A WRESTLING ICON SAYS "GOODBYE".
News items to report from Saturday's "iMPACT!"
STING LEAVES ON HIS OWN TERMS
It was certainly an emotional ending to "iMPACT!" on Saturday night on SpikeTV, as the wrestling icon known as Sting surprised - and saddened fans - by announcing he was walking away from the sport of wrestling on his own terms. The star talked candidly about his memories competing all over the world, stating that his match with Christian Cage against Jeff Jarrett and The Alpha Male was indeed the "Final Resolution" in his amazing career. After telling the fans he "loved them all", Sting placed his black bat in the middle of the ring and walked back up the entrance ramp for the last time in his career, where he was met by various members of the TNA roster including AJ Styles and Christian Cage. It appears as if one of the biggest names in wrestling history has finally closed the book on his career - and he did it on his own terms.
WTF? So much for "changing the face of wrestling in 2006." More like "we'll do something or other for a few weeks that could make an impact."

WTF!?! This has got to be a work. No way in fucking hell they would pay him all that money for a year contract and then let him walk away.

LOL They are trying to do exactly the same thing WCW did.

If it is a work, how can they package it? They have Christian v. JJ on the next PPV and I just don't see Sting fueding with Monty or another second-tier main eventer. Or even a Sting/Christian program if CC can win the belt. I doubt Sting would do anything but main event... his career has earned him that right.
Maybe the the work was in the contract? Sting was going to sign for the full year but they couldn't get the numbers right. So he did the one match and that was it. He gets paid for a PPV and an Impact appearence and he gets to walk away now.
Either way... this is going to hurt TNA.

JJ vs someone for the Title.
*JJ is about to win*
*lights go out*
*lights come back on and JJ is knocked out, with Sting in the ring*
*Sting grabs a mic*
STING: Psyche!!
*End Show*
FANS: :wtf:

A sting heel turn would be good. A sting/cc feud for the title would be sweet but the fans would cheer both of them anyway

And as for that, "he can only be in the main event" thing, I say bullshit. NO ONE can ONLY be in the main event. I don't know the specifics of Sting's contract, but maybe he only had a set number of appearances he has to work, and this is a way to give him a few weeks off, so they don't use them all up too soon.

Usually when someone says "only in the main event", they mean feuds, not the order of matches, and there can be more than one main event feud.

Not the way he was saying it. The way he was talking, it's like Sting can only be in matches featuring the World Champion.
Well, I don't know about that, but he does need (not should) to be in the main event scene with a feud, otherwise he's a waste.

A lot of young guys could learn a lot from getting the chance to work with Sting, whether the internet fans label it as a "main event" feud or not.
He'll be back in a couple of PPVs

If you are talking about what I said, then you misread what I was tryinmg to say. I was trying to say that Sting's career has allowed him the honor of being in "main event fueds", not just ones dealing with the title.

No, I read what you said, right down to talking about Sting vs. Christian Cage, IF Christian is allowed to win the title.

Because they have done Sting v Jerrett and what would be the reason for Sting/CC UNLESS Christian won the belt.
That was the ONLY reference to Sting fueding for the belt. All I was saying was that he is a main eventer and should stay that way. Don't try to read to much into it man.
