I've heard a lot people mention Fire Emblem. What makes is so good?

Not to sounds like an ass, but Mario Kart DS was pretty much a given. Mario Kart anything is great. Mario Kart mashed potato maker is great.

Yeah my DS list was kind of short so I had to throw in a couple of the "no shit" games for filler. >>

Fire Emblem is a turn-based game. If you're into that kind of thing it's really fun. As far as turn-based goes, I still prefer FF Tactics over it, but it is a nice breath of fresh air. There's RPG elements to it too, ie your units level up and gain better proficiency with certain weapon types, etc. I dunno it's just a really good turn-based strategy game, if you're not a fan of the genre you probably wouldn't like it

There are a shitload of TBS games better than Fire Emblem.

The Ogre Battle Series (I think the GBA one is Tactics Ogre Advance), Advance Wars series (They have several GBA, and AW:Dual Strike is on the DS--One off the most addictive DS games period).

Ideally you should own all 3 - Advance Wars, Tactics Ogre and Fire Emblem. They may be TBS games but they are all fairly different in the way they play.

Animal Crossing: Wild World
Yoshi Touch 'n Go
Super Mario 64 DS
Sonic Rush

I almost picked up Yoshi, but decided to hear what people had to say. I've read good and bad things.

Super Mario DS. I know it's the same as the N64 version, but is there anything different about it? I see a whole bunch of characters on the cover, but are they even in the game?

Is Sonic like the Genesis versions? It looks that way from pics. Is it as enjoyable as SOnic 2?

Yoshi TAG was mroe like a tech demo. It's short with very little to recommend it.

SMDS includes like 20 new stars, mini games, and you can play as Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario. It's not exactly a huge amount of new material, but it's decent if you can get it on the cheap.

I don't like the FE series. Too little to recommend it. I've played a couple of the games, never much of a turnon. It's personal preference, but I think either of the other two series do it much better.

I'm not a fan of TBS games. I figure I'd like to continue having sex. I picked up Yoshi's Island and I'm loving it. I can't believe I never played it for SNES.

Keep the recommendations coming. I'd gladly accept why the games are good, but whatever. Thanks a lot.

Mario Tennis for DS is hot shit. Now I just need to get the link cable so I can transfer my shits to the GC Power Tennis.

That Kirby game for DS is surprisingly great. Also, Super Mario 64 DS is the greatness that was Mario 64, but with shitloads of extra things to do with lots of minigames. A must have.

I neglected to mention that both of my brother have a GBA as well as a DS, and since they have little need of their GBAs, I was lent one so I could move my character. Unfortunately, Mario Power Tennis doesn't support that feature.

If anything, that's one thing they definitely shouldn't have left out of the new Mario Tennis games. Also, besides LoZ Windwaker, LoZ Four Swords and FF Crystal Chronicles, what other games make use of the GBA/GC link cable?

Not a lot. Nintendo doesn't support peripherals.

All the Metroid games
All the Castlevania games
All the Megaman games

And for the love of god, Fire Pro wrestling 2. One of the greatest wrestling games ever.

I'll pick up Fire Pro Wrestling 2 whenever I come across it. Is it really THAT good? I'm asuimg yes. I played the first one on my friend's GBA years ago when it came out and loved it. I'll totally look into Metroids.
