Is it me, or is this a really BAD idea?

Monty has been getting over well with the crowd, including people cheering for him to hit the pounce multiple times and the like, and he seriously blows as heel material. And yet, he's getting booed going up against Captain Charisma himself, Christian Cage.

I'm sure TNA has some idea how popular Christian is, so why waste time on a face vs face fight which will only serve to help damage your homegrown talent?

I ask again...

Is Dusty still booking for TNA?

Monty was a heel before his feud with Christian belive it or not.

Also I think the Christian /Monty Brown segemt about two weeks ago maybe three, was the best non-wrestling segment ever done on Impact and possibly ever in TNA.

He was? This is the first I've seen of him really being booed, and this is partway INTO the storyline.

He worked as a heel against Hoyt in their feud.

Kane Knight

He's been a heel in the past, I know.

Then again, can't judge face or heel well in TNA. Especially by fan reaction. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ABYSS!"

McLegend

I can easily understand the confusion

Yeah. Monty's technically a heel, but it took Christian to get people to boo him.

Kane Knight

Well, that helps bolster my "Shit heel material.." line.

Then again, I couldn't really tell ya Hoyt was a face.

What, the deafening chants of "HOYT! HOYT! HOYT!" didn't have you convinced?

Wow. How'd my tongue get stuck in my cheek? That kinda stings...

Monty feuded with Lance Hoyt and Jeff Hardy before his current feud with Christian. He is supposed to be a heel, but because of TNA's heavily faithful live audience, they cheer wrestlers based on their personal favorites, ignoring TNA's storylines. It's really hurting their shows, and it would be best for TNA to expand out of just the Impact Zone.

Don't most people with any sense ignore their storylines?

I'm hoping Monty Wins, next PPV wins the title...and then the Christian Monty feud for the NWA Title heats up.

Monty's retardednhess makes Eugene seem normal.

I don't know what it is... but every time he comes out he just strikes me as a big mentally handicapped guy.

Yeah, but unlike Eugene, it's FUN to watch this retard.

As long as Eugene doesn't do the pounce, I'm good.

I'm sorry but I can't take anything with Monty Brown seriously. This guy's pounce makes Scotty 2 Hotty's worm look deadly. It's just a shoulder block, it's been around since I thought wrestling was real. Monty looks pretty bad ass, looks like he can toss people around with ease, and yet he does the goddamn pounce.

Hoyt is a poor mans Test.

Although the moonsault he does is quite impressive.

So don't take it seriously. Does shit have to be seriousfor yo uto enjoy it? Did you hate DX?

Shit does not have to be serious for me to enjoy it, no.
For example, The Boogeyman. He's coming to GET CHA! This is funny. Same with Simon Dean and Eugene.

Teh worm is decent because Scotty 2 Hotty is a joke. Let's face it- this man is NOT going to win the world heavyweight title any time soon... But what title is Monty Brown aiming for? The big one in TNA... with his BAHGAWD STUNNER SHOULDER BLOCK OF DOOM!!!!!!

And the People's Elbow is a deadly finisher? Mr Socko? The Leg Drop?

The Pounce sucks.

Lemme ask you this... Does Monty Brown have half the mic skills as The Rock? Can he work the crowd like The Rock? Now I don't want to give The Rock any more credit than I have to but he made an arena erupt with the People's elbow. The people's elbow sucked in my eyes, but I'd be lying if I said I never marked out to it.

Before it was a sock, the madable (sp?) claw was seen as a very painful hold. All the nerves under your tounge are all but exposed. It hurts like hell. Since it's now a sock it's kinda like a portable stink face... I never said Iw as good at metaphors.

The Leg Drop... When Hogan first started using the leg drop it was back in a time where he could get away with a lame finisher. Nowadays I'll say the leg drop sucks, but you try saying that when Markoutmania was running wild.

Any other questions?

Wrestling is all about show.

As long as the move looks good which most of the time the Pounce does, it's fine.

Nope. Does anyone in TNA? Doesn't stop him being being entertaining, poor finisher or not.

But The Pounce never looks good.

I'm not at all opposed to finishers like this... I actually like JBL's Clothline from Hell.

The difference is, the Clothline from Hell looks like it would hurt.

The Pounce only seems deadly because the people who get hit flop around overselling it too much, and because the announcers are going "SDFHNSDFJDGJVDBXJJGDFJ!!!! POOOOOOOUNCEEEEE!!!! SRFJDRFKESGJ!!!!"

Monty is also horrible on the microphone. I just want to laugh at him every time he talks.

Also...he needs to learn that if he's going to be an Alpha Male...he shouldn't be on the Seringetti.

I'll admit sometimes it doesn't look good, but most of the time it does.

Take the one he did on Christian on Impact in the segment I was talking about, that Pounce looked good. Personally I would rather have people overselling the move then just taking it like a normal shoulder block.

Christian should definately win this match, but have him cheat so Monty can keep some momentum, and Christian can look more like he did in the WWE. Do you know how awful it would look if a guy that played a cowardly heel got his ass kicked every night in the WWE, then in TNA he kicks everyone ass? It puts TNA further down the food chain.

I'm personally hoping for a Rhino vs. Christian Cage feud to come out of this, even though Jarrett dropping the title to "The Man Beast" again seems unlikely.

I mark for the pounce, because when it's done right, it looks like he could kill somebody with it.

The idea is that he's a former NFL player, he's a big, strong, quick guy, and when he hits you with that fucking tackle you're done for. It's NOT a regular shoulder block, because with a regular shoulderblock it's usually hit head-to-head, and the guy getting hit usually just flatbacks. The pounce is more about impact: he hits the guy coming from the side (like a running back or reciever gets tackled), and sends them flying with this huge momentum driving move.

I think it's awesome.

I don't, but I can understand why people would pop for a charismatic wretler pulling his finishing move, no matter how GAY.

Monty has raw Charisma. I should roll my eyes when he speaks, but I love it.

The guy will never be the Rock, but with some work he could be a solid worker and an excellent mic man. I'll say it now, he could be fucking huge.

TNA doesn't seem too worried about improving though.

McLegend

I think TNA is doing the best they can with him at this point in time. Only having an hour and trying to squeeze in pretty much the enitre roster in that one hour is almost impossible. So it's not entirely TNA's fault.

I do argee that Monty Brown has the potential to be huge.
