Sting is coming. They didn't even state it either. Just showed a scorpian apparantly.
Well done, TNA! (im being sarcastic if anyone can't notice)

Well, to be more exact...
The lights went out, and different graphics of a scorpion appeared on the screens in the building. A spotlight then appeared in the center of the ring, where a chair was set up with a leather coat, a pair of boots, and a black baseball bat. The house lights came back on, and Jarrett looked at the stuff in the middle of the ring, dumbfounded, while the announcers speculated that this must mean Sting is returning. The crowd was chanting "Sting" when the lights were out, but grew quiet when Sting wasn't actually there when the lights came back on.
But yeah, still weak

Didn't see that one coming...
Couldn't they add a bit more mystery behind it? Make it a lady bug or something and replace the bat with a 2x4.
People would think that a gay emo Jim Duggan was coming to TNA.

Jim Duggan: Male Gigolo
Gives new meaning to the term HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Seriously, though, the popups at PWInsider are obscene. I can't see a thing on that page.

lol! I can see it now.
*Slapnuts is in the ring and the lights go out, a ton of illusions to Sting are made*
Fan A: OH SHIT, STING, THIS IS GONNA GET GOOD
Rest of Fans: HOLY SHIT, HE'S RIGHT!
*The fans begin to wake up, growing excited and chanting for Sting and the lights come back with the fans buzzing*
Fan A: Oh wait, I was wrong, Still only Double J :(
Rest of Fans in unison: Oh :(
*The fans go back the cheering the heels and booing the faces for no reason. Then progress into their typical chant*
All fans: BUT OUR RING HAS SIX SIDES *Clap clap clap clap clap* BUT OUR RING HAS SIX SIDES *clap clap clap clap clap*
AJ Styles sitting the the back nodding like an idiot: That's right, six sides baby

Gay emo? Isn't that redundant?
It signifies that he's gayer than an emo.
Kane Knight

That's pretty fucking gay
Anyways,
It gives away the surprise to everyone but the biggest retards, and even they can ask their 24 hour-a-day "special helper" what the scorpion means (inbetween fits of drooling). They just shouldn't have called it an "announcement," they should've just called it a "major event" or something. Whatever. Sting rules.
HeartBreakMan2k
12-12-2005, 01:52 AM
They shouldn't have promoted that sort of bullshit period. Should have just let it be a suprise, and then after a few weeks of build have him reandomly show up, then promote him.

Believe it or not, there are issues beyond whether or not the fans have seen or rememberd Sting. He was lackluster before, and now more time has passed.
Please, people, don't be so fucking linear. If you really think the issue that worries me is the fans having seen him before in TNA, you need to sit on Tookie's lap. :p

You see, You just complained about us complaining about TNA. Why? Not because you could defend its merits, but because it's competition. That's not just gay, not just retarded, that's fucking gaytarded. The notion that we should like TNA because it's analternative is a ginourmous slice of gaytardation, in the same ballpark as Sadistic.
A lot of these people were even praising TNA in threads made by me an PMF. And because we don't drop trou every time TNA does something, you try and call it a double standard.

You know, if they're trying to appeal to a larger group of people, become a viable TV promotion, and MOST people have problems with it, wouldn't that imply that they weren't "overreacting," that maybe they're onto something?
Jaton
12-13-2005, 12:47 AM
No. I'm not saying they're improving. If anything, they tend to annoy me with useless guys like the Diamonds in the Rough. It's just frustrating to see people not even give the competition a chance. Don't even put me in the same fucking ballpark as Sadistic. I'm not praising dumb pieces of shit who set themselves on fire to get a reaction from 5 people, and I'm not trashing WWE at every turn in favor of CZW.
I'm simply stating that people complain too much about TNA. I've seen people whine and bitch about the pyro, production, and themes of TNA. It's like..what do you seriously fucking expect from a small organization?

Now, if you were smart, you'd realise we are asking this of a televised organisation. One which is expected not to look like crap. Presentation and production are important parts of wrestling. Waht, you think the Rock was number one because of his fantastic Sharpshooter? That Monty Brown's mat skills have him up there? That the theme music of a wrestler doesn't affect the tone of the crowd? That production quality doesn't matter in a "sport" that's so much about image?
What do we expect? We expect them to act like they're on TV, not wrestling in a backyard for the pleasure of Jeff Jarrett and Dusty Rhodes. We expect them to book like they want a TV spot, like they deserve a TV spot, like they care about their product. We exxpect them to not half-ass so many elements of their show. Pyro's expensive, but it's not hard to get DECENT theme music. You could actually get licensed songs form small-time artists cheap, or pay one of the thousands of people out there who compose this sort of shit for a living. Get your own James Johnston.
We expect the camera to look like it's NOT being held my Michael J Fox or a guy on a mechanicl bull. Most of these expectations are not that high for a televised promotion.
Maybe TNA just doesn't deserve its spot. Your argument seems to indicate it's not big enough to step up to the "big kids table."

They needed to give JJ a legit win before Christian, so they did it right. If Christian came in and took the Title right away, that would of been like the 4th Title change in 2 months or something.
But now that Sting is here, Christian may have to wait again
jerichoholic169

isn't it going to be christian - JJ at the next PPV??
TNA is definitely improving - im quite enjoying the whole Raven storyline with signing his release. They just need to build up their storylines more than they have been doing. Which would probably be helped by having two hours every week rather than just the one. Just need to stop doing the gimmick matches all the time like Ultimate X and teach their wrestlers to sell a lot more.

TNA does book matches right. The only thing they did wrong was having Rhyno win at Turning Point, but they have made up for it nicely.
Even if it is Sting/Jarret at next PPV it won't be that bad as long as Sting doesn't win it.

Can find this on the bottom of the page Here (http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=14995)
--TNA will be taping 3 1/2 hours of television tomorrow night in Orlando. That will be Impact for 12/17 and 12/24 as well as a special New Year's Eve deal. The 12/31 show will air a few hours earlier than the normal 11 p.m. I think either 8 or 9 p.m. but we'll have it later. They will shoot a couple of angles on the show and come back after a UFC New Year's Eve special with a 30 minute show at midnight, featuring "the first wrestling match of 2006." They are doing a storyline where they can't contractually announce the big surprise and the debut of Sting until 2006, so the idea is they'll make the announcement right after midnight, and probably announce the next PPV main event at that point.

Also, if the matches are booked well, we should see some clear and strong faces and heels. Monty doens't look like a strong or clear heel. He looks strong, but he doesn't put across the heel concept well IMO.
Christian's a strong face, but he walked into the company that way.
Jarrett's getting X-Pac heat...
Sting'll get over as a face easily enough, but again, that's not through strength of booking...
...In fact, it looks like the people who get over do it despite the booking, not because of it.

Exactly, and that's just absurd thinking on their part. With all the people they have booking the storylines, is there not ONE person that sits back and evaluates it all and says "we keep repeating the same shit week after week, month after month, and half of this shit doesn't even make sense?!"

Yeah, but he was fired.

Waht I'd like to see is Sting come in and gun for someone unexpected, but with a good reason. He's wrestled in TNA before and has wrestled in WCW for a LONG time. Surely they can pull off a reason that's not just "I want the belt!"
Or, at least not just "I show up and have a shot at your title!"
PEople SHOULD want the belt. Just every newbie getting a shot is so stupid and redone. If it hadn't beeen done so often, it'd make more sense...Sting is a BIG FUCKING DEAL. But if they intro him v the champion, it'll look stupid...Not because he's not big enough, but because every newbie can do it.
