Was Eddie the first latino/hispanic WWE World Champion (or even major world champion) ever? Well, at least reconized, not just so Ric Flair could leave a country alive but get it back without a title match?

Because it seems to me that he is, but I'm not the best when it comes to title histories.

Oh, and by major, I mean WWE(F), WCW, and what use to be NWA, but if their was a hispanic NWA champ after WCW broke away, that doesn't count because NWA was no longer a major title.

I could be wrong but I believe it was Pedro Morales.

Yep Pedro defeated Ivan Koloff for the WWWF world title in 71. But I think the only Latin World Champs were only Eddie and Pedro.

Ok well then that settle it. Why are there so few latino world champions?

Because the powers-that-be prefer muscle-bound Americans and nepotism.

Boxing did not have a Latino Heavyweight Champion till John Ruiz several years ago. But for the wrestling part (exception of Tito Santana) there was not a lot of Latinos in the WWF/WCW until the Luchadores were brought in.
