Season 2 started last night. Anyone else watch it?

Has anyone else been following the series?
I would rate it as the best sci fi series ever.

Let's here some opinions.

Sorry, Hero, but Sliders is the best sci-fi series ever.

Babylon 5 is the best sci-fi series of all time

All those mentioned series, save Sliders (mainly because it went to shit later on in it's run), were good. They however are poor in terms of comparison to BattleStar Gallactica

I actually haven't seen the new battlestar, the original was cool, but I was a kid at the time and I'm sure it would be as cheesy as hell now.

BTW I agree with Hero about Sliders, once Jerry O'Connell got his brother a job on the show it was time to end the pain.

Anyone ever heard of a little show called STAR TREK?

The old BattleStar, while cool to me when I was a kid is cheese. Well not always, but many of the episodes are so cheesy. This new stuff, very well done, dare I say deep in it's concept and multiple storylines.

However, nothing touches the older episodes. NOTHING.

Not sure if it's the best sci-fi show ever (I'd have to go with TNG for that), but the new Galactica is greatness. Edward James Olmos is the man.

TNG, while great, is too pussified.

Farscape sucked. But it was better than BattleStar Gallactica.

I'm liking BattleStar Gallactica. I don't get a chance to follow it completely like I'd like to, but it seems very dark at times. Good meshing of stories, etc.

TNG, while great, is too pussified.

Star Trek in general is flavorless. Roddenberry knew his shit, but the characters are either too B-Movie, too Tolkien (ST:TNG is a good example), or just plain uninteresting.

Basically, Trek is big only because it's the first, it's the franchise, and fanboys will watch it no matter how shitty it gets. See, also, the folks who wanted to save Enterprise.

Farscape gets points for being the most imaginative of the bunch. Bab 5 gets points for the crafting of a brilliant story. And Stargate...Well, it's fucking Stargate.

I initially avoided BSG because Iwas turned off by the miniseries. The real problem is that while it was a good story, it suffered from horrible editing and an inability to tell astory that felt like it filled 3-ish hours. Felt like it could have been told in about half the time.

Having seen more of the series now, I can easily say that it's a solid series. I don't think it beats out Stargate or B5 or Farscape, but it's a well crafted story with solid execution. I also never watched the original series, so I'm judging it off the cuff. I saw the movie once, but it was when I was still young and I have no memory of it.

Huh, what, no, I'm not doing a vanity search. Certainly not.

Uh... But "Firefly" was the goods.

Firefly was fantastic. Even better at £15.99 for the complete series on DVD!

I've got to get it. I've only seen like 4 episodes, but even at that, for the price they want it's great.

Every single episode is great. It's well worth it.

I'd imagine. I don't even know why I never watched it. I have this tendency to not pick up on new shows. Most of 'em are crap, but this is one I wish I had caught from the beginning.
