Yes, I honestly do. They wouldn't have given it to Orton I don't think, and Batista was injured. If Eddie had lived, Batista would probably be out right now and Orton probably would have taken his place in the Survivor Series match.

If you listen to Steph's testimonial, she went out of her way to mention that Eddie was going to be champion, saying that he said it, which obviously was a kayfabe cover-up, so I think Eddie may have been set to win the title, otherwise why would Steph bother to mention "he was going to be champion again", when there was so much else to talk about.

Like I said in the last couple of threads on this, she could have said he promsied to try and lanf a 747 in her Grand Canyon, and who would really be able to say otherwise?

I think so, just by using the process of elimination though.

Batista - Injured
Orton - don't think he's ready for another title reign, needs more build for the match when he is going to get it

Which makes me think... Eddie tried really hard to entertain everyone while he was WWE champ, maybe the stress from thinking he had to do it again could have contributed (a small amount) to his death? Probably way off, but meh.
