Thanks to Adam Hughes and Mike Rossi for the following:
Dark Matches/Velocity
Sylvain def Springfield jobber
Doug Basham def Worcester jobber
Jamie Knoble def Boston jobber
William Regal def. Scotty 2 Hotty with help from Paul Burchill (crowd was nuts for Scotty, don't know why)
Orlando Jordan def. Funaki
Brian Kendrick and Paul London def. two jobbers
Simon Dean promo mid-ring, insults Springfield crowd, talks about how he hates XMas, bah humbug.
-Sorry I didn't catch the names of these guys, as Tony Chimmel was tough to hear over the hot crowd early on.
Smackdown
The Boogeyman def. Nunzio (w/ Vito) in a major squash
Randy Orton is shown back stage, talking to his father, Bob Orton, who recommends that he see a shrink. Orton obliges, and is next shown laying on a couch talking to the shrink, an older man with a beard. The shrink asks Randy what he's got to prove and that this 'Hell in a Cell' is a matter of life and death. Randy thinks about what the shrink said.
Batista is shown backstage, and Melina enters and begins rubbing his shoulder and chest. She kisses him, and Batista grabs her on his lap, as she grinds him, and they make out as the screen fades to black.
Screen comes back and Melinda is shown fixing her hair, insinuating that Batista tapped that ass, and says something to the effect of asking Batista if the match with him and Rey tonight against her MNM is off. He laughs and tells her he's going to 'kill those guys.'
Kid Kash def. Super Crazy with brainbuster. After the match, Kash attempts another brainbuster on a chair, but Juventud and Psychosis save Crazy.
Batista and Rey Mysterio def. MNM to win the tag team titles. Rey played the victim the entire match, made the hot tag to Batista, who finished off I belive Johnny Nitro for the win.
Bobby Lashley def. Paul Burchill in a squash.
Randy Orton is shown backstage talking to his father, and tells him that he has made a decision and will share it with the crowd later tonight.
Matt Hardy promo backstage with black lady interviewer, and is interrupted by JBL, who punches Hardy. After JBL begins talking, Hardy attacks JBL and they brawl on the ground before its broken up by officials
Hardy and JBL is shown on the screen announced for Armageddon.
The Dicks def. LOD when Heidenrech was pinned with a top rop legdrop.
JBL comes out to do commentary for the Matt Hardy/Booker T match.
Booker T def. Matt Hardy after JBL gave Hardy a clothesline from hell on the outside when Sharmell distracted the ref. (Sharmell came out with a broom, signifying the sweep on Benoit. Note, there was NO mention of Benoit on the show. Very pissed off about that).
Randy Orton comes out and announces his retirement. He says that he has killed many legends, and has since realized that nobody can kill the legend of the Undertaker. He says that he is going to kill another legend tonight, his own. Cue Undertaker music. Druids come out, followed by the Taker. Crowd went NUTS live. Taker walks into the ring, druids leave, except for one, who holds up an urn. Taker looks towards Druid, while Orton blindsides Taker and kicks him in the balls. Orton attacks Taker with an RKO, yet Taker gets up. Orton grabs a chair and destroys Taker, yet he gets up once again. The druid takes off the hood and its Bob Orton. Randy grabs the urn from his daddy and nails Taker, who this time does not get up. Randy grabs the microphone and tells Taker he'll see him this Sunday at Armageddon. End of show.
Afterwards, Taker just got up to his music and slowly walked back as Chimmel thanked us for coming.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
WTF? Mexicools have lost their title shot, if their still fighting at Armageddon, what's the point now?
Hell Rey Mysterio wins the tag belt a lot, all with different partners.
Otherwise seems like a good show.

Strange show. I thought for sure Benoit was winning at Armageddon, but to not even mention him on the show is unusual. And I really didn't think that Rey and Batista would win the tag titles. No mention of Kane and Big Show interfering. And with the way UPN is, that Batista/Melina segment will be edited.

Batista. Taps that ass AND becomes double champ.
Great logic there. Just like how chairshots and RKO's can't keep a guy down, but a hit with an URN will.
I'm glad they didnt make Orton be a pussy and run. Orton is moving up in my book. I really like this fued with Taker. They are really putting Orton over big time. I think that match is gunna be amazing.

