According to an inDemand advertisement, the SmackDown! PPV No Way Out (February 19th, 2005) will feature Batista vs. Kane for the World Heavyweight Title in the main event.

Since it's a ways away, and I don't necessarily see these advertisements as 110% reliable, it might not happen. I just think it's interesting though.

More RAW vs Smackdown stuff or is Kane being traded to Smackdown?

Well I could see this leading to Show being jealous of Kane's main event status (and title shot(s)), costing him the match here, thus setting up a match between the two at WM.

You can tell that all of this is booked on the fly after Eddie's death

I glad they are extending this Raw vs Smackdown feud.

Batista's first ever PPV win was against Kane in 02.

In fact it was at Armageddon 2002.

Aren't the rosters supposed to be FROZEN?! :?:

Oh wait.... WWE doesn't want us to remember that... n/m :shifty:

Of course, that would mess up the Big Show/HHH feud.

So that makes perfect sense that the WWE would do it, since they love to mess themselves up.

If Kane goes to Smackdown, he better win the title. Otherwise, I'm going to throw cats out an apartment window and hope it lands on a cops head so he falls down a river and finds himself swimming through water hoping to find a place to eat so he can return home and go back to his buisness.

This would be a real kick in the teeth for the SD! roster. Basically, they're not good enough for even a title challenge let alone the belt.

There's only one place this type of storyline should go - brand merger.

HHH/Show will fight at NYR, and then maybe one more time at RR. I don't think Show will fight HHH at Mania. Show/Kane probably will happen at Mania, even though I'm starting to think there will be some kind of big RAW vs. SD match, to end all the feuding between the two sides.

when's the last time a Hoss Fight was the main event at a PPV?

I am a huge Kane mark, so I hope that is true. Maybe (just maybe) the WWE is planning (hah, yeah I know...WWE...planning) in having Kane winning the title at New Year's Revolution (he does have a movie coming out, the WWE does not want it to flop) and go on to face Batista at No Way Out in a title unification match, where the winner goes on to face the Royal Rumble Winner at WrestleMania 22.

It would actually:

A. Get people to care about No Way Out.

B. Let this RAW vs. SmackDown! feud lead somewhere.

C. Give Kane main event exposure.

D. Add to what would likely be lackluster main event. C'mon, is anyone REALLY excited about Batista vs. Randy Orton? They've given the match away on live TV. Batista's first match in the WWE was against Randy Orton in fact. If I remember correctly Orton lasted about 30 seconds. If they have both the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship unified by this point, it would basically make it a much more larger match than just a WHC match.

I don't expect Kane to go into WrestleMania as a unified Champion (would be almost "Chris Jericho as Undisputed Champion" good to see, though), so I would expect Big Show to cost Kane the match against Batista, letting Batista win his first WWE Championship.

You can go the full Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho route with the World Heavyweight and WWE Titles, making matches with them both defended seperately, etc. It could really make the title scene, well...interesting again.

I haven't been able to take Kane seriously as a main eventer for a long time.

So does this mean Kane wins the Rumble?

So does this mean Kane wins the Rumble?

Probably not, seeing as the Rumble title shot is cashed in at WrestleMania. Why not make the change, though? Have Kane run ahead and take his title shot at No Way Out, and have an interpromotional tournament for the right to challenge whichever Champion they want at WrestleMania?
