wears an armored mask all the time. Had to watch it like 3 times before arriving at this point. Hope I can hold through the rest and get it over with.
That Orlando Bloom is quite the lullaby.

The guy wearing a mask is a Leper. A ruler with a disease that eats your body away. The scene of him without a mask is rather cool. :D

It was alright. Better than Troy, of which I didn't think was too bad itself.
Never saw Alexander.
This is a really good movie. Yeah there is some hard spots to get past, but it does have some good acting.

Better than Troy, which are both better than Alexander, all of which are beaten by Gladiator or Braveheart.

Kingdom of Heaven strikes me as a really fucking awful cut of possibly quite a good film. It's a shambles of a cut. I can't remember why, now, but I just remember thinking at the time that the film could easily do with an extra hour in there of story time before all the war.

Troy looked like shit, but Gladiator over KoH? Gladiator was so "meg."

Or even "meh."

Troy was ok, but I didn't appreciate the way they removed the interaction of the Gods from the story, the way they ignored the entire role of Achilles' heel and the way they cut down the war from several long years to a couple of days.

Yeah I thought that too. In the very beginning when the guy rides up and tries to take him off to go with him I was like who the fuck are these people? They kinda just threw you into the middle of the story.

Yeah there's apparently a Director's Cut of the film coming out on DVD (who knows when) that adds in a significant amount of character development. I remember Ridley (Oh yes, we're on a first name basis) talking about it close to the films theatrical release. The studio wanted him to trim it down since it was a "summer movie".

I want to know what retard thought this would sell as a summer blockbuster anyway.
