Okay I want everyone to post their favorite top ten Royal Rumble Match Moments ever. Now this is specifically the Rumble Match itself and not the whole card. Here is my list:
10) Everyone stops for Austin-Royal Rumble 98- This one happened at the Royal Rumble in 1998. McMahon had placed a boutny on Austin and whomever eliminated him from the Rumble would get paid a large amount of money from Vince. Well when Austin's music everyone in the ring stopped fighting and turned towards the entrance way. But Austin outsmarted everyone and came through the crowd. Austin quickly disposed of Mero and then everyone started attacking him. Austin fought his way out and disposed of a couple of more guys until things went back to normal again.
9) Hardore Royal Rumble-Royal Rumble 2001: In the Royal Rumble of 2001 something interesting happened. Kane was in the ring with Drew Carey(LOL) and when Kane was going to attack him, Raven came out with a sinapore cane and started attacking Kane. Then more weapons were brought in like Trash can, Trash can lids and fire extinguisher. Al Snow then came out and he pulled ou a bowling ball from underneath the ring. Soon Saturn, Blackman, and Grand Master Sexay joined in on the festivities and everyone was using weapons. They all would gang up on Kane a few times to try and get him out, but unsuccessful and Kane eliminated everyone. Soon Honky Tonk came out and Kane blasted him with his guitar and eliminated him. Kane would last until the very end when Austin would eliminate him, but Kane definately put on the preformance of the night.
8) Savage goes after Jake: Royal Rumble 1992- The Jake-Randy Savage feud had been going on ever since Jake interupted Savage's wedding party at Summerslam 91. A few months after that, Jake attacked Savage with his python while Savage was tied up in the ropes. So you could say Savage was out for some revenge in the Rumble. Well Jake would come out before Savage's number came up and everyone the buzzer went off after that, you could see Jake keeping a close watch at the entrance way to make sure it was not Savage who came out. Well when Savage's number finally did come up, Savage ran out full speed and Jake saw him and hid under the ring. Savage got into the ring and started looking around for Jake, but Undertaker came from behind and attacked Savage. Jake saw Savage in trouble and started to attack Savage with Taker. Jake missed a short closline and Savage went off on Jake. He started pumelling Jake in the corner and delieverd a double axe handle on Jake. Savage would eliminate Jake and he continued going after him on the outside of the ring. Now answer me this. Savage jumped over the top rope to go after Jake on the outside, but the refs let him back into the Rumble. But a few years later Farooq also jumped over the top rope when Ahmed Johnson came in, but he was officialy eliminated. HMMMM
7) Bret comes for Austin-Royal Rumble 1997: Oh man I loved this moment so much and I remember going crazy when it happened. Back in 97, Austin had a major feud with Bret Hart. They faced each other at Survivor Series with Bret picking up the vicory. At Royal Rumble 97, Austin put on a preformance to remember, eliminating a ton of superstars. Austin would clear the ring a couple of times and each time he would taunt the lockeroom gesturing to bring it on and just sitting on the tunbuckle awaiting his next opponent. Well soon enough, Austin was in the ring all by himslef and suddenly Bret's music his and Austin put his hands on his head and you could tell he was thinking, OH SHIT. Bret walkied down to the ring with a purpose and pointed at Austin saying you and me. Bret got in and he and Austin exchanged blows for a few seconds. Then Bret would pound on Austin for the next minute or so before putting him in the sharpshooter. While Bret had Austin in the sharpshooter, King's music hit and he came from the announcers table into the ring. Then in a hillarious moment, Bret released the hold for a second and delievered a quick blow to Lawler to eliminate him. Bret and Austin would continue to fight, but it wouldn't be until later on that Austin got the best of Bret. But more on that later.
6) A Perfect Return-Royal Rumble 2002: During Royal Rumble 2002, a couple of WWE superstars made their return to the sqaured circle. Those included Val Venis, Goldust, and Godfather, but no one's return was more special then Mr. Perfect's himself. Perfect had been gone from the WWE for a few years up until this point, but when #25 came up, Perfect was back and boy was he ever back. HHH and Steve Austin were the only ones in the ring before #25 came up and they had disposed of a few wrestlers before that. It seemed like nobody was going to get in the ring without being tossed out by HHH and Austin. Then the Perfect Music hit and out came Mr. Perfect to a huge pop from the crowd. Perfect took is time to get to the ring, but not without throwing his towel behind his back and catching it. Perfect got into the ring and went after HHH and Austin, showing no hesitation and fighting for his life. Austin and HHH would get Perfect into the corner, but Perfect would fight back. Then in a mark out moment, while Perfect was exchanging blows with HHH and Austin in the corner, he spit out his gum and swatted it right into the crowd. SWEET!!!!!!! Perfect would also provide another mark out moment, giving Angle the Perfect Plex later on. But right after doing so, that Bastard HHH came from behind and eliminated Perfect. FU** YOU HHH. Perfect put on an excellent preformance getting eliminated 28.
5) Maven eliminates Undertaker-Royal Rumble 2002: Wow, talk about flukes. During the 2002 Royal Rumble, Taker was beating the crap out of everybody. Then Matt Hardy came out (and this was during the time when Taker seriously injured the Hardys and Lita weeks before) and went right after Taker. Matt took Taker to school for a few minutes, but eventually Taker got the upper hand. Lita came in and helped out Matt, but Taker again would get the upperhand. Then just as Taker was about to eliminate Matt, Jeff Hardy came out next and saved his brother from elimination. The two brothers would team up on Taker, with Lita even getting into the mix, for the next minute, but Taker proved to much and eliminated both Hardys. Taker was all alone again and Maven would be the next one out. Maven looked scared and Taker had a smirk on his face when he saw who was coming to the ring. Maven got in and Taker beat the crap out of him for a few seconds. The Lita got up on the apron and Taker punched her down. Then Matt and Jeff got back in and started attacking Taker. Taker eventually came back and tossed the two brothers out of the ring AGAIN. But what came next was UNBELIEVABLE. While Taker was talking smack to the Hardy's and Lita by the rope, Maven came from behind and DROPPED KICKED TAKER OUT OF THE RING. The crowd went nuts, I went nuts, J.R. went into convulsions, just pure craziness happening. Maven himself couldn't even believe what he did. But Maven's moment in the sun didn't last as Taker came back in the ring and beat the crap out of him. The Taker threw him through THE MIDDLE ROPE and took Maven threw the crowd and backstage. Taker would eventually toss Maven through thr popcorn stand too. But Maven was never officially eliminated from the Rumble. He should of Protested that...Jackass.
4) Hogan-Warrior Showdown-Royal Rumble 1990: This was classic as it was the first time Hogan and Warrior ever faced off. The fans wanted this to happen and they got there wish. Before this happend, the participants in the ring were Honky Tonk, Rick Martel, Shawn Michaels, Hogan and Warrior. Hogan disposed of HTM and Warrior disposed of Michaels and Martel leading to the Ultimate Showdown (pun intended) Hogan and Warrior stared at each other for a few seconds as the crowd came to their feet in anticipation. Ventura's commentary really added to the drama that was about to unfold. Hogan and Warrior began to get in each other's face and then shoved oe another. The they each hit shoulder blocks without knocking each other down. The the infamous criss-cross sequence came and they wound up double closelining each other. Man did I really want Warrior to eliminate Hogan, but I was denied my dream. They both stayed down until Barbarian eventually made his way down. Hogan would go on and win that Rumble by the way. But that moment will always be a favorite of mine as the top two guys in the WWF at the time would sqaure off for the first time.
3) Ric Flair goes the Distance-Royal Rumble 1992: The 1992 Royal Rumble was special because whomever won it would become Heavyweight Champion. Flair entered the Rumble at #3 and lasted more then 1hr to win the Heavyweight title. During the Rumble Flair escaped many close calls and always seemed to just dodge being tossed out. Why the FK didn't Bulldogg throw Flair out when he had him up in a press slam still baffles me to this day. I mean he had Flair eliminated right there god dammit. Anyway, the end of this Rumble came down to Flair, Hogan and Sid Justice. Now I guess Hogan didn't remember Royal Rumble 89 when he eliminated his best pal, Randy Savage, from the match. Savage was angry with Hogan and Hogan said it was every man for himself. I guess the Vatamins were really taking a toll on Hulk's memory. You see as Flair and Hulk battled in the corner, Psycho Sid Vicious Justice came from behind and dumped Hogan over the top rope to the shagrinof the crowd. Hogan got mad at Justice and was gesturing to Sid "What are you doing." Oh sorry Hulk, I didn't know you weren't allowed to be eliminated by anyone in the Rumble. I guess to Hogan the rules of the Rumble were 'Every man for himself, but just don't eliminate The Immortal One. Well hogan whined and complained outside and then in total soar loser fashion, Hulk grabs Sid's arm which allows Flair to come from behind and dump Sid out to win the thing. Yeah Hogan was a real role model for the youngsters back then. He teaches that if you don't get your way, do as you please without caring about others. GREAT GUY wouldn't you say. The Flair interview with Perfect and Heenan was afterwards was classic too. BEST Rumble Ever though IMO.
2) Austin Pulls a Fast One-Royal Rumble 97: At the end of Royal Rumble 97, Mankind had eliminated Terry Funk, but Funk would pull Mankind over the top rope and continue fighting with him on the outside. The refs quickly ran over to break up the brawl and send these two back to the lockeroom. Now as the battle was going on outside the ring, the contestants still in the Rumble on the inside were Austin, Bret, Taker, Vader and Fake Diesal. With the refs not looking, being occupied with Funk and Mankind, Bret eliminated Austin throwing him over the top rope. It seemed as if Austin was done for good, but Austin realized the refs didn't see what just happened and Austin came back into the ring. Austin quickly eliminated Taker and Vader and then eliminated Bret. The refs signaled for the bell and proclaimed Austin the winner. Okay at this point I was screaming BULLSH** at the top of my loungs, being a huge Bret Hart mark and all. An enraged Bret Hart would come back in to the ring and plead his case to the refs telling them he threw Austin out. To bad there was no instant replay at the Rumble. The refs would not reverse the decision and Austin was in fact the winner. Bret went over to the announce booth cursing up a storm and telling Vince that he "threw Austin out of the god dam ring" and then saying "Fk'n Bullsh**" soon after. Yes Bret I agree.
1) Bulldog Wins......Oh Wait, No he Doesn't-Royal Rumble 1995: Jesus, Talk about What the Hell just happened here, Shawn Michaels pulled off the Greatest Royal Rumble Moment ever here, IMO. Now Royal Rumble 1995 was one of the worst Rumble's ever as not a lot of star power was packed into this one, but I guess that might be a good thing as you really didn't have a favorite to win the match. The first two guys in the Rumble were Shawn Michaels and British Bulldog going 1-2 respectively. Oddly enough they were the last two in the ring by the end of the match. Well the end saw Michaels and Bulldog battle for a few minutes until finally Bulldog closelined Michaels over the top rope to win the thing, or so it seemed. You see what happened was the camera never showed Michaels fully hitting the floor as right when Bulldog cloaelined Michaels over, the camera went right on Bulldog. Now get this, Bulldog's Fricken Music hit and Bulldog climbed the turnbuckle and celebrated his so called win waiving his arms into the air. But all of a sudden, as Bulldog's music still played, Michaels comes back into the ring, leaps towards Bulldog on the turnbuckle and knocks him over the tope rope. I was like :wtf:   I have this Rumble on tape and it's cool to just look at the reaction of the crowd while this was happening cause the confusion of half their faces is priceless. So the announcer announces that only one of Shawn's feet hit the ground and declares Michaels the winner. They went back and showed how Michaels hung on and it's pretty impressive how he didn't let that other foot hit.
Well there you go, My Top TEN Rumble Moments of All-Time. I hope you guys will list your's too.
10) Everyone stops for Austin-Royal Rumble 98- This one happened at the Royal Rumble in 1998.
