He has no contract so I shouldn't think so.

I've been trying to get on this board for a while, and I thought it was cus of the overload because of Christian. But it seems the board has been not working all day.

I'm not one of Christian's biggest fans, but this sucks to hear. I would be pissed off too if I was in his situation. From just being pushed to the main event, to being thrown to velocity. We'll have to wait on more on this situatuon, but this is messed up.

this isn't shocking to me at all. they have fucked him over so much in the last year, we all had to see this coming.

His contract expired recently, so it should be about 90 days before we see him anywhere. More over for anyone interested WWE owns the name Christian...and as we all know he can't use Captain Charisma. So it will be interesting to see what type of new ring name (should he choose to go wrestler elsewhere) he will use.

On a side note did anyone notice that WWE.com did NOT wish Christian well in the future? Bad vodoo if you ask me.

Sour grapes I think. They OFFERED him a contract and he turned them down.

How often does that happen?

Let's see here...you are the most over person on the roster at one point and you get jobbed. You continue to get loud reactions, and you get jobbed. They make you wear a stupid costume of a superhero, and you get jobbed. They take you off of the flagship show and stick you on the B show, and you get jobbed. You do everything they want of you and more, and you get jobbed. They let your contract run down to the last day where they tell you (and this is true from what I have read) that you have until the end of the day to sign the contract.

Yeah, no, WWE is a saint.

Johnny Ace - Christian, we have to get to sign this contract by tonight otherwise the whole Taboo Tuesday scenario could go bad as you are winning the vote!

Christian - woah woah woah, before I sign anything, I want assurances of a push - to the top this time, starting Tuesday, ok?

Ace - Yeah yeah Christian, whatever you want

Christian - Who am I facing again on Tuesday?

Ace - Chris Masters

Well, I assume pretty soon we'll see Christian in TNA, where he'll be greeted with a huge ovation, be made to look like he's getting a super-push, then get jobbed out to Jeff Jarrett. Still, I supposed being on one roster controlled by an untalented prima donna is better than being juggled between two.

Good job on his part. He has something Matt Hardy doesn't, DIGNITY!!!!!!!!!

LMAO

I don't blame him at all for doing what he did. I'd do the same thing. It's ridiculous how you became the next biggest thing ever since The Rock and SCSA (not saying he was on that level of stardom)...but he was so over..and WWE just jobbed the shit out of him.

I heard from PWInsider that he lives in FL, and therefore, making it to TNA tapings wouldn't be difficult at all.

If they mention him tonight on Raw (which they apparently will) then there might be a slight noise about it, but it won't last.

Now, I'm not exactly sure how they work, but - if Christian was not on a valid contract, seeing as how it has expired, does the 90 day rule still exist? There is no precedent for leaving at the end of a contract (Maybe Dudleyz were, on second thought), so I'm not certain if it's the case here.

Fucking idiots. The WWE had a guy that had so much charisma, so much reliability has a performer, and so much God-damned popularity, and they let him slip away because they're too busy being assholes.

I don't give a fuck if Christian cannot use the name "Christian" anymore. I don't care if he can't use his "Just Close Your Eyes" theme. Jay Reso will always be the first major guy in a company to stick it to the WWE in a way they cannot get him back, and look justified for it.

If I were TNA, I would swoop Jay Reso up, have him come in, win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in his debut (much like he won the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship in his debut), and have him play the role of top babyface next to AJ Styles, Rhino & Monty Brown.

Hopefully Reso leads by example and guys like Paul London, James Mariato & Chris Jericho re-think about sealing their fates with the WWE, and maybe go elsewhere. I'm not too sure if Chris Jericho is under WWE contract or not at the moment (I think he is, but anyway), but now that a major star has seemingly told the WWE to burn in Hell, and I can easily see an even bigger star doing that.

Christian was a well-liked guy, so hopefully there is some backlash on the WWE for this.

There is the possibility this is work, though. I don't know where it would go, but I can very easily see this ending up like Matt Hardy & Edge.

LOL, everyone go to wwe.com and vote for Christian, just to show the WWE what dumbasses they are for letting him get away.

Or "The Peeps, now a registered trademark of TNA"/"TNA Peep Show".

