Since Montreal in 1997 there have been 39 title changes. From 1963 until 1997 there were 36 changes.

Man, there has been 3 more title changes in a little less than 8 and a half years than there was in the 34 previous years.

My question is this: Does the WWE/F Title still mean as much now as it used to or is it just way too watered down to even really matter?

One of the reasons why the title changes more often now is way back then there weren't as many shows on TV. But hey, let’s look at these numbers.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o =""></o>
Before the night of the screw job (from Buddy Rogers to Bret Hart) there were only 21 people to hold that title.
After the screw job (starting off with HBK to now) 16 people held the title.

It’s not like the WWE gave the title to just anyone. Keep the title moving to keep the ratings up. Let the same basic people have it so it doesn’t get passed around too much until someone proves they’re the top guy.

So no, it hasn’t gone down in value, at least in my eyes. It's not watered down.

Too watered down to matter anymore. With rare exceptions, no one can make the titles mean shit anymore.

Okay, let's put the WWE title on Dink, and tell me titles don't mean anything.
If they're as watered down as you think then Cena will still be just as over after a clean job to Dink.

That has nothing to do with the title, Cena could be a midcard guy, no belt, (just as over as he is now) and job to Dink and people would revolt regardless. Fact is however (sans Angle, Lesnar, and maybe Benoit after a good build), the fans will respond to almost everyone the same way as champion. WWE fucked up, they hot shotted the title, they blew there loads on guys like Orton and Lesnar (Lesnar was successful, but imagine how much better his reign would have been and how much longer he would have stayed had he waited for a title run), they fucked up all their up and comers by jobbing them out, and now they have no one credible enough to make the title seems prestigious.

Nevermind the fact that with their current "stars/main eventers" all the logical programs have been done to death, where as had they gave guys like Christian, like Booker T, like Van Dam, like Jericho, like Benoit extensive title runs when they were actually over they'd have a hot main event scene instead of this repetitive shit they have on their shows now.

There hasn't been a US Title change since 1987 in Greensboro.

That's because WWF only had a few venues back then, hence the titles only changed hands in places like Greensboro and Charlotte (both in NC).

Most of the title changes were in NC pre '87.

With two titles in WWE, the WWE Title lost any form of credibility.
