With the holiday season (PC as not to offend) coming up and New Year resolutions to lose weight that often immediately follows I was hoping to get some ideas as to Songs or CD's you use to keep in shape. I just got a new computer for home so hopefully I will start making some compilation CD's.

Full Length CD's I like to work out to include:

Mötley Crüe -- Too Fast For Love
Live Wire to On With The Show is 33 minutes which is perfect for my treadmill run.

Journey -- Greatest Hits Live
Long songs that I enjoy. Even the mellow tunes seem to energize me.

Van Halen -- 5150
Anything Van Halen is good for me. The girlfriend prefers the Sammy era so 5150 is motivating for both of us.

Meatloaf -- Bat out of Hell
C'mon it's Bat out of Hell

I also have a mixed CD of 80's metal with some Crüe, Ozzy, Skid Row that a buddy compiled which is great.

But enough about me.

You need some upbeat shits.

Judas Priest's Painkiller is mostly upbeat.

Sinergy's Suicide By My Side is another.

I find rock music hard to work out to, they play shitty commercial dance music stuff in the gym back home, whihc despite its lack of any musical merit whatsoever is ok to wokr out to cos of the beat. Although when a trance remake of poison by alice cooper came on once I did nearly drop weights on my face.

I mostly listen to hip hop to wokr out to if I have a choice.

I say anything that just gets you pumped. I personally listen to Maiden, Priest, Tupac, Biggie, Skid Row, got that one Lil Troy song, Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise, AC DC, Hendrix, Rakim, some Chili Peppers, Run DMC (It's Tricky, love this one), Soundgarden, STP, Clash, Third Eye Blind, a little Tom Petty, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Billy Joel  , Blac Haze (I'mma Die a Hustla), Blues Travelers, Dire Straights, Goo Goo Dolls, Guns N' Roses, Kanye West, the Crue, Public Enemy.

Seems like a lot but its not I just pick my favorite songs from those bands and threw them on my MP3. I change it up every once in a while so nothing gets stale.

Man, I love Painkiller, it has one of the greatest solos ever.
On a side note, I've been using it as my avatar for the last few months too.:y:

Ultimately, it just has to be some kind of music that you enjoy, which gets you motivated.

the gym here at UNM seems to think the local sub par rock station played at half volume is good gym music. Wankers. Upstairs in the cardio section isn;t much better, they just play the local pop station which only plays that annoying Kelly Clarkson song

yea, for workout music, you basically need hard-hitting euro-dance music.... nothing else does the job really. Search around on itunes for "euro club hits" or check this link:

For me when doing cardio right now, nothing works better than Dragonfroce, through fire and the flames, mainly because of my GH3 love with that song.

Most montage music, as already said, Hearts on fire for Rocky 4 is great, anything that really picks up the past halfway through gives me the motivation to work a little harder. Normally when I know there's a key change coming up, I'll knock up the resistance a few notches

When I'm doing the weights it's all rock music for me. Need something to get me a little angry to work out. did 40 minutes today to Metallica, which worked really well, apart from when I use the old 'I'll stop on this ab machine, when this song ends' you shouldn't do that with Metallica songs, you will die.

Plus any wrestling theme's really work well for me, as I'm in the gym now because I want to look better for wrestling, so hearing the theme's motivates me.

For the record, euro dance pop should be banned, the ONLY thing that I sometimes use is Scooter's - Fire, that's it. I hate the generic pop music my gym has, bloody rubbish!

i like attitude/angry music when i'm exercising. stops me getting more energetic than i need to be but makes me feel aggressive so i feel like i could kick someones fuck in and gives me incredible stamina.

Stuff like:

Prodigy: Smack my bitch up, girls and Their Law. oh, and spitfire. and Diesel Power

Pendulum: Slam, Tarantula, Hold Your Colour

Sepultura: Ambush, Attitude, Straighthate

Soulfly: Four Elements, Bring It

God. just thinking about this and listening to all the songs has made me feel all energetic. gotta go kill something in a bit.

the bot strikes again. and euro-dance music is horrible. It's the Nickelback of dance music.
