I really wanted to see him go against Orton and defend and keep his title on the 1 anniversary of his reign. He has made a great champion, he has improved a lot and I really wanted to see Orton/Batista headline Wrestlemania 22.

Batista was actually one of the few guys worth watching at the moment. Can't wait for his return though.

I'm glad Angle is the champ, but I do feel for big Dave. I believe he was supposed to drop the title back in November but went against it due to working through the injury. But by taking that risk, he made things worse. But he was doing well for himself on SmackDown. People still love him, even though he hasnt even defended the title since November.

I'm pretty sure it's the tricep injury that occurred with Mark Henry that made him forfeit the title. :(

Sort of feel bad for him but when he comes back he will get a huge pop and he will win the title back from Angle.

Yes, which aggravated the tricep injury that he was working through. God Henry sucks.

Having this type of injury while you are on top is never a good thing, because who knows if he'll ever get the title back (he likely will, but once the title is away from you there's no guarantee it will come back).

Howveer, he had a good run with the title, was protected and didn' get to the point where fans were turning on him, so its likely people will want to see him come back and regain the title. Which is good for the Summer when he gets back.

On top of that he was scheduled for a match with Mark Henry, that was never going to be good, and good only do harm to Batista's image, so he got out of that. And, he even got out of jobbing to Orton, so he'll still seem really strong in the fans' minds.

Depending how they handle Orotn when/if he becomes champion, the Orton-Batista issue could be even bigger than it would have been.

I said a year ago when Batista became champ that he might end up being the WWE's Diamond Dallas Page in that he'd be a person who got into wrestling at a late age but was able to become a fan favorite and stay on top well into his 40s and still entertain.

Injury barring, I still think Batista can do that. I really wanted him to go a full year. He's been pretty entertaining, and he's never really gotten stale or anything like that. And he seems to still be a really nice and humble guy. So I hope he'll get more pushes.

But yeah, he definitely goes out looking very strong right now. Hopefully, he can recover and return by Wrestlemania. I hope they keep him on TV too. Could be cool.

And will someone just put Mark Henry and Hardcore in a Hardcore Holly match already so they can injure each other to paralysis, instead of doing that to other people? Geez.

First of all they are not blaming Mark Henry so don't act like he is to blame. Batista was working through another injury prior, it is his fault he did not take the time off to heal. But with that said... Batista v.s Kurt Angle would be amazing I bet. That would be a huge match that could draw like crazy.

As a person who has really enjoyed Big Dave's reign as champion, I'm pretty upset for him. He was having such a good reign with the title, now he's injured. Although, I'm really looking forward to his return. If they keep him off TV, and give no hints about his return, then just one night at a PPV or on SmackDown, his music starts blaring when whoever the champion is at that time is cutting a promo(hopefully it's still Angle), that could be great.

Of course, knowing the WWE. They'll start running vignettes a few weeks before he's set to return with, "The Animal Returns In Three Weeks". :|

Henry fucked up a move which caused the injury to Tista's bicep muscle. Tista's other injury was to his lat, so really Henry caused another injury to Dave.

But yeah, Dave is the sole reason for me watching Smackdown. It really sucks to see a great guy suffer such a tough injury, especially right before Wrestlemania where he would've gotten a huge payday. Instead of main eventing Wrestlemania as World Champ, he has to watch from home.

Although I think they should've done the Rumble thing with the title (Still have Angle win though) and then this week on Smackdown do an angle where Orton "injures" Batista (Last year after Orton got hurt, he swore revenge against Batista) and then next week Batista forfeits the title. Then when Angle would win the title at the Rumble, he gets challenged by Orton saying that Angle is the one guy he would love to kill the legend of. And Angle will reply that unlike the other legends he has "killed." He, Angle, is still in his prime.

Then at Wrestlemania Orton defeats Angle to win the World Title and keeps it until Batista comes back leading to a good feud between the two.

Gutted Big Dave isn't the champ anymore. Thought he had a good reign and was over with the crowd. Looking forward to his return.