Batista is so awesome. Sounds exactly like something his character would do. :y:
I hope they ammend the MNM vs. Mexicools match at Armageddon, and make it a Tag Team Turmoil. Adding Paul London & Brian Kendrick, LOD, Nunzio & Jamie Noble (have them team together, and Vito get squashed by Boogeyman on the card), Funaki & Scotty 2 Hotty, Doug Basham & Orlando Jordan (JBL can remember Doug's name now there is only one Basham on SmackDown!), The Dicks and William Regal & Paul Burchill only highlights the importance of the Champions vs. Champions match later that night. Hell, have the titles unified and the Champions appear on both shows. Plus a TTT would kill time on the show, which the WWE needs to do.
What Would Kevin Do?
12-14-2005, 04:15 AM
Actually, I like this set up.
At the ppv, Kane and Big Show injure Batista. They beat on Rey, ref gets knocked out, Mexicools make the save, help Rey win.
Next card, Batista and Rey Vs Super Crazy and Psychosis. No Batista, so Rey goes in on his own... TO be fair, the Mexicools only fight Rey one on one.... Until Rey almost wins, then they basically say fuck it, and actually start tagging... Rey almost wins anyway, then Juvi interferes. Mexicools win, and then rey and Juvi can feud for a bit. While it may not be the popular idea, put the CW title on Rey for a bit. Give it some meaning. Then have someone like Kendrick or Psychosis be the one to dethrone him. Get the division moving.
Meanwhile, Batista is out injured, and is stripped of his title. WHen he comes back, Rey wants to team back up for old times, but Batista wants his belt back, so he denies. Rey is hurt, but understands... At the rumble, have it down to Batista and some peeps... Someone gets "hurt" and the refs tend to them. In the meantime, Rey rushes from the back and eliminates Batista illegally, causing mass amounts of Boos... Except none of the refs see it, so Batista comes back in and wins.
Have Rey claim Batista only cares about himself and is selfish, yadda yadda. Maybe even have Rey cost Batista the title match at Mania, and go on to have Batista and Rey feud.
About the urn thing: Well, when you think about it, as Taker keeps getting beaten on, he'd be getting up slower and slower as he takes more damage.
Either that, or the urn has powers (that'd actually make some sense).=/

Thanks to Adam Hughes and Mike Rossi for the following:
Jamie Knoble def Boston jobber
Bobby Lashley def. Paul Burchill in a squash.
:foc:
Why the fuck did Batista and Rey win the Tag Titles? Do they need them? And what was the point in building MNM Vs. The Mexicools over the tag titles just to throw the point of that feud away on a whim? So the Mexicools, who earned the right to challenge for the belts, have no title shot.
Good Stuff WWE. Fucking idiots.

So is the match on Sunday titles v titles now?

12-14-2005, 10:44 AM
You guys are missing the point, they are unifying the tag titles onto one show... this could be a good thing.
Thing is, unless they announce that after the title switch, they have no way to hype that, which makes it truly pointless to switch the belts.
If they do unify the belts, SD better fuckin win.

Smackdown has a WAAAY better Tag Team Division than Raw, SD better win.
SD's Tag Teams:
MNM.
Mexicools.
LOD.
Regal & Burchill.
The Dicks.
London and Kendrick.
Batista & Rey.
RAW's Tag Division:
Big Show & Kane.
Hearthrobs.
Snitsky & Tomko.
Venis & Vis.
Smackdown's division is WAAAY better.

