Apparently, they've been feeding him medication which leads to retardation, notknowing it waas shutting down his brain entirely.

lol can you imagine if he stayed in character whilst drunk?

Cue hilarity.

For some reason I see this scenario....

Eugene: HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY, EVERYBOOOOOOOOOOOOODY, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M EUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGENE!

Bouncer: Ok, buddy, you've had too much to drink...

(Eugene strikes, giving the bouncer an Airplane spin, a clothesline, some crawling headbutts and, when the bouncer gets up, a Rock Bottom)

Tender: Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn... You shouldn't be such a violent drunk...

Eugene: (in Nick Dinsmore mode) Actually, I haven't had anything to drink. That's how I act in character.

As I said in the other thread (that will most likely be closed/deleted), it's probably drug and/or alcohol abuse brought on by having to deal with the fact that he's forced to play a retard almost 24/7.

TerranRich
11-18-2005, 01:53 PM
Christ, I wouldn't blame the guy for drinking and snorting coke. If I were forced to act retarded 24/7 I'd snort powder too.

TerranRich
11-18-2005, 01:55 PM
We don't have much in the way of details where the Eugene situation is concerned but I have been told by one source on the European tour that "when a guy is taken to the hospital then sent home and suspended, the reason is very most probably exactly what you would think it is." I won't say any more than that at this time, but I think the message there is pretty clear.
Yup. "Very most probably exactly." Couldn't have said it better myself. :p

Damn, I feel for the guy. Being forced to act like his character 24/7 has to take a toll on him. He's listed at a card show next Saturday in my area, so I was gonna try to meet him. He maybe off that now.

Usually when they use someone's real name when they have a very gimmicky gimick, they're probably going to be/are already gone.

If they wanted to kill the gimmick, they would of just said: Eugene was hospitalized and suspended indefnitely, and not of used his real name attached to it.

Yeah, because the WWE always makes sense.

I'm still surprised they didn't say "We wish Eddie the best in his future endeavors" at the end of ther news article on Guerrerro.

Xero

It's possible, but I doubt it. With that Nickelodeon woman on the writing team, they probably would have used the "reversed-amnesia anvil" gag.

If it is a way to get him out of the gimmick I applaud the WWE for doing it in a serious way. Wait, no, I'll applaud them when I see what his next gimmick is.

I'll say, though, if he does come back, they shouldn't use his retard gimmick. After all, retards can't be suspended/fired. It's against the law.

I agree that if this is real, then he should say he was just staying in kayfabe, just like they wanted to.

If it's a way for them to repackage the character, then that's not a bad way to go about it.

TerranRich
11-18-2005, 03:49 PM
The "I was just acting in character" gimmick is clearly a cop-out that would work perfectly. "Here, you wanted me to stay in character 24/7? You got it! Wasn't I acting retarded just now?"

Kane Knight
11-18-2005, 03:59 PM
And yet, it'd actually be a great reason to fire him, too.

So the WWE keeps a bad joke running for a long period of time, LONG past when it is overdue to be over, they tell him to be in this joke character's mindframe almost 24/7, they barely let him do what he is trained to do, and what he really wants to do with his life (wrestle), and they blame him when he can't hanle the pressure.

DROP THE FUCKING GIMMICK!

I hope this just a work, and they use it to play a "Nick Dinsmore vs. WWE for making him do that stupid gimmick" feud. Dinsmore is so talented, and it's going all to waste.

You realise that there are more reasons than just "the pressure of a lame gimmick" that could be blamed.

I know how they can drop the retarted gimmick and make him be normal.

When he returns, make him return when a huge face is in the ring, the face says Welcome Back to Eugene and Eugene says Thank You and hugs him, but then two big heels come out and they start to attack Eugene and the face. But then Eugene gets thrown out of the ring, he grabs a chair and scares off the two heels, Eugene's music plays and Eugene and the face raise there arm as the crowd takes pics, but then Eugene hits the face over the head with the chair and then he walks away as everything is quiet.

Next RAW Eugene come out and says he was only acting retarded because he wanted to be like the fans (He'll get some heet for that) but then he says his name isn't even Eugene, it's Nick, but then he asks the crowd "Do you know who the mastermind behind this is?" the crowd start talking then Eugene says "Not, me, it's none other than my Uncle Eric" Eugene has a evil smile on his face as Bischoff walks to the ring, Bischoff talks for a while, then at the end of it, Eugene, or Nick as he's known and Bischoff raise there arms and walk away as the crowd boo.

He would be a big heel and since he's with Bischoff, Bischoff will give him lots of Title shots, because there Uncle and Nephew, and that would make more heat, and we would get to see more of Nick Dinsmore.

VINCE: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING OUT THERE? HOW COULD YOU EMBARRASS THE COMPANY LIKE THAT??? YOU BROKE A TABLE, TWO POTTED CACTI, 67 WINE BOTTLES, A RACK OF WINE GLASSES, AND COMPLETELY DESTROYED THAT GIANT BLOW-UP DINOSAUR!!!

NICK: Funnn!!! hehehehehe!

VINCE: DAMMIT, I'M VINCE MCMAHON! YOU DON'T MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME! WHAT'S YOUR EXPLANATION FOR CAUSING THAT BIG FIGHT???

