This Strong/Dragon shoot type thing

Just been doing some reading up on a Roderick Strong/Brian Danielson match recently and check this out:


November 1st: After reviewing the footage of last Saturday's match
between Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong as well as speaking to both Strong and Danielson it has been decided that a rematch will happen this Saturday in Chicago for the World Title. Danielson and Strong both wrestled last Saturday's bout very "snug" and tempers began to flare when Strong really lit up Danielson's chest with chops. Danielson fired back to get some "receipts" and in the process chopped Strong in a sensitive spot near the armpit and ending up breaking some blood vessels and causing Strong a lot of pain. Strong went to get some receipts of his own and caught Danielson with a forearm that knocked out the ROH World Champion for a few seconds. Things broke down from there as you will see on the video at ROHwrestling.com (it should be up by Tuesday afternoon) and the match ended abruptly. Danielson and Strong both want to get back in the ring with each other. After much debate, which included the option of not letting Danielson and Strong wrestle again so another incident won't occur, ROH Booker Gabe Sapolsky has decided to let Danielson and Strong settle the issue themselves, which is what the two wrestlers want. You fans in Chicago will now see the rematch this Saturday.

I don't think it's a shoot, the aim is to get people to put money into the company - by going to the next match, or buying the DVD. Plus, after your are unconscious, you don't just shake your head and everything is back to normal. And if it was real, no way would Danielson, the one meant to be pissed, take a fucking back bump off a double leg.

I don't think he actually knocked him out though because I don't think it's possible to be knocked out and regain conscience and just quickly be able to move around like that. He shook his head when he was getting up and that is probably the worst thing you can do if you get knocked out.

Well, he might have been knocked out for a second, then slowly recovered or something. Or adrenaline kicked in.

That was one sick quick counter for the submission finisher. I don't think they would have had him tap out so fast if it wasn't legit. That would have made Strong look bad.

I liked the ending. Dragon was like "Fuck this, I'm ending it right now". The match itself was Roderick trying to step up to Dragon's level, Strong made a mistake and it cost him.

I think that "knock out" looked legit. Strong didn't even know what to do with him, he was a sack of potatoes.

I don't know. That would be one of the best workshoots I have ever seen.

I've never known either to be very convincing in their characters and they both look steamed. And the way the match ended was fucked.
