Nobody can have the perfect brackett anywhere. It is impossible

The odds of filling out a perfect bracket -- correctly predicting the outcome of all 63 games -- is approximately 9.22 quintillion to one.

Jesus Shuttlesworth

well.... there goes my fucking bracket.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
03-24-2006, 12:50 AM
I'm still doing pretty well except I had GW in the elite 8 instead of LSU. I had Duke out in the second I think they had a real lucky season this year so I didnt think they were as strong as their record would indicate.

Holy shit what a chokejob by Gonzaga

loopydate
03-24-2006, 01:36 AM
That UCLA/Gonzaga game had a phenomenal ending. Gonzaga choked big-time, though.

I'm happy, 'cause I have UCLA in my Final Four. I had Duke, too, but I'm always happy when Duke loses. :D

My Atlanta bracket is fucked, 'cause I had Duke vs. West Virginia. The other three brackets, my Final Four team is still around, but my predicted Elite Eight team is gone ('Nova over Ohio State, Connecticut over Michigan State, UCLA over Kansas). Stupid Big Ten off year...

The Miz
03-24-2006, 01:47 AM
Duke was the most obvious #1 that wasn't going to make the Final Four, its hard to when their star player doesn't know how to play in important games

Jesus Shuttlesworth
03-24-2006, 01:50 AM
Gonzaga damn..I had them in the final 4 :( Oh well, that was a crazy ending. Kinda wish Batista hit that shot at the end - woulda been an even better ending. I am sure we would still get that Laettner shot cramed down our throats though instead of this new one (if it happened haha)

Jesus Shuttlesworth
03-24-2006, 02:06 AM
lol Darell Mitchell (LSU's starting pointguard) beat Duke rocking FAKE Jordans that's awesome (I guess he does it all the time, just found this out on some "sneakeraddict" messageboard)

Supreme Olajuwon
03-24-2006, 03:05 AM
Look at that loser! He has fake Jordans on!

He's rockin fake Jordans in the Elite 8 so I don't think he's too worried about it

Jesus Shuttlesworth
03-24-2006, 03:10 AM
I don't really see the big deal about him wearing them either, only "sneakerheads" like those dudes are gonna notice anyways. I figured "fake" sneakers wouldn't hold up as good as the real thing when playing in a game or whatever though..guess not.

I don't get why he just doesn't get legit Jordans for free though, that's what I'd do haha

Huggins is going to Kansas State. I can't think of a single reason why that's a good idea except maybe so he can challenge Eddy Sutton as the best drunk coach.

The Miz
03-24-2006, 02:35 PM
lol the ESPN SportsNation Poll asks "What player who played yesterday will make the best NBA player (Adam Morrison, Glen Davis, J.J. Redick, or LaMarcus Aldridge). Each player dominated their state; Morrison 62% in Washington, Davis 61% in Louisiana, Aldridge 59% in Texas but Poetry Boy only got 13% in North Carolina. I seriously think everyone hates him except Duke fans/players, ESPN analysts, and The Outlaw.

OJ Mayo (top HS prospect for years) and Bill Walker (another top prospect) already said they were going wherever Huggins was going. So crappy team, big conference and he knows he is getting those guys, probably thinks he'll be able to "prove" that is a great coach if he wins with KState

lol

I am the biggest Duke hater ever I think now, I didn't think it could much worse then Jason Williams and Shane Battier at the sametime but now we are gonna have to live with Greg Paulus (hey did you know he was a top rated QB too? I haven't heard it..) and Josh McRoberts for the next 3 years. Redick wasn't even that bad honestly, he just gets a lot of shit because of what other people say about him. Paulus is the next Steve Wojohowski though, aka the most annoying basketball player ever.

Yeah Mayo and Walker's high school is down the street from where I went and so they play each other. Walker throws down some nasty dunks from time to time and Mayo is unbelievable. There's a third guy on that team that is really good too and he might go with them.

