Well you have to remember that it is actually 4 hos in one, but that still wouldn't be fucking 500,000.

Well, if they are gonna charge me 500,000 the least they could do is show me some pixelated titties.

Wasn't there one of the rock's "$500 shirts", for like $8,000?

Funky Fly

Yeah. Guess they were using Disney Dollars in the game.

I just started playing NM a couple of days ago and had totally forgotten how awesomely over-priced everything was in that game. I also went in and made some updates to the wrestlers (Christian with short hair, the TNA guys with their new names, etc.). Good God did I ever love how customizable that game as.

Cool King
11-05-2005, 03:57 PM
Yeah I have everything updated too, I've also split them up into Brands.

RAW Brand, SmackDown! Brand, WWE(Vince, Linda, Cole Etc.), Legends (Andre, British Bulldog, Etc.), Misc (Old wrestlers that are gone), then me and my bro have 1 each, for our CAWs.:D

But the last time I updated it was this time last year I think.:-\

I updated mine so much that I broke it. I can't edit anymore. I have about a third of the superstars looking right and the rest in their old attires.

It's weird how in no mercy, you could customize their names, clothes and entrances but not the moves, and it's vice versa in the new games.

If you had it all, you could literally make an entire new game by editing everyone. I think the moves makes more sense for branding purposes.

No Mercy remains the best wrestling game ever.

Until SmackDown! VS RAW 2006 comes along.

Jason Cage

will that game include the same controls as No Mercy.

I'm gonna guess no, just by looking at my PS2 and N64 controllers. That'd take some serious modding.

Plus, N64 didn't have a Select button, so we wouldn't be able to use the new Stamina system.

i wasn't a wrestling fan back then

what is so good about no mercy, seriously. Does it live up to today's gaming standards? Like Can I go buy it today and enjoy it as much as I did HCTP?

Day of Reckoning series is a bastardized version of No Mercy.

Except Raw 2 which allowed you to do moves and clothes but not names, hair or masks.

Aside from the aforementioned customization:

1) Incredibly interactive environments. If there's a chair on the ground and you slam your opponent onto it, it actually hurts more than if they just hit the mat (how come no other game has this?). This also goes for the best table physics of any game ever.

2) Intuitive control scheme. The controls were basic, but there were a ton of available moves.

3) Arguably the best roster in wrestling game history (SD:SYM is the only other one you can make that argument about, imo): Al Snow, Albert, Andre The Giant, APA, Big Boss Man, British Bulldog, Bull Buchanan, Cactus Jack, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Christian, Chyna, Crash, D-Lo Brown, Dean Malenko, Dudley Boyz, Earl Hebner, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Essa Rios, Fabulous Moolah, Gerald Brisco, Godfather, Hardcore Holly, Hardy Boyz, a Ho, Howard Finkel, Ivory, Jacqueline, Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Kaientai, Kane, The Kat, Ken Shamrock, Kurt Angle, Lita, Mankind, Mark Henry, Mae Young, all four McMahons, Michael Cole, Mick Foley, New Age Outlaws, Pat Patterson, Paul Bearer, Perry Saturn, Rikishi, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Steve Blackman, Steven Richards, Tazz, Terri, Test, Tori, Triple H, Trish Stratus, 2 Cool, The Undertaker, Val Venis, Viscera, and X-Pac

4) The best pre-HCTP season mode.

5) A ton of available moves in CAW. AKI loaded the movelists with brutal Japanese moves that there's no way in hell WWF would have ever let their guys use.

I seriously think it still holds up to today's games. Will you enjoy it as much as HCTP? That's hard, because the games are pretty different. Depends on your tastes, but I would take the chance.

Raven isn't in No Mercy, he's just in everyone's CAW list.

4) The best pre-HCTP season mode.

I still prefer No Mercy's season mode to this day. Mainly because it actually had, oh what's it called now, logical progression, not a bunch of random stuff thrown together into a huge mess.

Good call. I was just scrolling through my game when I made the list. Should have registered that Raven wouldn't wear a Headbangers shirt. :$

It's so true, though. I had Raven in my game too.

Funky Fly

But then I also had Ken and Guile from Street Fighter 2, Arnold Schwarzenegger, his evil black twin Arnold Schwarzenigger and Sylvester Stalone as Rocky (who had like 987567980 different punches for moves).
