Smackdown Spoilers:

Show opens with Long backstage with the Smackdown roster...talked about what happened on Raw and announces a series of matches to determine who will join Batista on team Smackdown at the Survivor Series. Long tells Orton that his qualifying match is next.

Rey Mysterio defeated Randy Orton - Good match. Mysterio went for the 619, but Bob Orton Jr. tripped Rey drawing the DQ. A double team ensued leading to Matt Hardy saving Rey and a 619 and Twist of Fate laid out Orton. Now it is Batista and Rey Mysterio representing Smackdown at the Survivor Series.

Backstage Orton promises an RKO to Hardy.

Annoucned for the Smackdown qualifying matches. Eddie Guerrero vs. Ken Kennedy and Chris Benoit vs. JBL.

Next up out comes MNM...Melina goes to do her entrance, but is too hurt too (DAMNIT!). Melina talks about how Eddie hurt her last week and how Teddy Long ruined MNM's glory. Melina introduces some chick from America's Top Model who hails from Indiana. Melina ends up slapping this chick and then lawnmowers rev up and here comes the MEXICOOLS. They take care of MNM and dance with random bimbo in the ring.

Edge goes into Teddy Long's office and asks for the street fight with Batista to be canceled, Long agrees only if Batista agrees.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Mr. Kennedy - Fun match which saw a ref bump, leading to Guerrero grabbing a chair. Guerrero sees the ref getting up, slams the chair on the ground, then throws the chair at Kennedy and then falls on the mat. The ref sees Kennedy with the chair and Guerrero on the mat. Ref DQs Kennedy which allows Guerrero to advance to the Smackdown SS team. Classic Eddie. Afterwards Kennedy drills Guerrero with the chair.

Backstage Eddie is being checked by the doctor and Batista comes and checks on Eddie, Eddie is diagnosed with a concussion.

Bobby Lashley defeated Orlando Jordan - This is another Smackdown qualifier...Lashley wins in a squash. Lashley is now the 4th member of the Smackdown team at the Survivor Series.

Edge and Lita are backstage and Edge tells Lita to stay in the dressing room while he goes and talks to Batista. Then The Boogeyman comes up from behind the couch and tells Lita that he is coming to get her. Lita runs away and Boogeyman starts to sing "Nobody knows the trouble I see."

JBL defeated Chris Benoit - A solid match where Benoit dominated most of the match...then Booker T comes out and distracts Benoit leading to a Clothsline From Hell. JBL is the final member of the Smackdown team.

Edge and Batista went to a no contest - Both men came out then Long is shown in the parking lot with Bischoff. Long tells Bischoff to leave, then Chris Masters sneaks up and puts Long in the Masterlock. This prompts JBL, Hardy, Mysterio, and Lashley to drive off in JBL's limo after Bischoff and Masters. Batista invites Edge into the ring and then....BOOOM! Kane comes out. And then WEEEEELLLLL IT'S THE BIG SHOW! Big Show comes out from the crowd. Edge, Show, and Kane surround Batista and take him out. Then various Velocity regulars comes out and get pummled by Show and Kane. Then Kane lights the ring ablaze and all three leave through the crowd leaving Tista laying.

So when Batista was sitting up, Orton comes out saying that even though Guerrero has a concussion, he was still promised a title match. So Orton attacks Batista and threw him outside. Then Orton poses, throws Tista back in the ring and then out of nowhere Tista catches Orton with a spinebuster and pins him. One of the trainers rushes to the ring along with a couple of other people and start to look over Batista. It appears that he suffered some sort of a pectoral injury. And he was hurt to the point where the match was cut way short and Tista wasn't even able to pose afterwards like normal.

Hopefully Batista is not seriously hurt or this will be a HUGE blow to Smackdown.

Other random notes..

I sat next to these two really HOT girls. They both were wanting Orton's nuts. One times during the Orton/Mysterio match the chick next to me yelled "Take your frustration out me, Randy!" and then another time when Orton adjusted his tights..."Oh touch it baby!"...but enough with what I was saying. :shifty:

I had no signs this time, but if you happen to see someone in the second row behind the ring post with a Batista shirt and a black hat, that's me.