I can identify those jobbers from my sources
Doug Basham defeated Handsome Johnny.
Jamie Noble defeated Thomas Penmanship.
Brian Kendrick and Paul London defeated Arch Kincaid (CW) and Scotty Charisma (ECWA)
Sylvan defeated Ken Doane, a match referee'd by Todd Sinclair.
Kofi Nahaje Kingston and Max Bauer were used as druids.
All those guys except Scotty Charisma are people from my wrestling school. HAHA!
I might be missing something but where does it say that the tag titles will be unified?
So we can expect to see you doing the job to the Boogeyman soon, Porksoda ;)

My beef with this is that if they wanted to unify the titles then they should have built it up for the rumble. Also it just hurts an already weak undercard by taking away the title match. Mexicools and MNM had a pretty good fued going on but it was centered around the titles.
Don't see why the didn't have the match as it was and have MNM retain at Armagedon. Then the next week on Smackdown have Batista and Rey win the titles. Big Show and Kane come out and say that no one on Raw can match them as a tag team and they want to show that they are the most dominante team in WWE history by destroying Smackdown's division. This leads to Rey and Batista vs Big show and Kane for the unified tag titles.
This could also get Rey over big if he pulls double duty and does well in the rumble. They want to give him a big match at WM and they could set something up in the Rumble for him vs Orton or if they want to get him over huge have him win and face Batista at WM.

That MNM/Batista & Mysterio match was pretty sweet. One of the better Tag matches I have seen on SD or RAW in a while.

Good SmackDown, even though I fell asleep during the Tag Title match. To be fair, though, I was actually just really tired and comfortable and lost it for a couple of minutes. Thank God they replay everything 75 times, right?
I like the champions vs. champions set-up at Armageddon. This saves MNM vs. Mexicools for a bigger show (Rumble), and makes the Rey/Bats/Show/Kane match even more meaningful. It's like saying "Okay, you guys are sending your best team to invade our show, well here's ours!"
Still not entirely sold on Boogeyman. The entrance is great, and the character is pretty good, but the worm thing seems really unnecessary. It's like they were sitting around thinking "Okay, so he comes out with a big smoking stick, his face is painted, he shakes like an epileptic, and he has very few teeth. I just don't think he's wacky enough! Let's add worms!" Yeah, we get it. He's a freak. Marty Wright does a good job with the character, but it really seems like they're trying too hard. Just let the guy be creepy without turning all of his matches into an episode of Fear Factor.
Is Rey going to thank Eddie every time he wins now? I mean, it's a cool gesture and all, but geez, give the guy some time to enjoy Heaven. He just got there, you don't need to be calling him down every week.
I'm slightly disturbed by how much Kid Kash reminds me of a young Owen Hart as far as his mannerisms go. I can totally see him beating Juvy on Sunday after kicking his leg out of his...leg (because he's so damn SELFISH!).
The Batista/Melina stuff was great. Like Alienoid06 said, this is exactly the sort of thing Dave Batista the character would do.
As much as I've disliked most of the RKO/UT feud up until this point, tonight actually got me excited about it for the first time since...Wrestlemania? Anyway, if WWE drops the ball on Orton finally going over on the big man and ending this feud once and for all on Sunday, then... Well, I guess I won't be all that surprised.
Did they just remove the LOD/Dicks match from the broadcast, or did I doze off and not even notice? Or maybe that happened while I switched over to the Pistons game for a couple of minutes and didn't realize they'd come back from commercial.

Dude... that Batista/Rey vs MNM match was absolutely amazing. THE best tag match of the year IMO.
I'm gonna post a thread about it, so more on the match later.
I missed Boogeyman... :( But his character is meant to be intentionally stupid, gay, over the top, insane, and illogical. It's a self spoof in a way.
At least that's how I see it.
....and now they're advertising an Eddie Guerrero autobiography. Interesting... Is this a new book or an old one? Like the video, it's also called Cheating Death, Stealing Life

So...
They're probably gonna do the Rey/Eddie thing almost every night from now on into the forseeable future. They're pimping a book noww, and it won't go away. Especially not with the Eddie chants still fresh.
The Boogeyman worm bit reeks of "trying too hard." It's not really an element Ifind amusing at all, and I love the gimmick.
Tonight really made me want to "Smack my TV."

Dammit I figured I had missed a pretty good show last night. I live in the Lansing MI UPN market, which carries UPN 18 (WHTV) and UPN 50-DETROIT (WKBD), but WHTV's signal was out for most of yesterday...still don't know if it's back up or not, and the Detroit affiliate just showed some bunch of WB crap...well at least this thread helped a little, although I did SO want to watch last night :'( :nono:
