View Full Version : Yearly MITB...
I know the WWE dropped the ball on Edge's Money in the Bank, but I think it would be a cool idea to have it yearly, either at WrestleMania or as a PPV on it's own. It would bring at least one interesting storyline every year.
They could even do it King of the Ring style, where it has it's own PPV and is a tournament. The winner has until the next WrestleMania to use it. (So if it's in June, they'd have 9-10 months to cash it in.)
Thoughts?
That's not King of the Ring style...
... That IS King of the F'N Ring!!!
But i'm all for it :)

WWE needs to bring back King of the Ring before TNA goes off and rips the idea off....I just want to see KOTR back...I miss it so damn much...

King of the Ring was cool. MITB, while the match was greatness, led to a situation with Edge getting moved in and out of the title picture in a heartbeat as a result of bad planning.

I like MITB better than KOTR, KOTR is too predictable imo.I don't trust the writers to know how to book a KOTR and make good use of it,why do you think they took it away in the first place?:shifty:
Mind you, using that logic I guess they should just take away MITB aswell.

It's a pretty good idea. The only thing is that if they did do it annually, for all our sakes, they let someone with SOME talent in their body win it. Do NOT let the likes of HHH win it, because he gets MITB weekly. And do not give it to someone that is getting no reaction from the crowd. Thats all i ask for.

I think a yearly M.O.M. would be way more interesting.

I do like the idea of the Money in a Bank Ladder Match being an annual match at WrestleMania. Here are the participants of the 2006 Money in the Bank Ladder Match I would like to see:
1. Rob Van Dam
2. Shelton Benjamin
3. Carlito
4. Chris Masters (jus for kicks and giggles)
5. Charlie Haas
6. Johnny Jeter
I'd give the win to either Rob Van Dam, or have some kind of plan by Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas, where the outsmart Vince and grab te contract together, meaning that they can have the title shot together.
I'd also like to see the King of the Ring brought back. The WWE is planning on having more PPVs this year aren't they? If so, I see no better PPV to revive than this one. Have the KOR being restricted to either former KOR Winners or superstars that have never been World Champion. Have it be interpromotional, and make it as huge as you want. This may not be realistic, but I would love to see Val Venis win the whole thing, with the prize being a shot at Summerslam for the World Title of his choice.

Seriously though, I like the idea. Every 12 months we can have a MITB match, let some poor shmuck workhis ass off to make the match, and then elevate a talentless fuck.

That's exactly how the creative team would pitch it too.

I love how when KOTR was cancelled, a lot of wrestling fans said "Good! Good riddance, it was useless anyway." Instead there should have been something official to attach to it to make it important.
I think a MITB at the KOTR would make the PPV important IMHO. WTFLOL

Pushing Edge on the other hand was a bad idea.

Only because you're too stupid to understand that killing Edge was probably the best thing the WWE's done in a long time. :p

Why does everyone hate Edge? When E+C were together, Edge was my favourite, and he was for a long time afterwards. Granted, Christian is a little better on the mic, but Edge is still good IMO.
Anyways, topic. KOTR = :y:
KOTR with a MITB prize = :y::y:

I don't actually hate Edge. I hate the idea of Edge in the main event scene, I dislike most of his solo work, I dislike the directions they've taken him, but I'm more than happy to praise him when he does something right.
...The only problem is, of late, the only thing he's done right is get upset that a wigger beat him, and his attacks on internet fans. And both of those are novelties that will wear on me fast.

So think it's gonna be a yearly "Let's waste a great idea" spot, or think they'll actually use it to promote people someone gives a fuck about?
They'll probably give the win to Rey and he'll get the title shot/win later in the year, either at SummerSlam or Surivor Series.

Knowing the booking in the WWE, Edge will win it again. Cos it makes sense for him too.

How could he be Mr. Money in the Bank if he DIDN'T win the match?
Actually, I'd rather he go back to being Mr. Money in the Bank than the Rated R Superstar. Except for that PG-13 performance he put on with Lita (damn you foreigners and your non-censored television), he hasn't really done anything at all to be "Rated R." Maybe if he tagteamed with Val Venis, though...

Fucking Hell man, the horrors!
Besides, they make all sorts of claims that aren't true. The rated G superstar can still call himself Mister Money in the Bank, Mister Moneyshot, or even Mister Shot a load in a walking disease factory.

Alright, I've figured out how I would do this:
Annual Interpromotional Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Takes place at WrestleMania. The winner gets a title shot he can use at anytime, anyplace on any brand with any Champion. It can be for the World Championship, but if a guy wants to use it to win the Tag Team Titles with someone of their choice, they can do that as well. In fact, you could have it so that the "Money in the Bank" is actually a shot at any title they can legally compete for.
For example:
JBL wins the MITB Ladder Match at WrestleMania. He now holds a contract which allows him to challenge for any Championship at anytime (except the Women's and Cruiserweight Titles, because he doesn't qualify, but he can sign the shots over to someone else). Layfield can show up on RAW, win the IC Title from Ric Flair. The next week he can win the World Tag Team Championship with Orlando Jordan. Jillian Hall can use the shot to win the Women's Championship.
JBL works on both RAW & SmackDown!, holding the IC Title and World Tag Titles on RAW. Say he loses the IC Title, he then decides to challenge for the US Title after the Champ goes through a gruelling match. Layfield wins, and he becoems US Champ. He then challenges for the WWE Tag Team Championship with Orlando Jordan, wins, and both titles are around JBL's waist.
You can basically keep going. Make MITB a jackpot for a wrestler to win. This year have Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy & Chris Benoit from SmackDown! compete. RVD, Chavo Guerrero & Ken Doane give it a go from RAW. I'd personally like to see Mysterio, Benoit or Hardy walk away with the win.
King of the Ring Tournament
Either takes place through scattered PPVs, or it gets its own. The KOTR winner gets two honours. They get to compete on both brands until the end of the year, where they then get to choose which brand they become a full-time member of. KOTR winners could also swap brands occasionally by will. So Kurt Angle could jump over to RAW (maybe have it only a switch per month). Triple H could also jump over to SmackDown! for PPV or two.
The KOTR winner also gets a shot at the World Champion of his choice at Summerslam. So, let's say Doug Basham wins. He challenges Kurt Angle at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Championship. He also appears on both brands until the end of the year. Say he wins the title, he feud with Danny Basham over it on RAW, while having a major program taking place on SmackDown!.
It could get a bit confusing, but this concepts make the KOTR and MITB look like they can make careers. By winning the MITB you get a potential six title reigns, and by winning the KOTR, you become an interpromotional star for the rest of the year.
