View Full Version : Give 'em a Better Role

I'm sure it's been done before, but I'll name 6 workers, and ya'll come up with a better role for them:

1. Shelton Benjamin
2. Lance Cade
3. Trevor Murdoch
4. Simon Dean
5. Nunzio
6. Super Crazy

Here's an example.

1. Have him turn heel and be Kurt's understudy once more. Give him a manager that can do most of his talking for him.

2. This man needs a long term tag team partner to survive in the business. That's the only role he can fill with any success at this point in his career, unless he can develop a personality.

3. Keep him with Cade, but give him an occasional side-job where he is someone's hired gun. Play up how tough and nasty he is (put over his willingness to go after Kane and the Big Show in a Hardcore Match, as well as his facial expression), and you can base entire angles off of just who he is working for during a particular stretch. It'd also have him fit into the Set-up man role for the big feuds, which his type of character is made for.

4. Better Gimmick. Maybe have him come back to Raw and team with Gregory Helms, play off the fact that they were both once Super-Heroes.

5. Should he ever decide to retire (which he shouldn't), I think he'd be a good manager. I would suggest less ring work for him, except an occasional CW Title match or a blow off to a feud with one of his guys.

6. He should get a mouth piece and an angle along the lines of "I'm Super Crazy, this is what I can do. Take it or Leave it."

1.) Put the IC belt back on him and have him go on another streak. Everyone sees that he's on fire and tries to knock the belt off of him as a challenge but can't no matter who they are. After a long while, have him forfeit the belt and go after the World Championship with a mouthpiece at his side.

2.) Fire him

3.) Turn him just basically into a roughneck that'll fight anybody at anytime no matter how dangerous it is. He'll never back down to anybody and sometimes get completely destroyed because of it

4.) If JBL ever gets the belt again, Simon should become his personal trainer and make remarks about how John isn't in the shape he used to be/ snide remarks to make the fans laugh and get JBL momentarily angry. There would be a bunch of vignettes with Simon jogging with JBL and getting frustrated because JBL has trouble running miles, etc. Eventually JBL will get so irrated with Simon that he just completely obliverates him.

5.) He should start another stable soon with a bunch of hosses and basically act as the mob of the WWE. Whenever people need somebody taken out, they call Nunzio.

6.) I say turn him into a ReyRey calibur luchador with tons of hype behind him and he'll be gold.

1. Shelton Benjamin

I'd do 'em on at a time whilst I'm bored. First up? Shelton Benjamin. Contrary to your "Heel turn," I think that he should gun for Angle, with the stumbling blow of Davivari. I'd like to see a program between these two, and I think they could elevate each other given a chance to shine.

Shelton's an amazing worker, but doesn't have any real mic skill right now. However, he has mad charisma. Let his actions speak for him, and do very little talking. Like almost none. Get him a manager if you've got to have dialogue, but keep most of his stuff in ring. Run-ins, maybe chase "Referree" Daivari out of the ring a couple of times in crucial matches. Eventually, he would go over Daivari and actually go gunning for Angle, hopefully having gotten enough momentum to carry at least an upper-midcard slot.

I've never really been that high on Nunzio to be honest. I think wrestling great talents in ECW deceived people intp thinking he was as good as them when he isn't...

Why they split Cade and Murdoch this quick is beyond me.

Why the hell Shelton Benjamin isn't being pushed to the moon right now is beyond me.

1. Shelton Benjamin--Not sure what to do with Shelton. I would like a heel turn, unfortunately his poor mic skills may hamper him in a heel role.

2. Lance Cade--Love the tagging with Murdoch. Stay the course. Only problem is I see Murdoch getting far more over in the coming months.

3. Trevor Murdoch--Stay the course. I do like Vastardikai and deadlyheaven's suggestions. Problem may become keeping him heel.

4. Simon Dean--Not really a fan. Not sure what to do with him.

5. Nunzio--I love Nunzio. Give him a Napolean complex and have him fight big guys. Find some way to keep this guy as a regular.

6. Super Crazy--Probably would do better in TNA. A feud with Rey could be sweet.

2. Lance Cade

Continue to do with him what they at least were doing. Sort of heel with a babyface sort of look. Arrogant motherfucker. However, he needs something to set him apart. I say give him a sort of "dark secret." The prettyboy's also a drunk. Something like that. I have less ideas for Cade because I don't give a shit about him. He's as vanilla and worthless as Maven...And has he got a FINISHER YET?

1. Shelton Benjamin--Team Angle one more time

2. Lance Cade--Dunno.......chef?

3. Trevor Murdoch--I like him so far, let him keep doing his old school thing

4. Simon Dean--Nova

5. Nunzio--Have him make people offers that they can't refuse. Turn him into the Godfather

6. Super Crazy--Feud with Rey. Give them 20 minutes on a PPV.

they should all start a stable and grow afros... and then carlito could be the head honcho and the islandboys could be the managers

3. Trevor Murdoch

Okay, as people have pointed out, he's a "vintage heel" and an "Alternative" to the generic heels we've had of late. That's great, but he's got little substance.

Ideally, I'd like to see him work with Flair, playing up the whole "Dirtiet player in the game" angle. Let them literally work in a competition of one-upmanship. Many superstars have defeated Flair, but how many can say they've ever beat him at his own game?

