Hello everyone and welcome to the 4th annual tipsters league results!
The Creme de la Creme have joined us here tonight in the TPWW arena to hear these results, which have quite literally been a year in the making, I'd like to thank myself and of course my partner in crime Tornado and (to a much lesser extend, but if I don't mention it he'll bitch about the Armageddon thread) of course Cockscrewed........i mean Corckscrewed.
So with over 40 original entrants and many MANY disputes over the points system with regards to last minute changes and how we the markers deem the points should be given, we have finally come to this historic moment in TPWW's history.
And the winner is...........
*opens envelope*
Oh Shit!
TORNADO!
Unfortunately Tornado can't be with us as it's reported he's now decided to retire on top and has since moved to Mexico with a huge briefcase filled with un-marked bills.
Here's the final table:

Now this is really REALLY bad timing after Corcky's TPWW xmas bash thread in which he makes out that we cheated, I swear to god this is how it turned out! Tornado got a perfect on the last PPV and that got him to the finish line.
Now please don't send me mail bombs over this, I know it looks bad, Tornado was due to do this as the last PPV was his to report on, but seeing how close he was to the top I thought I'd do it, to be impartial.
Well folks, there you have, if you can find it in your hearts, please congratulate Tornado in his success. And a rep for me wouldn't go a miss either, we don't get paid for this!
The new sign up thread will be up within the next week for all you newbs, so keep an out
Dave out! (to join Tornado in Mexico :shifty: )

I told you they rigged it.
Congratulations, Mr. Cyclonic Brit. I'll get you next year!!! :D
Also, in all non-bitching seriousness, I'd like to propose two suggestions for next year:
1. Come up with a completely consistent scoring system. I only say that because at the beginning of this year, you guys scored the "winning move" as an additional five points, but later dropped that. I actually kinda like that feature, because it makes perfect scores practically impossible to get and thus incredible to get. And given the predictability of some of the PPV's we've had this year, it would add a wild card element. :)
2. Drop the lowest (and highest if you want to be fair) scores from the total. Yes, this would complicate your lives, but the idea is that this would allow people the luxury of missing a PPV, in case stuff happens. That way, we're not pressured to always remember all 49 PPV's they hold.
Anyway, just suggestions. You can take them, or leave them, but I wanted to thank you two for actually following through with this all year and not copping out.
:)

All suggestions for the 2006 League are more than welcome. I totally agree with your point on consistancy, we'll probably have three catgories for each match now, Winner/Method/Deciding Move.
We'll also be doing bonus predictions for the Royal Rumble the same as last year, like the last four, and the random pick. Me and Dave need to have a chat sometime soon to finalize the details and decide on entry criteria, and I want to make everything a bit more consistant for 2006. We'll definalty have a sign up thread going before Christmas.

If it's like last years, you have to have at least 500 posts, and you must sign up before the first ppv. That, and I think we need a special "No retards" rule.

I was kind of wondering this myself - particularly since I had thought it would be counted up at the end of the year (since titles could change between now and then, even if it's not on PPV).

I've looked back at the Champions Predictions thing, and as things stand, the maximum anyone would be scoring from that is 20 points, and most people have Cena and Trish down for a belt, so unless something major happens, it won't make any difference.
