What game were you happiest to finish? What's that one game that took you so long to finish that you felt amazing after finally once and for all beating the fucker.
I remember I got my Amiga in 1990 and one of the first games I got was Yo!Joe! What a fucking game. I would rather play that today than any game today.
Anyway I played it all the time, I never finished it. Then in late 2004 I stayed up every night till 4am, me and my brother playing it. We said fuck this we will finish it once and for all. Then finally we did. It felt fucking amazing.
Got it in 1990, finished it in 2004.

Mario 64 and Goldeneye
Both games I got stuck on then I just stopped playing them for a while, then picked them back up and beat them pretty quickly.

Super Mario Bros, me and my dad played it for weeks when we first got our NES and when we beat it it was like pwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Then Mario 3, but to a less extent.
Also, Final Fantasy 6, only because I rented it about 2 dozen times but never got far enough in 3 days to beat it. Then when I finally discovered the joy that is ROMs and emulators, I finally beat it. Totally worth it, awesome ending.

Final Fantasy 7. Played through the game 4 times before I finally beat it 6 months ago.
I never wanted to beat it. It was just too good. But I'm glad I have.

I was happy with Zelda no doubt, but I played that straight through for a month.
I got a bigger feeling of accomplishment after Mario and Goldeneye since I played them for so long.

What happened at the end of that game?
Metal Gear Solid. One of my top favorites.

Your dad plays videogames with you? That is awesome.
I got Donkey Konga 1 and 2 and a couple of bongos this summer and I was like "Dad, try it out", and he was all "er, I have the flu :shifty:". :'(
My mom played, but she has no rhythm at all.

Wasn't really a "wooo I baet it" type moment, but the first time I beat it with 100% was pwnsauce
Mario 1. It took me literally like 6 or 7 years before I beat it. But when I did, God damn I wanted to shove it in Toad's face. SHE WASN'T IN ANOTHER CASTLE THIS TIME, BITCH!

Avoiding the obvious one's I can think of that I really enjoyed playing through because of the story (the MGS series off the top of my mind)
Ikaruga (before I got free play unlocked) - I sucked (and still do) at this, but love it to bits.
Capcom vs SNK 2 is a rush to finish especially if you get one of the special bosses.
Darwinia - was such fun, and brilliant to play, some parts you really had to work to get anywhere, but it was never annoying, and always compelling.
Sonic & Knuckles with Sonic 3 - Just remember the last level being intense, and then the extra bit of Super Sonic flying through space chasing Robotnik, and having to collect the rings to stay super as it were. Good times.
Can't think of anything that took me a long time, as if I want to complete it I'll stick with it until I do (Shenmue 2 as an example).

I beat FFX yesterday. That was refreshing.
if you mean by Just getting to the ending of a game i wouldn't know... too many games
if you mean full on 100% completion, then Tales of Symphonia. It took me 4 playthroughs and nearly 300 hours to get everything in that game.

I dunno, I have a tendency to blow through a lot of the games I play so there really aren't any stand-out completion moments. Possibly in the old days with Mario and whatnot, but I was really young then so it's all a blur :(
I'd say the most recent one I can remember was GTA3...my friend was on the 2nd island when I played the game for the first time while at his house. I actually got the game about a month after that. Despite his massive headstart, I still ended up beating the last mission before him several months later :o
:o Admittedly, we both cheated our asses off with the weapons/health/armor cheats to try and finish the game first.....but apparently he never thought of using the tank cheat during the last mission  He eventually gave up and had me beat the last mission for him
VC also gave me a refreshing feeling, as it took me quite awhile to beat (didn't cheat in that one).....when I gunned that last fucker down I was like
Didn't really get that feeling with SA though...I didn't cheat in that one and I still beat it in about a month (mainly because I couldn't put the game down)

Well, when I completed Mario Bros. 3 with my dad, I was really happy. I was so happy that I had a huge smile on me for about 2 days. Then my brother completed Yoshi's Island, so after that, I completed it, but he was watching me do it, which was great.:D
All of my family have played computer games. You can't name a member of my family that hasn't played computer games.
I have one hell of a cool family.

"But I don't wanna save the world!" I'm sorry, but Tidus needs a dick in his ass, and ditch the whole emo thing.
The best Final Fantasy ever... VIII. My bro thought I was killing someone in real life because I was shouting at the screen. "YOU SONOFA BITCH, THIS IS HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED!!!!"
Same deal with Chrono Trigger.

I wasn't that happy when I finished Ocarina of Time, as I just wanted it to go on and on! But the game ruled and is my favourite game of all time.
Resident Evil 3, when it came out on PS back in the day, my brother brought it and didnt really play it so I did, shit my pants back then, but was awesome when I completed it.
I still to this day can't beat the Turtles game on the NES, it's fookin impossible I tell's you! That god damn electric seedweed in the damn levels drive me insane.

I was glad when I beat FF8 because it was over.
The junctioning system was so dumb and ridiculous. Materia beat the crap out of it. I even enjoyed the Sphere Grid, despite being occasionally confused as to where to go.

The original Legend of Zelda. When I was young, I could never get thought level 9. I had never fought Ganon until that day in 2003. I was in college and on our breaks in computer science, we would take our removable harddrives and go to the labs play Worms World Party. I took a week off Worms and played the Zelda ROM TO THE END.
From 1987 to 2003. 16 years in the making. It felt good. Damn good.

Mario for SNES. That game ruled.
Zelda for SNES. I normally don't like games like that, but this one was special. I finished it with no help. One of the best games I've ever played.
Wrestlemania 2000 fro N64. The ending was simple, but I loved it.
Mega Man 2 for NES. I played it when I was a little kid, and still play it to this day. Every time I finish it, I'm happy.
Burger Time. K, I totally lied about that one.