UCLA/Memphis has been the worst played game of the tournament. UCLA is 13/29 on free throws.

There have been I think 15 TOs in the 2nd half, and like 6 field goals.

Jesus Shuttlesworth

Well Memphis played sloppy but UCLA's defense was pretty good. Playing like complete ass or not, they beat the #3 seed then the #1 seed, it's not like they beat George Mason or something.

Crimson
03-26-2006, 02:25 AM
Yea both UCLA and Memphis didn't play up to their status...and they will have trouble against FatBaby and Thomas? I think his name is that crazy shotblocker. Deny them the ball like crazy, and they better practice their fuckin freethrows, it almost cost them .

Tomorow I expect Uconn to runaway against Mason, and Villanova to get by Florida.

The Miz
03-26-2006, 03:55 AM
When UCLA's guards don't play well they can't get anything done on offense. Farmar played terrible today and thats why they looked so out of sync. If Farmar and Afflalo play well they could win the whole thing

RP
03-26-2006, 09:53 AM

My final four was Memphis over Duke and Ohio State over Tennessee/UConn (differnet brackets).

I would love to see Mason get to the finals, I don't know if they will win it though. UConn was bound to lose, and although I never really cheered for Washingotn this year, they should have won and were so close, it sucked. Mason was just sooooo efficient in overtime.

I see Mason and LSU in the finals.

Mike Anderson on the other hand, now there's a winner. The Big 12 is going to be so bad next year. Kansas will run away with it, then Texas and Kansas State will be tournament bound, but the rest is completely up for grabs.

Oklahoma loses Taj Gray and Bookout, as well as their coach.
Oklahoma State looked like it severely lacked talent when I saw them at the Big 12 Tournament, and still a relatively new coach
Texas Tech could go either way, I'd expect it to be around 500, but I don't know what their recruiting class is like
Nebraska is Nebraska
Colorado had a chance at making the Tournament this year, but saying goodbye to Richard Roby says goodbye to any credibility
Iowa State got the new head coach but lost Stinson and Blalock (ie their whole team)
A&M should still be solid, but I don't expect them to be great or anything
Baylor still has a few years before it can look for credibility
Mizzou was awful last year, but has players and a new coach and real good recruits

I expect it to finish something like this

Kansas
Texas
Kansas State
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Missouri
Oklahoma State
Iowa State
Nebraska
Colorado
Baylor

Ditto. I had UConn beating Duke, with 'Nova and UCLA losing in the Final Four. One out of four ain't bad, I guess.

How odd would Florida vs. LSU for the National Championship be, since this was supposedly an "off year" for the SEC?

I'm thinking UCLA over Florida, but it would be great to see GMU pull it off.

Having 2 SEC teams in the final 4 doesn't mean that the SEC didn't have an off year though. If a team gets hot at the right time it can make up for a lackluster season. There is no ACC teams in the final 4 but a team from the Colonial Athletic Association made it, does that mean the CAA is better?

Not in the slightest. If I recall correctly, I never made the claim that the SEC is the strongest conference in the country because of their two Final Four teams. I made no qualitative statement that the remaining conferences are superior to those who are not.

I was merely pointing out that I thought it was interesting that the SEC was considered "weak" this year, but they make up half of the teams playing this weekend.

mrslackalack
03-30-2006, 10:44 AM
Yes it was very true that the SEC was considered weak this year. 90 of 100 SEC panelists had picked UK to win it all in the SEC and the other 10 picked Bama. Possible SEC teams making the tourney preseason included Vandy, So Car, and LSU. Some felt Florida was an NIT team at best and Tennesee was projected to have a losing season. But both UK and Bama struggled and Florida and Tennesee shined this year while Vandy and So. Car didnt live to their expectations. It looked like LSU wouldnt be great after a slow start but their big win at WV and great performances in their losses at UCONN and Ohio St made them look like they could play with any team in the country.
