A.F.I. cancel Big Day Out appearance
01 December 2005
Californian hardcore band A.F.I. have cancelled all their 2006 Big Day Out appearances, citing recording delays on a new album.
Big Day Out organisers today issued a press released saying A.F.I. - short for A Fire Inside - "are currently in the studio working on their new album which is running late and is now not due for completion until next year".
"Plans for touring have consequently been put on hold."
The news is likely to be disappointing to hardcore music fans wanting to attend the Big Day Out.
AFI released their major label debut Sing The Sorrow in 2004 to commercial and critical acclaim.
Big Day Out organisers say they are considering their options for a replacement, and an announcement will be made soon.
Bastards. Now we'll never get to see them in NZ. I'll be downloading the album for sure, but they won't be getting a cent of my money.
