Random AIM question

On my AIM back home, when I'm talking to someone and they sign off, or go to away message, or go idle or whatever, it pop ups in blue text in the IM window telling me that. I have AIM on my laptop and that shit doesnt happen. I can't find where the option is, I keep looking and I am probably just not seeing it. I don't mean the MSN style pop ups either on the side of the screen, I'm talking about in the IM window itself.

If anyone could help a brothaaa out, that'd be cool.

Ok found it easy.

Go to:

My AIM > Edit Options > Preferences > IM/Chat/Mobile > Check off 'Show notifications for users on my buddy list' in the box on the left.
