View Full Version : Mario Kart DS
This game is so fucking amazing. Anyone with a DS has no excuse not to buy it. it is fucking AMAZING. there are no faults in this game whatsoever.
Honestly, if you have a DS go buy it! Especially if you have a wireless router, playing online is so much fun.
This game is keeping me from SvR 2k6

Yeah soon as Animal Crossing DS comes out, I'm buying a DS. Shortly thereafter, I'm buying Mario Kart.

this game has some tracks from the SNES game. This game is way better, even if you include nostalgia. trust me. it is that good.

how the hell do you get online for your ds!
the only games i have are:
warioware
super mario ds
golden eye
if i can get online i will definatly get animal crossing and mario ds!
yes Mario DS can go online if you have a wireless router, or if you buy the USB cord for the DS.
I think animal crossing can go online, but I'm not 100% sure

Yeah Animal Crossing can go online, though not sure if you can as soon as it's released. I brought MK-DS and the Wireless router the other day, should be with me by Monday. (Though it's a Christmas present, so I'm technically not allowed to play it til then) :(

40 tracks isn't enough? (including battle mode tracks)
how many more do you want lol, i'd say it's fine. The only thing I wish is that they added the Yoshi maze from N64, and had all of the rainbow roads in one cup, that would have been sweet

Actually, now that I think about it I'm probably gonna get the USB wireless adapter on Monday, when I buy Animal Crossing and that Mario & Luigi game. So I'll have to wait till then to get it up and going.
Kind of on the same subject though, can you play 2 DS's against each other without and wireless stuff, if you're just within range of each other? Like in the manual for that Pictochat thing, it just says they need to be within 30 feet of each other. So, say me and my sister each had our DS and were sitting next to each other, could the 2 of us play MK against each other, even sans wireless adapter?
Disturbed316
12-02-2005, 09:25 AM
Yeah, I pretty sure you can, I don't see why not. I think you'll only need the wireless adapter to play people who are out of range.

I'm sorry, you can play Battle Mode tracks online? Or in GP mode? Wow, I missed that feature. This is the best game evar!!!
There are about 6 tracks people like to play online. Mostly because of the number of tracks that suck. But I forgot this game has no flaws in your little fanboy eyes. :)

You can play battle mode against friends or the comp which is good, considering you could never play battle mode against the comp before. Yeah you can't go online, but come on, for a first wifi effort the fact that this game (at least with me) has virtually no lag even with 4 people playing is pretty impressive. Also, I play online a bit and people always choose many different tracks, not the same 6 every time. I'm not a fan boy either, I also have a PS2.

You really think so? I've played every mario kart game religiously and i Just couldn't get into double dash cuz of 2 people on one kart. Mario Kart DS also has unlockable characters.

I have every single Mario Kart for the home consoles and love them all, espeacially Rainbow Road as I said earlier. I think two people in one kart is good as a one off thing but maybe not as regular thing.Plus it means two weapons at a time :D
It would have been fun if you could knock the other guys partner off and by doing so disable his ability to use weapons until he picks his partner back up.Lol imagin playing as the weapon guy and falling off and having to run for your life from koopa shells and karts and stuff until your partner drove by and you hopped back on :p.
PS - just unlock toad and toadette on Double Dash

You need a wireless router. Wireless being the key word.
If you do not have a wireless router, you can buy a USB wireless connector thingamijig that acts like a wireless router for up to 5 Nintendo DS per network.
And just in case you were wondering, none of this shits will work unless you have broadband.

My dad has become insanely brilliant at this game that it's pissing me off. He had a quick go the other day and I haven't had a look in since. He mainly does time trials, but his times are stupidly quick. I had a quick go earlier but I can't get anywhere near his times.
I tried hooking this up to the wi-fi but I need to find my WEP key. Thing is, I don't use the router for my computer, so to do that I need to connect it up to my computer which is going to be a huge pain in the ass. Think I'll cop out and just spend £20 on the USB thingy.

I'm loving finally being able to battle against the computer. I can't wait to buy the WiFi dillio and get this online.
The only small complaint about this game is that there aren't enough fun items. Everyone had thier own unique item in Double Dash. I don't know why they took it out. Also I think some ineractive courses would help the gameplay. I'm not saying every course has to be super fully interactive, just a little... like the pin balls, or the pendulum. Or just more fun couses like Rainbow road and all the stadiums.
I'm also loving the classic courses. The N64 version was absolutely perfect to me and I keep thinking why didn't they include _____ track.
This game is way better than Double Dash.

Mario Kart 64 was my favorite. I loved Double Dash too though.
I'll get the USB connector from either Nintendo or Amazon if they have it. I guess I'll have it before the end of January.
Finally, my favorite character is either Yoshi with his green racecar, or Toad with the 4x4.
