Civ Request - Dave Youell failed to deliver [Archive]

I used to own the original Civlisation, the one with the little tiles and such that you moved around. I lost it when my computer crashed about three months back and I cant find a copy anywhere.

Anyone have a copy of this they could load onto some webspace or perhaps have know of a place I can download it from?

Yeah I know Civ IV is out but I have an often hankering for oldschool hence my recent addiction to the original Reb Baron.

I've always been kinda intrested in Civ games but never played them. What are they like and what are the requirments/ how much memory would they take up on my PC?

Any intresting/funny/cool things or stories?

Only ever played one and two, the graphics are pure shite but the gameplay is a blast.

If you have ever played AOE it kind of takes AOE (yes I know CIV was there first) and takes a little away from the flashy battles and such replacing it with more of an in depth gaming experience.

Thats the best way I can think to explain it.

I borrowed and AOE game a few years back or the PS2 wasn't all that great but not all that bad.
The Turn base thing I read about CIv kinda stops me going further. Id rather have something like C&C or Populous or B&W or even SimCity.

Thank Dave, that would be awesome.

And Drakul as a guy who loves C&C (I have them all) I do still reccomend CIV, it is different but awesome. It is most definately worth a hire to check out if nothing else.

original Civ was hella fun. i loved to build cities near enemy territory just to build nukes and bomb them non-stop
