So I saw it today at a special screening. I left the theatre a very very happy girl. It's just as good if not better than the original. It's totally faithful to the original while pulling off the difficult task of being a stand alone film, a problem many sequels have. The introduction of Ghost, a new character was theh ighlight for me as she was somebody I could very creepily relate to, I saw a lot of myself in her. All in all GS:Unleashed was a fantastic horror/werewolf movie that I'll definitely be buying on DVD.

Looks liek from what I'm hearing that those of you who don't live in Canada will have to wait for the DVD release which is sometine in April for the USA because this baby is Theatrical only in Canada. Shame really.

Ginger Snaps was a fatnastic Canadian horror film, guess it didn't make as much of a splash in the US as it did here

As a Canadian I can honestly say i've never heard of it. Then again I steal satelite signals... so all I see is American media.

I saw that movie.... It was silly... Silly I say... Such a funny name for a werewolf movie too... Furthermore, I love the whole " Made by the Government of Canada" or whatever strange shit it says at the end of the credits... Silly.

I thought the first Ginger Snaps was only OK, but I'm kind of curious about the sequel, since they didn't seem to leave a whole lot of room at the end of part 1 for a sequel.

They're making 2 more I believe.
I read a little about them over at Upcominghorrormovies.com. I'm not too interested. Sounds a little too much like the "Howling" series. I haven't seen one Howling movie I've liked.
The werewolf genre needs something new. I don't really have any idea's. I thought the Underworld concept was pretty cool.

There's Unleashed and then a Prequel set in 19th century Canada.

I saw Ginger Snaps about 2 years ago I think it was. Maybe a year and a half. Either way, I thought it was a pretty decent movie. No it didn't make a big splash over here but then again not many horror movies do. Movies that involve werewolves, vampires etc aren't looked at as good movies unless they are more action oriented, like Underworld.
However, when GS2 comes out on dvd I'll be sure to give it a look. thnx for the heads up Lara.

Thought the first one was cool, Ginger was hot. :)
I saw the trailer for the second one, looked decent, so I'll probably check it out on DVD.
