Or part...

For me it's a part.

There's an 8 second chunk of the entire Fade to Black solo that really troubled me. It was something like ...having to full bend the G string on the 9th fret then immediatly hit the e string on the 7th fret, rapidly followed by a pull off on the b string from the 10th to 7th fret. So basically having to go assfast on three strings (one of which I bend everytime) without faltering.

Yeah, sorry for not being any clearer to people who aren't familiar with a guitar...but basically all you need to know is that part = hours of practicing to nail that technique.

WHAT ABOOUT U?

Playing songs I disliked or from bands I disliked were the hardest to learn. When I was in a band we were doing mostly cover tunes and me and my bandmates had different opinions on what we should play. Even though Bass riffs from Poison and Tesla were not very hard, the ambition to dedicate that time outta my life learn the real riff was a pain in the ass. I mostly just followed the rhythm guitar on those songs so it was in sync.

For guitar, classical stuff. Albeniz, Tarrega, Bach.

I remember a Steve Vai song I learned was hard. At least i think it was Vai.

Considering I tend to play rhythm guitar...

The most difficult solos I know come from the Indigo Girls and The Cars...They're not difficult, either, but I generally don't play leads...

I can play the lead from Modern Man by Bad Religion. If it takes more than 5 minutes to learn I tend to just go off on a tangent.

I'm not that bad. I can play simple classical guitar pieces, for example.

I mostly learned guitar with composition in mind. The idea is to get someone else to play the fucking songs.

Yeah I am getting of the mindset now that I do need to start learning songs, so I have been taking the time to learn the Superuknown album by Soundgarden. Then I'm gonna learn the Dirt album by Alice in Chains. I'm also going to mix a little Stevie Ray Vaughn in there for effect.
