MVP: Kovalchuk, most exciting pleyer in the game right now.
Calder: Svaatos - OK I choose him only because no one seems to notice him. Tied for the lead in goals by a rookie, folks.
Norris: Corvo (Kings) - Just because like Svaatos, he gets no recognition. Plus he's on my fantasy team.
Vezina: Kiprusoff - 7 shut outs, playing in the strongest division in the NHL.
Most Surprising Team: Buffalo and suddenly the Thrashers.
Most Disappointing Team: Boston, but I like it that way.

Just a question dude...why Gagne tied with jagr? If anything on Philly I would have chosen Forsberg..we saw what happens with gagne once forsberg goes down..he isnt the same. I dont think Gagne is really a go to guy, he's more like a supporting guy.

No
Canucks
Flames
Oilers
Colorado
Wild
That is tougher.
Ottawa is the best team going, granted, but that does not make their division the toughest.

Well, I hesitated between Forsberg and Gagné, but I felt like Gagné was playing better in defensive, not only in offensive, thus making him a better complete player and more useful to the Flyers. I also believe it would be wrong to say that Gagné goes down when Forsberg is not there. He was playing injured when Forsberg was not there, and he took his break when Forsberg was about to come back. I also believe that Gagné is a go to guy, as in my opinion, he has proven that he can play both ways convincingly. Many coaches in the league are calling him the best two way player since Forsberg, in fact.
Not that I would disagree with anybody naming Forsberg an MVP.

same for everything except I'd pick Pittsburgh as most disappointing, considering all the off-season moves they made. Also, Rangers gotta be up there for most surpising as well, but I agreeon everything else

Pittsburgh? Why'd you think they would be any better than they are? Well ok, they should be somewhat better than they are, but they weren't about to make the playoffs this year.

Of course they weren't, but when your team's leader in points last season was Dick Tarnstrom with 52, and you add a shitload of talent such as: John Leclair, Mark Recchi, Sergei Gonchar, Ziggy Palffy, Sidney Crosby, you kind of expect SOMETHING of an improvement in your scoring.

Yeah Pittsburgh was one of the most hyped teams in the offseason, whether they deserved it or not. It was kind of obvious that their lack of defenders would come back and bite them, but there was still some hype.
