View Full Version : Bad News For UK Fans

Its being reported that British broadcast partners were not too happy that people could watch Heat and Velocity on the internet before the shows appeared on television on the Sky station. WWE's website has recently put a stop to that by blocking people with UK web accounts from watching the shows.

UK Viewers are also being blocked from watching WWE Unlimited during LIVE RAW Broadcasts as well as Heat and Velocity. They probably blocked it for the same reason that Heat and Velocity were blocked. Thanks to reader Adam Norto sending that in

I'm sure that's some sort of human rights and freedom of speech violation right there.

I can no longer watch ANY WWE whatsoever, so the free Velocity on WWE.com was great for me, it being "geographically blocked" now has really irritated me.

This is surely some kind of discrimination is it not?

I understand to a certain degree what Sky are on about here but ... no, actually I din't. It's a stinkin' pile of monkey crap. Your location or citizenship or whatever else shouldn't dictate whether or not you have the right to watch WWE programming. The fact that Channel 4 dropped the 4 PPVs a year that they used to show was upsetting enough, especially as my family don't have Sky Sports or Sky Box Office PPV, so this - my only other method of watching WWE for free - was a godsend. And now we don't even have that.

Lousy tight-arsed money grabbin' bastards :foc:

Sucks for you? Linux users can't even use WWE 24/7 online because of the DRM. :foc:

I don't have Sky Sports anymore, so this was the only way I could watch Heat/Velocity. What a bunch of fucking bullshit. If they do the same with Raw/Smackdown clips, i'll be REALLY pissed.

Why stop Unlimited though? We have Raw live over here, whenever I feel like staying up to watch it live I always watch it along with Unlimited.

this is compared to the detriot city black out of 85 for wrestlemania 3.....you ever wonder how they got all those pepole at the silver dome? Simple, they didnt allow pepole in surronding areas to order the PPV so they were FORCED to go to the event.....but this is prettty dick none the less.

Fuck sake sky its only heat/velocity.I can understand the reasoning as far as they are concerned though, but why cut unlimited off?Yes they sometimes show bits of unlimited on the show anyway, but not all the time.If I pay for the internet, I expect to get what I pay for, and I don't pay for the internet for stuff to be banned.

(I have sky, im just sticking up for those who don't)

I bet they probably do have jobs but considering how much sky costs, they would probably have to go into debt to get sky, and WWE's just not worth that much right now you bastard.(i couldn't think of anything to put before bastard)

I have a free-view digi box and that's all I need. I don't see the point of having sky when I'm out most nights anyway and because I used to watch the best wrestling (i.e. Velocity) on the internet. Now it's gone from wwe.com, one hour per week and the odd Smackdown and Raw isn't going to change that.
