Thoughts about Benoit/Booker, also Regal (technically spoilers)

So it was Beniot vs Regal tonight, and wow, I finally get to see what people have been buzzing about. I'd heard that their Velocity matches were insane, and I found this match to be very intense and a marvelous story. THIS is what wrestling is about, and the story they told was brilliant and very engaging. Props to these two... they deserve a feud on SD, not just Velocity.

Also, I really love how Benoit just jumped Booker T after the match. The intensity from the Rabid Wolverine was what endeared me to him in the first place, and it's back and more ferocious than ever!

I've missed SD sorta for a while, so I'm quite pleased to see that it has indeed been awesome again. Guess everyone was right.

Anyway, yeah. Benoit = The Man. Regal = Perfect Evil Guy. Booker T = Good Heel.

It was a fantastic match in which both guys used moves rarely used in the WWE, and Regal worked on Benoit's neck all match. Very brutal.

Whats crazy is this was probably there worst match asgaasinst each other. And it was still fantastic. (Even if the crowd was dead through most of it. :( )

The only complain I can possibly have about this match (which isn't really about the match itself), was that I would have had Booker T cost Benoit the match. Regal beats down Benoit after the match, Benoit kicks Regal's ass, THEN jumps Booker T.

I hope we get to see a "Pick Your Partner" match next week, where Booker T & his partner of choice, William Regal take on Chris Benoit & his partner...Bobby Lashley.

Lashley can wrestle when he needs to (apparently, anyway), so why not put him in a match with some talented guys. Have Benoit & Lashley win, then at Armageddon you can have another Booker T vs. Chris Benoit match, and Bobby Lashley vs. William Regal. Have Burchill participate in a Tag Team Battle Royal where each member of a team needs to be eliminated. Burchill represents both himself and Regal, where if he is thrown over, that's it (whereas other teams have two chances), but if he wins he and Regal get a WWE Tag Team Title shot.

I don't know why, but I think it would fit the Regal & Burchill characters quite well. I suppose you could replace Bobby Lashley in all this with OVW's Brent Albright or someone.

I'd like to see Booker win this one, then Benoit win 3 strait. Gone the final match just as it looks like Benoit is going to win have a lower main event screw him over. That keeps the title on Booker, letting him be the face (or more aptly, the heel,) of the mid card, and lets Benoit move back into the lower main event. With a feud no less.

I misread that for a moment, thought you said "lower mid card" and was going to curse you out for wanting to depush Benoit. :lol:

Alternatively, to have Benoit take the belt and then have him feud with Regal would be awesome as well.

He was never impressive in long matches in OVW, he's best suited to the types of matches he's been featured in.

Regal/Benoit was a breath of fresh air. Regal works very well with Benoit, and as much as I'd like to agree with everyone saying he's awesome, he's not that great. He's very awkward against a lot of guys, it's just that when he wrestles someone he has chemistry with, he shines.

It was refreshing in that it had a totally different feel than your typical WWE match. Booker T is also revitalised in his heel role, I found him entertaining for the first time in months on Smackdown.

That chop to Regal's face was so freaking nuts. That whole match was amazing, but would have been even better had it gone on for like 10 more minutes. Regal is freaking god.
