alright..the Royal Rumble is coming up again, and I just wanted to see the different views on who you think has a shot of winning it this year.
Personally, I think of the Following
Rey Rey (everyone knows he's gettin that push...maybe this is it?)
Orton (youngest world champ....has had a good rivalry)
Undertaker (might be his last run, I mean hell who knows!?!)
Lashley (if they want to make him into another freakin brock lesnar)
Orton.
Or....................................
CHRIS FUCKING JERICHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orton will win it, sadly
Volare

also thinking about it i hope HHH dosent win it cause then its gonna be the same old domination of the WWE thing......the only thing the Royal Rumble match could do IF he's in it (cause he's facing big show) is give him a rivalry untill Wrestlemania
Jericho would be bad ass

I doubt Undertaker would enter the rumble as WWE don't want him main eventing Wrestlemania, and if someone throws him out, it would hurt his 'character' apparently.

Undertaker has been in many Rumbles has he not?
I'd love to see Jericho win it. Or one last HBK run.
I do fear that HHH or Orton will win, or somebody else like Edge that would disappoint many people.

Somebody unexpected should win it...
Batista was so bloody obvious!
Chris benoit wasn't obvious so somebody like that...
Chris masters maybe... a mid carder
CharismaInjection
12-24-2005, 02:05 PM
Uh...Chris Benoit was bloody obvious sorry, Extreme Angle.
I can't believe you suggested Chris Masters, to MAIN EVENT WRESTLE 'F'IN' MANIA!!!!
Yes, but I meant Taker now, he didn't enter last year, and he's got even less jobbing in his old age.
What about Booker T?
He's had a heel turn, won the US title and been feuding with Beniot for a while now. Now he's in the spotlight again, maybe they're gonna push him till WM. Even though he's probably gonna have his 7th match at RR, he worth a shout compared to the obvious candidates.

and what about masters he's being pushed isn't he...

I would think Orton, to face Batista at Mania.
But hell, who can predict WWE booking?

If you watched SD properlly, you'd realize there was no one on RAW who looked like they were going to win at all, and Benoit was pushing really hard for it. I've looked back and everyone here expected him to win.
Masters hasn't even won a belt! He's been here less than a year, there is no way in hell he'd be main eventing Wrestlemania, Masters push isn't THAT dramatic. He's just there for Cena to pin. To main event WM is truelly an honour to wrestlers, even if they lose, I just don't see Masters being there.

It'll be Orton. They've teased Orton/Batista off and on for a while now, and RR is when they'll finally pull the trigger.

It was obvious but everyone kind of wanted it, saw it coming but didnt trust WWE not to fuck it up.
Its kinda like in the days leading up to WM and everyone was picking Benoit but "just knowing WWE was going to fuck it up" myself included. That sort of feeling was what made RR, and WM that year so magical I feel, no one seemed ready to accept it would happen no matter how obvious or how much we wanted to see it.

Oh and I am picking a rank outsider in Shelton Benjamin for the sheer fact that I want to see it not because its gonna happen.
I would love to see WEW take a guy who is over but then make him a star through the Rumble instead of taking a star and doing a lazy push to mania.
They did it last year with Batista and I would love to see them try it with a heel Shelton this year, I think Cena vs. Shelton could be good, and Angle vs. Shelton would be even better.

Why is everybody so dead set against Orton these days? He's one of the best guys in the company right now IMO. Funny how everybody turns their backs so quickly.
I, for one, think Orton winning is really that only thing that makes sense.

RKO should win the rumble. Batista vs Orton would be great

I might be wrong, but would Orton Batista beat out Angle Lesnar for the main event of Mania in regards to guys who have been in the company the shortest amount of time and main events mania?

12-25-2005, 04:27 AM
I have no problem with Orton (not a hue fan anymore but I dont watch SD much) but he is in a position to go and main event WM anyway as he is the only really top line heel on SD right now.
Raw on the other hand seems jam packed with guys and they need something to set a guy apart from the pack to really give it that Mania feel, winning the Rumble does that for a guy.

I like Randy Orton, but I honestly don't want to see him win it because it would be so damn predictable. Give us a surprise winner.
Chris Jericho (not scheduled to return, but if he did want to return, winning the Rumble is the perfect way to do it)
The Rock (not even under WWE contract, but the Rumble is in Miami, so it would get a huge reaction, even if he was just going to work the Rumble and the Mania main event)
Chris Benoit (the first repeat winner since Stone Cold Steve Austin back in 2001, would be unexpected)
Booker T (not entirely likely, but no one has been really built up, except Orton, but with Armageddon one has to wonder...)
Big Show (I don't know why, but a lot of people like the Big Show, plus like it or not he can be a draw)
Ken Doane (extremely unlikely, but if they want to do something virtually unfathomable, this is it)
Paul London (if they want to make me happy, they can have him win the Rumble, highlight the fact he is Shawn Michaels' student, and have him challenge either Kurt Angle or Shawn Michaels)
LMAO! Yeah...right. A cruiserweight getting a push...
Rey Mysterio (alright I lied, I can see this guy getting a push)
Matt Hardy (why not, fans like him...he was supposed to be used better when he returned, you know, so this wouldn't sound completely stupid)
NICK DINSMORE! (don't know why, but it would be awesome if he did)
DOUG BASHAM! (I am a huge Doug Basham mark, again not grounded in reality)
PAUL BURCHILL (see above two)
William Regal (if there is any justice in the world, he will win a World Title)
Christian (surprise return, if they can somehow get him out of TNA contract)
OK, disregard the last lot.
Shawn Michaels (for some weird reason, I can see them doing this)
The Undertaker (just so they can build up Batista as unbeaten at WrestleMania, and the unstoppable force, while The Undertaker is unbeaten at WrestleMania and the immovable object)

Orton - They've been teasing it for a while
Rey - Last eliminating Kurt Angle to set up a later fued between the two for when Rey gets drafted to Raw or Kurt gets drafted back to SD!
Shawn Michaels - One last run at the top
Angle - So they can get this Angle/Cena feud over with
Booker T - Tell me I didn't just say that
Triple H - Because he's Triple H
Kane - He's always had strong showings in the Rumble, and he deserves a big push

Because everybody except him Mysterio and The Undertaker are tied up in lower-card angles, and Orton has been rumoured to be winning it since prior to Survivor Series.

Nobody, but no one has been built up there. It's sort of like the Chris Benoit 2004 situation. Benoit got all the momentum heading into the 2004 Royal Rumble, right now the favourite is Randy Orton. Believe me, I would much rather be surprised and have a RAW guy win it (preferbly not John Cena or Triple H).
Mr. Nerfect
12-26-2005, 10:23 PM
I would love it if the Rumble focused on everyone in the match instead of just the main guy to win it like it has been over the last few years. Show promos on RAW and SmackDown! that let us believe Shawn Michaels, Carlito, John Cena, Big Show, Chris Benoit, Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, etc. all have an equal shot at winning. Really get us in the mood for a wild year.

This could probably be its own thread, but I've for a while thought that a turn on Dad might be their best shot at getting Randy back in the good graces of the fans. Likely he'd still be the cocky heel, but at least he'd be a cocky heel standing on his own two feet instead of always relying on Dad. And they have dropped a few hints here and there that Randy will eventually turn on Cowboy Bob. Of course creative doesn't always carry out what they start, but I'm kind of hoping that's the direction they go.
