Man i've bee waiting a long time for this one, here's all the info I got:
Two childhood friends enter the world's largest fighting tournament where they have to battle deadly opponents using every form of martial arts known to man. As they fight both friend and foe, their journey takes them deep into the heart of the notorious Tekken Corporation, where they uncover a secret project that could change the world.
--------------------
So I asume that's Hworang and Jin who are the friends.
The only people I recognised that have been cast or rumoured to have been cast are Nathan Jones as that massive bald fucker from Tekken 4 (can't remember his name as I though Tekken 4 was crap) and JET FUCKING LI! No idea who jet could play. So for the purpose of fun, who do you want playing who?

Would of said this guy to play Wang http://windowmanager.blogspot.com/miyagi.jpeg Sadly that time has passed. Wax off :'(

I think this is going to be as good as the Street Fighter movie.

The only reason I'll see this is if Dolph Lundgren is in it. Aside from that, I don't have high expectations for it, mainly because the Tekken games are terrible.
But Dolph Lundgren = Ratings.

I would think the 2 friends would more likely be Paul and Law...I could see Jet Li as Law.

Namco fighters are really shaky when it comes to storylines. Both Soul Calibur and Tekken have a bare bones story that would be compelling if properly fleshed out (they did a fairly good job this time in SC3), but they always puss out and barely have any story development in every game.
On a semi-related note, Yoshimitsu must be hundreds of years old to be a regular character in both series.

Jet Li would have to be Law I'm thinking.
Nina... Maybe Angelina Jolie.

Ironically, that was my first thought to. But between having to bulk up, the hair, and acting limitations, I don't think he'd be able to pull it off.

Well, Heihachi never speaks English. Hell, even in Tekken 5, which has English voices. Fuck, the only Asian who does speak English is Lei, seemingly.

When I said acting limitations, I really meant his face though. If you're wondering why he always plays the same type of roll, it's because he doesn't have full facial motion since his motorcycle accident. Therefore, I don't really think he could do a movie where he was someone like that, do to always having the same look on his face...
Also, he's looking older now. If you've seen any of his latest stuff. (Izo, Takeshi's, hell, even Battle Royal)

Oh snap. I guess. I'm sure they could just get a lesser known actor for his role then. So long as the cast has a fair bit of star power they should be ok. Also, as long as they have abetter writer and budget than Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, they should be ok.

Hmm..probably Marshall. He's old enough.
I hope the 2 friends are Marshall and Paul. Of course, knowing how Hollywood likes to fuck around with videogame plots, it'll probably end up being Mokujin and Kuma or something. :(

May as well get one of the fucking Tiger Masks. After all, it's not like King ever speaks English (or words in any language for that matter).

I realize, but King is actually based on Tiger Mask, so who better than one of the Tiger Masks to play him?
Also, it just occured to me that Tiger Dream isn't in that picture I posted, but I doubt she would make a good King.

Never let Hollywood get it's hands on a classic Videogame.

I never understood why Hollywood messes about with the game details before releasing the movie.
I was a little kid at the time but even then it bugged me that Luigi was only like 22 years old in the movie and not a single character resembled there game counterpart.
Look for King not waring a mask at all but having a Jaguar tattooe or simple face paint in the movie and Yoshimitsu being a big black guy with a wooden leg :wtf:

The Tekken "story" is so ridiculous that it would never make a decent movie anyway.

most videogames are basically crappy B-movies. Crappy B-movies would probably make great video games. that being said, most video games should just stay video games and not ruin the legacy with an awful movie.

Didn't know there was a thread for this. I made a list a long time ago and here it is:
Tekken Movie Cast
Jackie Chan - Lei Wulong
Nathan Jones or Goldberg lol - Craig Marduk
Lateef Crowder - Eddy Gordo
Andy Lau - Lee Chaolan
Masaya Kato - Kazuya Mishima
Sonny Chiba - Heihachi Mishima
Older guy from Fighter in the wind - Baek
Me - Hwoarang
I'll update this when I think about it.

I thought Jet Li was done? Don't really follow martial arts shit, but I remember hearing that he was retiring after Fearless. Of course its probably the same thing as a musician or wrestler or some athletes saying they're retiring, just aint gonna happen unless they literally can't do it anymore or nobody will hire them.
Jeritron
02-09-2007, 04:18 AM
and what's with Nathan Jones? Yet another role for this guy. Granted they're small typecast roles, but roles nonetheless. This guy has had more crossover success than any wrestler ever besides The Rock.
I guess its not bad to be typecast as a massive giant of few words when theres always a market.
I don't know, I guess he's lucky but take a look and Craig Marduk and a lot of people would probably pick Nathan Jones.
As for Jet Li, Fearless was his last Wu Xia film. That means he will never do another movie that takes place in ancient China with flying and cool moves and what not but he will continue to do other kinds of films. His new one should be coming out this year called "Rogue" with Jason Statham. He plays the bad guy :)

This isn't the cast list jeritron, just jura's ideas.
And yeah, dead on with Jones and Crowder.
I think he was referring to the original poster but have you seen Crowder's demo or at least his work in the Tony Jaa movie? He would be a perfect Eddie. I picked Andy Lau for his charisma. Masaya Kato can look very menacing but is maybe a little too tall for Kazuya.

Yeah Crowder's scene in The Protector was amazing.

Yeah, and if they did make the story decent they would probably pull some weird shit and animate it. I'm sorry but I cant appriciate an animated martial arts movie.

There already is a Tekken anime. It's centered around Kazuya and Heihachi , but there is a brief Jin cameo at the end.

Yeah, I was talking about 3D animation, like on the cut scenes. Dont think it'd work at all.
