it's really pissing me off cause I keep trying to open it and a box comes up. I tried to redownload aim but it would only save to floppy disk and not drive C, so I didn't bother deleting. This is what the message is like. What can fix the problem? thanks if you can help.

Try downloading this and extracting it into C:\Program Files\AIM95

thanks, but it wasn't effective... It seemed like it could work, I tried it a few times but aim is a bitch. Is there anything else that would work?
You could try downloading the new AIM. Here (http://channels.netscape.com/wrap/linker.jsp?floc=at_oswin_beta_1_l&ref=http://download.newaol.com/clients/triton_2.0.2.2/AOLDNLD.exe)
Is it giving a new error or is it the same one?

it's the same error, and when I try reinstalling the new aim, it will only save to disk - if I delete aim, I will never be able to reinstall it for some strange reason. Aim was working fine, no problems, and now it's not at all.
I still have msn, but aim had other people.

Get GAIM. It works well and is like 100x less annoying.

Fuck AIM. Do Trillian. I use it for my Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, and MSN Messenger accounts, as well as IRC (when I use it), and it's awesome.
I've tried GAIM, and I still prefer Trillian.

I like GAIM because the interface is cleaner. Plus it is standard on all of the linux systems that I use for school and work so I can move profiles around easily.

I got it working now, the setting was on like windows xp in properties, which I have but it didn't work with that setting for some reason... I considered switching it's compatability to windows 95 last week but didn't because I thought it should be working for XP cause that's what worked before and what I've been using.
anyway, today I tried it with windows 95 compatablity and it's working.
thanks for the suggestions though.
