There are several I'm interested in;
Smallville
It's in its 5th or 6th season and it's interesting to see the similarities and the differences between Smallville and the Superman movies. It sucks though, that Jonathan Kent died in last week's episode...:nono: . Although that does follow the Superman plot. I haven't seen too many threads on this, so, I'm just wonderin' if anyone else watches.....
Nip/Tuck
This show is by far the best on FX. It gets deeper every episode and twists happen often. The "carver" angle from this past season was good, although I didn't see Quintin and Kit being brother & sister coming......
Supernatural
It's funny, there used to be NO good shows on WB. Nowadays, they have Smallville, Supernatural, etc that are fastly becoming favs of mine. Supernatural follows two brothers: Sam & Dean who are chasing their father[who also investigates supernatural cases] in order to get closer to the truth about their mother. Their mother died in their home when they were younger and their father is off chasing the demon responsible. This show is better than most WBish shows like 7th Heaven:n: or One Tree Hill :n: and actually gets better as it goes along.
[i]The Shield
It's funny, I never really cared about another show about a dirty cop. That is, until they advertised season 5. Forrest Whitaker stands out and makes The Shield a must-watch show. Cop-drama that leaves you wondering what will happen next.
Rescue Me
Dennis Leary is a good actor. He definetely shines in this series. It's another FX show that leaves you wanting more.
Shows I hate; "Over There"[could they make MORE off of war-time happenings? ], 7th Heaven[too family oriented], One Tree Hill[gay], "It's always sunny in Philadelphia[a flop of a show on FX], and any "reality" themed tv shows["American Idol, "Dancing with the Stars", "Survivor", "The Apprentice, etc].
Which TV shows do you currently watch?

I also forgot, Comedy Central advertised that the 3rd season of Chappelle's show is coming, OHHHKAY.....
Lost- best show on TV.
Prison Break
Veronica Mars (probably just going to pick up the seasons on DVD and watch them in one shot. I'm too lazy to bother with Tivo and it's on the same time as Lost)
Nip/Tuck
Rescue Me
Family Guy
American Dad
Southpark
Drawn Together
I also forgot, Comedy Central advertised that the 3rd season of Chappelle's show is coming, OHHHKAY.....
It's just whatever sketches they had done before he quit, wrapped into 4 episodes, but hey, that's still better than nothing and funnier than most of the shit on TV today.

I think that TV is better now than it's been in maybe 10 years. It was a very, very dark age for TV when Friends was the best we had to offer. UPN and the WB were trying too hard to cater to a certain audience, that they ignored quality for quantity. And while it's still prevalent today... five years ago was a time of disgusting reality shows. We don't see as much of "Temptation Island" now as we used to... instead, shows like "beauty and the geek," which is rather smart, and something of a surreality show. Which is to say, I loved the Surreal life, too. But "beauty and the geek" gives us a reality that just wouldn't have existed before. Instead of stupid shit like "Real World" where it's just people... living together? :?:, it's a convention that's finally being toyed with. And I am hoping that one day soon, Survivor will become extinct.
I could say more but i am too tired. I'll say that I do actually enjoy Smallville, but I recognize objectively that it's one of the lesser shows on TV -- it's only a bit of a masturbatory guilty pleasure, with hot babes and comic book heroes. We all long for a little bit of that in our lives (lois and clark, mmmmmm teri hatcher 15 years ago).

That I get. But I watch, enjoy, and worship the ground Smallville walks on for more than that. It's, for me, not about Kristin Kreuk or Erica Durance or Allison Mack, it's about watching Clark grow into the man he'll become. I love this show for the pure comic stuff.
For the record, though, Teri's still pretty bangable.

I missed last week's. Are there plans to bring him back, or what? :(

For myself, killing Johnathan in "Reckoning" is a waste. It was built up as a big surprise so much, that it fell flat. People who have been watching the show for all this time have been expecting him to die since "Exile", when he was given the temporary super-powers. His heart's been in shitty shape since that time. It just came off as a waste, if you ask me. Killing Lana would have been the perfect way to catapault this show ahead and change Clark from the whiney, complaining, pussy cry-baby he's been written as this year into a man. Instead, they took the easy way out and killed Johnathan. A bitch move, if you ask me.
But "Vengeance" fucking rocked. This Maya/Angel character is so obviously supposed to be Batman. They even play a sutble variation of the Danny Elfman theme when she shows up. It was a great episode. But as for plans to bring him back, I don't think so. At the end of "Vengeance"(which is sadder than his actual death, btw), Clark and Martha are watching a home movie of a younger Clark and Johnathan driving around on a tractor. At the end, Johnathan looks toward the camera and waves, saying "Bye". Fairly clear indicator he's gone for good.
But I hear a flashback/dream sequence of some kind isn't ruled out.

You kill lana now, you jump the shark, you get one more season tops. You know that.
But the Jonathan thing pissed me off... 1) yeah who cares if it was him? I'd have let Lana die. and 2) I'm just upset that he's alive in the comics. So gone for good just pisses me off.
but then I guess, Lois wasn't childhood buddies with Clark either. Whatver. Horrible show.

Not exactly. Killing Lana would certainly cause you to lose some of her fans, but that's not going to kill the show. You think killing Lana is jumping the shark? I say keeping her on for this long is jumping the shark. Dragging this Clark/Lana relationship on for this long is jumping the shark. More people despise Kristin for holding the show back than they do love her.

Not all of these shows are on at the same time. HBO and FX stagger their seasons. The Sopranos hasn't been on in almost 2 years. Rome won't be on until 2007 prolly etc.
Plus, DVR is a godsend.

The producers of Will & Grace could learn a thing or two from Scrubs. W&G used to be really funny (and, as a result, I used to actually watch it), but now every episode is full of guest stars.
Scrubs uses a lot of guest stars, but they integrate them into their existing stories really well (see: Mandy Moore tonight, Heather Graham last season, Brendan Fraser from the first season), whereas W&G puts guest stars on and says "HEY LOOK! JENNIFER LOPEZ IS ON OUR SHOW!"
