So, from judging by the internet scoops, the Headlining matches are going to be:

Gay Spinny Title
Cena vs. HHH

World Heavyweight Championship
Angle vs. Orton
* which means that Rey is going to get screwed somehow in his headlining spot guaranteed for winning the RR. Not sure how this is going to play out, but it's pretty shitty for Rey fans if it's true. Not sure where that leaves Rey exactly for Mania.

McMahon's Ego on a Pole match
HBK vs. the McMahon family tree

Now for the predictions:
IC Championship
RVD vs. Shelton vs. Edge in a Ladder Match
(If this happens, I think this will be the show stealer of the night and a possible MOTY canidate. RVD will have enough time to shake the rust off by then.)

Women's Championship
Trish vs. Psycho vs. Lita vs. Victoria in a Fatal Fourway.
(I hope to god Ashley isn't involved in a Mania match. Hopefully they learned their lesson last year with Spaz's stinkbomb match with Trish.)

RAW Tag Team Championship
I really don't see anyother options than:
Show/Kane vs. Carlito/Masters

Smackdown Tag Belts
MNM vs. The Mexicools

US Title
Booker vs. Benoit vs. Rey vs. JBL in a 4 way Elimination match.

Cruiserweight Championship
Won't exist, because Vince will have fired every cruiserweight on the roster by then to make room to expand the "Spirit Squad".


Random Thoughts
*Not sure where Flair fits in to this, but the rumor is that he'll be facing Ricky "The Dragon" in a Legends match.

*It's rumored that it's supposed to be Undertaker vs. Mark Henry......

Just because I hope to God that they don't drag JBL/Boogy feud out til Mania...PLEASE GOD NO!

I'm not sure why they didn't move Golddust to Smackdown to team with The Boogeyman. That could actually be pretty funny....but I guess it's more entertaining to watch him go after Shelton's Mama on RAW. Because that's comedic GOLD (No pun intended).

Another scary thought is that Candice we all know will be doing Playboy soon, thus WWE will probably want to get her involved in a Mania match to capitalize on the publicity. As long as they don't give her a mic or put her in the Women's Title Match, I won't complain much.

I would love to see this, but my question to you is this. Why not keep the strap on Edge til then and let him keep building heel heat. This would give them time to fix face/Cena. If it's Cena vs. HHH one on one, I think Cena will get boo'd out of the building regardless of how many Eddie jabs HHH makes between now and then. A majority of the reason people hate Cena is because he doesn't lose. WWE admitted this and tried to fix it by giving Edge the strap. Do they think this was enough time? He was getting a mixed reaction again on RAW and during the RR. That makes no freaking sense to me.

I would love to see this, but my question to you is this. Why not keep the strap on Edge til then and let him keep building heel heat.

I'm really interested to see what they do with Rey assuming they shaft him out of the title shot.

He could really use a big time match to maintain his current level. If you look at the roster there are very few, if any guys who could give him the type of match he needs. Benoit would give him a very good match and put him over like a million bucks, but I dont think its high profile enough.


I remember hearing a while back that Rock wanted to work with him. It would be great if they did Rock-Mysterio to give Rey the rub.

Hogan doesn't appear to have a spot either.

I like this and never even considered that as a stipulation. It would make sense, because it's rumored that HBK will be working a lighter schedule next year. I would love for Bischoff to make an appearance during the match with 3MW and screw Vince!

It seems this year that it'll be tough to get everyone on the card.

5 matches seem to be locked up, or close to it:

Cena--HHH
Edge--Foley
McMaon--HBK
Angle--Orton
Taker--Henry

When you look at last year's Mania they only had 8 matches plus a spot with Hogan and the Piper's Pit deal.

So that suggests they can probably do 10 matches, which means you got 5 spots open.

On Smackdown; Rey has to get a spot. I'm kinda thinking he might get a US title match with Booker T. My logic is that Randy will cash in his favour at No Way Out, which will cost Rey the title shot and set up Book vs Rey at Mania.

I would also think that MNM will get a spot. There are a lot of guys who they could throw together for a match. Dont know if this is a possibility, but maybe Jeff Hardy comes back and they do Hardys vs MNM? I guess the Mexicools are the other likely challengers, but it seems like they are getting another shot at NWO, seems like that program will not be hot enough come Mania.

That still leaves Benoit, JBL, Lashley, Boogeyman and Finley as guys who get TV time without a dance partner.

Out of those guys I think Boogeyman is the guy they are most interested in doing somehting with, so he'll probably get something on the show. But nothing jumps out at me in terms of who he can face. If Rey is booked with someone else (say Benoit or even Rock) then Boogey would likely face Booker.

Over on RAW you've got the Trish/Ashley/MJ deal that will likely get blown off at Mania. That probably leaves only one or two more spots for RAW guys.

Carlito, Masters, RVD, Flair, Benjamin, Show and Kane are all without obvious programs.

I'm thinking they might do Flair vs Benjamin one on one. Flair has been IC champ for a while, and it would be nice to see a real IC title match at Mania that could actually mean something. There's probably some entertaining stuff they could do with Shelton's momma and Flair leading up to Mania to get heat on that match.

The other wildcard is Hogan. I know the talk was that Hogan would be on the show, but with who? The only logical opponents I see on RAW are Masters (if he were to go over) and Show. Over on SD, I could see HOgan vs JBL.
