View Full Version : Mandatory Themes...
When did it become basically mandatory for the WWF to use music for all of their wrestlers?

When Hulk Hogan used Eye Of The Tiger as his theme and got huge pops because of it.
I think.:-\
Can't be because up until at least WrestleMania 2 (not further) not many have themes. I'm talking about when even jobbers had music.

JYD was the first guy to have a theme, they realized it worked so well that they gave them to their bigger names, and eventually everyone. Now its a standard in the business, not to have one would be cheap anyhow.

Around 1985, the WWF hired Jim Johnston and started using entrance themes. It's all documented in the WWE Anthology booklet. I'll re-type it for you guys when I get home from work.

I believe around 1990 is when most all the wrestlers had entrance songs. Because around even 88-89 not everyone had entrance music.

I think I am right because at WM 6 everyone except for The bolshievks and Colassal Connection had an entrance song.