Yep, section 121 I think, row D. Slickness.. I was cheap and got 50 dollar tickets. I'll basically be in the lower bowl, with the ring between where we are and the ramp. I'm praying I'll be high enough over the floor crowd.

I guess you fared better than we did. I'm going with a few other people, and the guy that ordered the tickets got the $75 ones, and are supposed to be around row 10 or so of the upper bowl in section 225. He even ordered the tickets on the Friday morning presale. I'm still pumped for the event though.

WWE World Champion Batista reportedly suffered a back muscle tear at Tuesday's "Friday Night SmackDown!" taping after taking a double chokeslam.

After working a quick, three-minute match with Randy Orton, Batista returned to the lockerroom in pain. Sources report that he had "obviously" torn his latissiums dorsi, a muscle on the upper back that connects under each arm.

One source described the muscle as being "rolled up."

WWE was to make arrangements for Batista to be evaluated by a doctor--likely Dr. James Andrews--Wednesday.

It is too early to determine the length of time, if any, Batista will spend away from the ring.

I guess the midget match was so memorable that you didn't feel the need to post it...Spanky and London won clean? What the hell.

And according to the Meltz, Eddie was getting such a strong reaction for the face turn, that it was decided like 2 weeks ago that he was gonna stay a face.

Ok, the problem was Tista's injury is that he is going to see Andrews. They don't send you to Andrews' unless its absolutely serious. So needless to say, I'm worried :(

If Batista is hurt bad and misses some time. Then we will have another tournament to crown a new champion I guess. Who would you put it on? Eddie? Orton? Taker? JBL? Benoit? Booker?

Disturbed316

They would only do that if he was out for a long period of time, like a year or something.

Hopefully it's just a strain or something, and he can come back and wrestle with a sick ass chest/back protector and smash the crap out of people.

We're meant to forget that storyline. Remember when Vince and Matt broke kayfabe and told everyone that the whole Lita Kane thing was fake and while she was "married" to Kane on TV, she came home to Matt every night.

What a horrible decision that whole thing was.

I like Batista and I hope he isn't hurt, but this is probably the best way to get the title off him. 'Tista can look strong, take some time off, maybe work even more on his promo abilities, etc. then come roaring back and regain the World Heavyweight Championship.

I hope they have a match for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Booker T vs. Chris Benoit would be my match of choice (leaving room open for the undercard of SmackDown! to be put on the event). I'd probably have Chris Benoit win the World Heavyweight Championship and carry it through some matches with Eddie, Booker & Orton. Chris Benoit vs. Royal Rumble Winner Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 22?

This SmackDown! seems to be another good edition. It sorta pains me to see the Juniors get priority over Regal/Burchill vs. London/Kendrick awesomeness. BTW, I'd have London & Kendrick challenge MNM at Survivor Series for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Faces need to be holding those belts right now, and LOD shouldn't get them back.

The problem with that is currently I think WWE has some shitty plans to put Orton and Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match. And the trouble with Benoit getting the gold is his contract runs up at the end of the month and unless someone has some info to inform me about, Benoit hasn't resigned a new deal. (I could be wrong)

Should Batista need to resign the title (which we are jumping to a HUGE conclussion here seeing as how people get injuries all the time and work through them)...and interesting storyline would be that Edge tries to use his Money in the Bank shot (I know it's for RAW, but when he won it TECHNICALLY was for a shot at the World Heavyweight Title, AND this is WWE so logic isn't needed), but since Batista can't defend it he wins by default. Something like that.

The only problem with the Edge scenario is that he is injured as well (I think).

The plan is for Orton/Taker at Survivor Series, but I can very easily see them scrapping that and having Orton cost the title by Taker at SS, and then gonig through with another (unneccesary) match at Armageddon. Unfortunately I could see Orton winning the World Heavyweight Title in the near-future, and then defending it against The Undertaker.

Batista injury update
November 9, 2005

World Heavyweight Champion Batista injured his back at the SmackDown television taping Tuesday night in Indianapolis.

Earlier today, Batista traveled to Birmingham, Ala., to be seen by Dr. James Andrews. While meeting with Dr. Andrews, The Animal was informed that he had a decision to make concerning the treatment of the injury. He could either rehab his back, or opt for surgery. If he decides to go with the surgery, Batista could be out of action for as long as three months.

Batista plans on making his decision by the weekend