It allows Trevor to keep his "Angry face!" Gimmick, but take it somewhere.

1. Start a black panthers stable.
2. Have him team with Super Crazy and call them "Cade Crazy" then they'd started molesting everyone and every thing
3. Have him plave a fake Rey mysterio
4. Grow his hair out and give him swimming goggles
5. Have him replace Super Crazy in the Mexicools

1. Shelton Benjamin
Have Ted DiBiase return as his manager. Have him declared the new "Million Dollar Champion" and enter a feud with John Cena because of it. Cena thinks he should be World Champion, Benjamin's natural ability (now being backed by a lot of money) are overshadowing that.

2. Lance Cade
Have him help out Shawn Michaels for a few weeks and heighten the connection between them. Cade was a student of Shawn Michaels, so I don't think HBK would have too much trouble there. Cade develops a relationship with Mickie James, and starts wearing tights which say "H.B. Cade". Shawn Michaels & Trish Stratus begin to wonder what is really going on and BAM! Cade & James turn on HBK & Trish setting up respective feuds with them. Lance Cade says Shawn told him to make an impact back when he was performing as "Garrison Cade", well now he has. Mickie James changes her name back to Alexis Laree and takes the WWE Women's Championship from Trish, which can lead to a Rocky-style comeback for Trish.

3. Trevor Murdoch
Pissed off Lance Cade has gone on to bigger and better things without him (when it was Murdoch who called off the partnership), Murdoch goes on a severe drinking binge, and we don't see him for a while. Let him grow his hair, don't have him shave. Basically make it look like he hasn't had his mind on anything but his failures for the last few weeks. Eventually have him snap by destroying jobbers, etc. and building his way up to a big storyline with Lance Cade (possibility even re-alligning himself with him in his feud agains HBK).

They should play him up as a wrestling genius. Not the technical kind, but the one that knows how to get the upper-hand and create false feelings of securitiy in his opponents (like he did against The Hurricane at Unforgiven, before almost crippling him with a DDT). A feud with Ric Flair would be good. Maybe even have him beat Flair for the WWE Intercontinental Championship? You could send him over to SmackDown! in the next draft and feud with JBL. JBL prides himself on being a smart man that hides being a Texan, Murdoch can pride himself on being a Texan that hides being a smart man.

4. Simon Dean
Have Orlando Jordan beat JBL at Armageddon after a split between them, and have JBL question why. Jillian Hall can hire Simon Dean as a personal trainer for JBL (someone already suggested something like this), and have Dean and Hall comment on how useless it looks behind JBL's back. Eventually JBL gets angry and fires Jillian Hall. Dean stands up to JBL, revealing he and Jillian Hall have a close relationship, and JBL attacks Dean, and we get some sympathy going towards Dean and Hall. Dean plays a face character, making fun of JBL's gut, and banging Jillian Hall (who loses the mole thanks to surgery paid for by Simon Dean).

5. Nunzio
Have him join a new interpromotional heel syndicate run by Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. He can lead Vito, Guido, Jamie Noble and some other "associates" against Batista. Have it be revealed that Kane & Big Show have been in Triple H's pocket the whole time, and then at Armageddon have Nunzio and The FBI reveal their true colours by costing Batista & Rey Mysterio the match. Mysterio can then feud with Nunzio as Batista takes time off.

Eventually Nunzio can get sick of being Triple H's bitch, and he can lead his troops against Hunter, or he can simply re-affirm his position on SmackDown! by helping them in the war against RAW. Triple H vs. Nunzio seems completely unrealistic, but the WWE is big on Nunzio, and given some time to establish a character, I can see them feuding very easily.

6. Super Crazy
I'd have Kid Kash win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship very soon on SmackDown!, with help from MNM. The next week, Super Crazy challenges, and wins the belt. We get a shift in The Mexicools' format, and Juventud & Psicosis challenge MNM for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Armageddon, and Super Crazy defends the belt against either Nunzio, Jamie Noble, Kid Kash, etc. From that point on, let Crazy do his thing in the ring. The Mexicools can turn on Crazy, and we can get a pretty enjoyable Triple Threat Match. Maybe have Rey Mysterio & Super Crazy even win the WWE Tag Team Championship from Juvi & Psicosis at some stage?

Shelton and Super Crazy are the only ones that really matter to me out of that bunch, but I guess we can edit out Super Crazy because they've made the cruiserweight title meaningless.

Shelton-Just let him win a coupla matches, fer God's sake!

Cade-I dunno. He's so vanilla

Murdoch-Position him as a babyface everyman character. Not the best lookin', not the best in the ring, just a real tough sumbitch.

Simon-Have him become so freaked by the Boogeyman that he goes insane. Then put him in a tag team with Steven Richards (Richards can go back to his psycho gimmick).

Nunzio-Emphasize the "Shooter" part of "Sicillian Shooter". Make him a guy who will try to break an arm or leg in the ring. Give him a victory over a big hoss like Tomko. Maybe add Johnny Parisi (Swinger) and make the FBI a force.

Supercrazy-Put him in a program with Mysterio and let them wrestle their hearts out.
