I was listening to Sun Kil Moon's cover of Modest Mouse's "Ocean Breathes Salty". I think I actually like it better than the original for it's acoustic nature.
So throw out some other radically different covers, whether they're better or worse than the original.

Rasputina's cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here."
Can't say I've heard the original, but Rasputina's version is hot. Cellos = Hotness
Maplebee's covers of Doris Day's "Perhaps Perhaps."
Have to say once again I've never heard the original, but Maplebee's version is bonkers.

Oh, and Rasputina made a song out of the "This Little Piggy" nursery rhyme, which to is bonkers.
Quirky women = Hotness

Radical Recital, as that's the only one easily found apparently. I'm working on getting 'How we quit the Forest." But I'm cheap and poor, so it's a bit of a pain.
Also bought a CD by Dresden Dolls. Good shit right there.

I forgot A Perfect Circle's covers album. There's a bunch of songs on there but the covers of Imagine by John Lennon and What's Goin On by Marvin Gaye are pretty sweet (though some people will consider them blasphemy, no doubt)

Nickel Creek's version of Toxic (Britney Spears) actually kicks some serious ass (can hear it on their myspace website if you haven't had the pleasure to hear it live), especially when you have Chris Thile taking the piss throughout the song.