NICK: Holly hurt feelings. :(

VINCE: DAMMIT, NICK! WE'RE BACKSTAGE NOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STAY IN KAYFABE!!!

NICK: Hewo! Can I go to the bouncy house??

VINCE: DAMMIT NICK, I SAID STOP ACTING LIKE EUGENE!!!

NICK: FUN TIME!!!

VINCE: Shit... maybe this whole thing's really gone to his head...

Um, Eugene, we're going to take you to the doctor house, and then we're going to send you home to your bouncy house, okay?

NICK: YAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!

VINCE: Heh... um... yeah. Take some time off at and we'll see how we can help you.

NICK: WUV YOU!!!

you guys say they should "just kill the gimmic", but eugene will always be retarded in my eyes. his gimmic has left such a bad taste that unless he masks up (ala. Isac Yankem/Kane) people would never properly accept him as anything other than a joke. look at terry "the red rooster" taylor. he was a good wrestler with a horrable gimmic and his career never evolved. Steve Lombardi was another joke.

The story on Nick 'Eugene' Dinsmore is that he passed out and was
hospitalized following the Raw show Thursday in Manchester. I believe
the company is going to send him to rehab, probably somewhere in
Kentucky. At any rate he is under that impression according to a close
friend. They have fired guys for a lot less but Dinsmore is well liked
in the locker room and considering all the drug-related deaths in recent
years it's probably the kindest thing they can do for him. The fan
reports that he was in bar fight appear to be untrue. His future with
the company will be addressed soon.

How about instead of all this nonsense with Bischoff and Eugene being in kahoots, we assume that Uncle Eric never really knew Eugene b/c he was always on the road doing shows. It was Regal, who was looking for an opportunity to get back on the roster who told Eugene to act like a retard so that the fans would eat him up and it would pose a perfect way for Regal to ease his way back on the show. Regal is easy as a heel, so it's understandable for him to do something so "naughty".

This way, thare no questions like "If Eric was working WITH Dinsmore, why was he so mean to him?" It keeps Eruc in the dark, and it makes Dinsmore a crazy-over heel at the same time. Plus, it shows why Regal found it so easy to "train" Eugene and why they worked so well together: common goals; get on the show and go for gold.

Anyway, that's my take on how to play the "I'm back and I'm normal" backstory stuff. Take it as you will.

I know this is beating a dead horse, but if he passed out and such... well, that just raises more eyebrows towards what his moral had to be for him to be like that. I doubt he'd be doing any performance enhancing stuff, since it wasn't like a push depended on it. Makes it sound like he was just plain depressed about playing a retard and drinking away his sorrows (or drugging away... whatever it was).

What a pity.

Didn't need to be close, Eddie should be a wakeup call to anyon with half a brain (And let's face it, even his CHARACTER had half a brain). These guys routinely abuse themselves, end up injured, hooked on drugs, drunk, or burned out, and that's got to take a toll, especially on someone playing a RETARD.

a guy getting into a bar fight doesn't mean he hates his character. the dude he "fought" (nobody knows yet?) cold've been harrassing him FOR his on-air role. you don't really need a reason to get drunk and stupid. everyone in here only gets drunk because of their job? come on, guys

It's all a work. The 'drugs' that caused Eugene to passout will also magically 'cure' him of his condition, that way he can return to the ring as a 'normal' person. This also let's them explain why Eugene has been seen out of character in public, as the WWE can just say that it was the drugs. It's a win win situation for everyone.

Besides, I do find it odd how they acknowledge his real name and not just refer to him as Eugene. Seems like they would'nt reveal his real name if they get mad when he reveals his real personality.

Erm, that idea leaves a lot of questions in its own right. I mean Eugene was "special" before Regal was ever introduced to him according to the storyline and all, but a bigger question than that would be how the fuck would Regal know that Eric would force HIM of all people into training Eugene and being his manager?

Eugene wasnt around for very long before Regal's return. Just say they timed it so that it looked 'convenient' for Eugene to show up right before Regal. As for #2, Regal has worked with Eric before. He knows how ballistic and/or impulsive he can be, so he subtly threw himslf in where he knew he'd be 'stuck' with Eugene. He even played off that he hated him at first.

Besides, with this angle, you don't go by the storyline we know, you go by what happened beFORE the storyline. Classic soap opera "secret-in-the-past" kinda thing.

That would be the same thing we'd be doing for the other guy's angle. And actually, Eugene wasn't around AT ALL before Regal returned. It was Regal we saw first on that night. Your story just seems to have just as many problems (at least) as the other proposed story that was made. Props on being creative and all though.

Nick 'Eugene' Dinsmore seeks help
November 21, 2005

Last week in Manchester, England, Nick “Eugene” Dinsmore was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after he was found passed out in a hotel lobby.

After regaining consciousness, Dinsmore admitting to taking Somas and other prescription medication. As a result of the incident, he was sent home from the WWE International tour and suspended indefinitely.

Since returning home, Dinsmore has agreed to seek professional help. He flew to an undisclosed location, where he will spend the next two weeks being evaluated at a drug rehabilitation facility.
