View Full Version : Why are they trying to make flair look like a M.E.?

Suriously Angle should have beaten him easily with no dirty finish.

It's Flair. And his career alone allows him to be a full time main eventer, no matter what.
Flair's been eating his spinach obviously.

Foley is GOD. That is all the reason needed.
And when the Lord of Flannel demands sweaty manboobs, he gets them!
Ric Flair is GOD. That is all the reason needed.
And the 50+ Flair is God... Why?
Would you put him in the main event at 80?

I would. He paid his dues...
Of course...At the same time Joan of Arc paid hers, but still...

So long as Flair can keep drawing fans, still perform better then half the roster, yeah I guess so.
Vince paid his dues and the God of wrestling Gods. Why not just give him the title and put him in a permanent main event spot?

Flair just doesn't do it for me anymore. I wouldn't have such a problem if they kept every title on him. Main event him if you want (but not be in THE main event spot on PPVs) but keep him away from titles.

OK...so Flair doesn't hold the IC Title, who gets it? Shelton? Carlito? Those are the only two I can think of that would make any sense. However Carlito is going to Elimination Chamber and Shelton is waiting to fued with HBK. I say Flair does a fine job as IC Champ...and when he and Batista held the Tag Titles they made a fucking great team. Basically from what I have read this IC Title run is kind of a test to see if people would buy him as Championship matterial to see if he can get another reigns with "The Big One". I say Flair makes one billion times a better Champion then Hogan, and WWE gave him as reign and main event PPV spot (several of them actually)...so why not?
My final argument...Flair > Cena.

It was more about Angle getting a cheap win, and get some heat. If Angle is gonna cheat to win mine as well be against Flair.

They should build angle up so he can put cena over or win the title.
or maybe..............Cena can barely beat angle who can barely beat Flair who got beat by HHH.......I see where they're going.

They want Angle to get booed though so they pretty much have to go this way.

Potential people to take the IC title away from Flair WITH a bit of buildup (not including Carlito and Shelton): Masters, Murdoch, Kane... Of course, I'd start building this after NYR and go until at least Feb, maybe into Mania.
Putting the WWE/world title on Flair will be a HUGE mistake. He does NOT belong in the fucking ring with a fucking title. So what, he was (and, arguably still is) a good wrestler. Maybe Dusty can still wrestle. Let's throw Flair and Dusty into a WWE title feud. Or Steamboat. Or Funk. Let's go for nostalgia.
Fuck 20+ year old nostalgia in the main event. I wouldn't even want Austin or Rock with a title now. Fuck that.

I don't get it. If you're saying he wrestles and he wrestles well, why shouldn't he hold a title?
Oh, shit. I forgot this is wrestling. My bad.
A great wrestler being a champion makes no sense. You're right. Carry on.
For the same reason Hulk Hogan shouldn't.
Yeah, he's a huge draw, but should he have another run with a title while holding others down when he's already at the very top of the mountain?
There are plenty of wrestlers who could have brought prestige back to the IC title. Instead they go the easy way out and clearly make it seem that the IC title doesn't mean shit. Wow, Flair has defended his title, what, twice?
Push some new guys, push people who should be pushed. Val Venis, Masters, Helms, Carlito, Shelton, Daivari...
Oh, wait, that's right, we should all go on a nostalgic trip down memory lane which will inevitably lead no one nowhere. No one cares about the next generation of wrestlers (which is what the IC title is supposed to make). It's all about the good old times that never will be again, right?

Flair really isn't THAT great in the ring anymore. He's all right, I guess. Watchable at best. But he's really not that great. Can't even take a proper back bump. I'd take the belt off him if it were up to me.

Erm, the Intercontinental Title being held by a veteran, especially as decorated as Ric Flair, only stands to add prestige to it, in my view. I just don't see what's so horrible about having him hold it.
Val Venis needs to go on a pretty massive winning streak in order to be taken seriously again.
Masters, while I think he sucks, should be built slowly if they want him to be a part of the future of the company.
Helms needs a few more wins.
Carlito I could see with it, but not to the point where I'm willing to whine about Flair having it FOR NOW.
Daivari apparently isn't really being pushed as a wrestler STILL. Why is beyond me, but whatever. Since when are referees Intercontinental Champions?

Dude, Flair in his prime "couldn't even take a proper back bump". That didn't stop him. John Cena can't even do a Belly-to-Back Suplex. Is that stopping him?

Well, I've never really been a big Flair fan, so I may be a bit biased. Regardless, the amount of offense that Flair can take is limited. All of his matches seem to be back drops and chop battles. Really not that exciting. I promise.

The thing is I'm not a Flair fan either. But to say he can't take offense? Shit, in these last two matches with Triple H, he's taken more offense than most of the WWE roster in the last six months.

That is a downright ridiculous claim.
Just WATCH a Flair match these days....there's just something about them that simply doesn't LOOK right to me. Maybe it's not the offense, for I haven't the most critical of an eye when it comes to what's going well in a wrestling match all the time. But it just looks awkward with him more often than not. To me. That is my opinion.

A ridiculous claim with such a weak statement as a comeback? Just watch damn near any match these days.
I'll give you that Flair's matches are all the same thing. I'll give you a bunch of stuff, since I'm not a Flair fan, like I said, but the guy can still take a beating and keep going.

BEcause Flair looks weak. It's kind of hard to look strong when you're losing to someone who doesn't really look strong.