BTW, I was going to give you positive rep, but something happened and the window closed and said I cannot give rep to your post again. I'm not sure what happened, but I just wanted to make sure you knew it was supposed to be positive rep (in-case it sent trhough negative).

To be a star in the WWE these days, you have to be morally repulsive/sleep with the one of owner's family/a regular steroid user/be best buddies with the one sleeping with the owners family/or look like a Mr Universe reject (with half the talent).

Christian, like Chris Jericho before him, is a happily married man and seemingly has respect for most of his colleagues, male and female. Which is why he's never going to ever be the BIG star for them.

Think he can now take his place as No.2 as 'best to never be WWE Champ' behind Owen Hart.

I think that bringing Christian into TNA as a face would be a very bad idea, since his best character has always been the cocky heel, which he plays to utmost perfection.

Imagine if he showed up on TNA to a huge ovation from the crowd. He takes the mic.

"What the hell are you people cheering for? If you seriously think that just because I left that other promotion and came here that all of a sudden I like you people, then you're even more stupid than I thought! I didn't make this move for TNA. I didn't make this move for the so-called fans. I made this move for ME, and all of you can go to hell!"

That's not really Christians character though. Sort of delusional 'thinks the fans love him' type heel, suits him. Even when the fans do.

Remember the 'Peeps' thing started because he thought he was as popular as The Rock.

I posted in another forum site after Christian was starting to get depushed after his roster jump that the best thing for him to do was to jump to TNA. TNA has been gathering steam of late and I fell all they need is superstar who is charismatic and already a proven fan base. Enter Christian.

I am personally glad this has happened. I have not watched an episode of wwe since Jericho got “fired” and when Christian got depushed I have no reason to watch it. I do not find the likes of Marsters, Cena, HHH and Batista entertaining. I like Angle, Carlito and Orton but they aren’t enough to make me watch .

Like tonight, Edge and Masters come to the ring and talk about how there is only 4 guys you can vote for at Taboo Tuesday now, because Christian has quit. Then they make fun of him because he was on SmackDown! and jobbing on Velocity.

Then at Taboo Tuesday when Edge and Masters' first opponent is in the ring, they wait for the next one, then suddenly "Open You Eyes" hits and the crowd go mad, then Christian makes his "return" and then wins the match. And he gets the push he deserves.

It could happen.:-\

But if this is real I don't wanna see Christian go to TNA.

Meltzer:

From what we understand, Christian is in Anaheim for TV and was planning on going to San Diego for Taboo Tuesday even though he probably won't be voted in. WWE may change those plans but he was expected to be at both dates to be a professional. The big question has been why WWE released the information before late Tuesday after the show. Paranoia is striking deep.

Not exactly shocked...just dissapointed...VERY DISSAPOINTED...with the WWE.

here you had a guy who had it all...great charisma (like John Cena and the Rock), but he also had a fantastic character (cocky, arrogant, funny), a great ring entrance, an army of fans (peeps)...getting jobbed all the time.

I've gotta say, Christian is one of few guys who I actually began to like even when he was loosing. I'm talking about WM18 (i believe) against DDP. He lost the match, but was so brilliant in that match.

Hopefully TNA picks him up, however, I have serious doubts over TNA as any sort of compeittion for the WWE...unless Christian becomes like the Scott Hall of the new generation (1st to move to WCW).

I am however  over Christian VS AJ Styles VS Charlie Haas!!!

Posted by Tim Brown (timbrown24@gmail.com) on 10/31/2005 at 12:06 PM

-- PWInsider.com reports that Christian has been miserable in WWE for quite a while, and it only got worse when he was moved to the SmackDown roster.

His quitting is not a work or storyline, however knowing WWE’s recent booking style, it could be turned into a storyline later on. As previously noted, he did not sign the new contract that WWE offered him. Christian felt that WWE should have offered him more money for what he’s been putting up with, and has told friends he will give WWE a chance write him out of storylines.

Christian has also told friends that he had a big run and saved his money, and is in a position where he can afford to quit the company. It’s somewhat like the what happened with Chris Jericho, who has almost completely separated himself from pro wrestling.

Something interesting to note is that Christian lives in Florida, which is where TNA tapes all their shows and runs their PPVs. This would allow for a situation similar to Scott Hall or Kevin Nash’s, where he can take the quick drive up to Orlando once or twice a week to wrestle, then go back home to be with his family.

100% Agree with what you've said their. :y:

Christian is very much underated, he has the talent, charisma, wrestling skills and even the look to be a top player in any promotion.

If its true and to tell the truth im not going to believe this until i hear more about it, but if it is true then Christians probably guaranteed a job in TNA so its not like you wont see him again. ;)

Its a sad day, i still think moving to Smackdown killed his carer. I mean he was doing great on Raw up until the Batista squash but hell everyone was getting squashed around that time by Big Dave Batista!

So its not like it harmed him really, Smackdown for me just dont know how to use certain talents. Christian should have been in the feud with Benoit not Booker. :nono:

The Gooch
11-01-2005, 07:31 AM
I may be a cynic here, but does anyone else think that the WWE de-pushed Christian so they could offer him less money on his contract?

It's semantics but I don't like the word "quit" in this case. He was without a contract.

To those who are really upset, just remember that Austin was in a similar situation, so I wouldn't start chanting TNA, TNA anytime soon.

Hopefully Christian just needs a break and they settle on a new deal soon.

Interesting little interview from WWE.com after Taboo Tuesday from Christian:

Just prior to leaving the arena Tuesday night, former Intercontinental Champion Christian offered the following quote to WWE.com concerning his decision to quit World Wrestling Entertainment.

"Looking for a shoot interview? Looking for the inside scoop? You want to know all about how I walked into Vince’s office . . . how we got into a huge argument, slammed the door - stormed out of the company, and maybe one day they’ll have a self destruction of Christian DVD – that’s what you’re looking for?

Well, that’s not what happened. The actual reason is . . . well it’s a lot of personal reasons as to why I made the decision to leave WWE, and actually too many to get into, but I will say this . . . I gave everything I had to the WWE for eight years. I gave everything to the fans. I feel they gave me everything they had. But you know never say never in this business. Hopefully they won’t forget about Christian and we’ll see what happens in the future."

You make this sound like a major big deal and he's heading to TNA, he may have just quit to take some time off, he deserves it, quitting when you know WWE will want you back means, you can take time off as long as you want, when you return you'll probably get a push and he doesn't have to break his back every night. He just didn't re-sign his contract, much like Jericho, he wants time off wrestling.

Christian's been ym all tiem fave since his debut. I'll follow him wherever the hell he goes... most likely to TNA. Him joining TNA could really help the company. But there is hope that the WWE will smarten up, give him a sweet contract, and a permanent main event push. I don't know why they didn't keep him in the main event. He was probably the most over wrestler since Austin and the Rock. I'm sad, but I know he'll do fine.

Not really different.

Jericho was fed up of the way he was being treated, so he decided not to renew his contract and concentrate on his personal life. He promised WWE he'd be back.

Christian was fed up of being de-pushed so dramatically, and he was miserable and didn't want to renew his contract.

Well, except Jericho said he was burned out in wrestling, and went off specifically to do music. He actually made this statement, which is contrary to what you assume both Christian and Jericho were thinking. There has been no major statement my Christian, just a hint that he might be back at some point, but even that doesn't really say where.

Jericho didn't really promise he'd be back, he left it open to the ends that he might return. In fact, it was so vague that people were definitively stating the opposite of what you are claiming as well.

So yeah. If you ignore the fact that you've got your facts wrong, that's exactly the same. But that requires to to ignore your entire foundation being wrong, which is pretty hard to do. I applaud your effort.

Are you using that quote as evidence of that?

WWE.com: Do you think you’ll ever be back in front of a WWE audience again?
Christian: No, from this point on, I will be working over at TNA.

That would go over well.

This online interview was as canned and staged as any of the "backstage" interviews they do on TV.

True. Even so, this is the closest I can find to an allusion to returning to WWE:

WWE.com: Do you think you’ll ever be back in front of a WWE audience again?
Christian: Never say never in this business. WWE was great to me. I felt like I gave the company everything I had. And they allowed me to live my dream, which was wrestle in WWE. So never say never.

Which sounds like almost everyone else in the business.

Hence my thoughts that there's nothing concrete. Those interviews never have any substance.
